@@activemonkey7325 I have an a7 and I recently gutted cats but still have the stock exhaust. Do you know which resonators or cats would revert the sound back to stockish or just make it super quiet ? I don't care about sounding the best but being quiet rather so I am not obnoxious

@@KingKhan-ez3gg That's tough. The stock cats to an amazing job of controlling noise. If I were in your shoes, I'd run the AWE Tuning Resonated Downpipes (AWE 3215-11030) with these cats added before the actual resonator. It would end up looking similar to my setup here. i.imgur.com/kEe2Spk.jpg

there was none of either. The stock cats do an amazing job at eliminating drone and rasp.

@@mydimeisup5103 The shift farts will happen with this exhaust setup HOWEVER, the tune will dictate weather or not there are shift farts. You can get shift farts on a 100% oem setup with just a tune.

@@activemonkey7325 Got it thanks! The C7 vs C7.5 have different part numbers for the rear mufflers. Do you know of the differences and what part number mufflers you had?

Sadly i had to use the AWE tuning mufflers which are engineered to remove the drone. The vibration dampeners may help some, but it's hard to control the drone.

@@andrewczajkowski7001 The ECS x-pipe would work. I just had the local muffler shop chop out the mid muffler and weld in straight pipes. Then i welded on the rear mufflers.

@@activemonkey7325 I wonder how the X pipe will sound compared to your straight pipes. Do I have to do anything with the flapper modules on the exhausts or do they default to "open" ?

yes... kinda. The magnaflow 12568 and 11386 are "X-Pipes" but you should really just think of them as dual in and dual out mufflers.

@@andrewczajkowski7001 If you can live with cats, you can do just about anything and it will sound ok. I really liked the sound with just a mid muffler delete. If you have to delete cats, it's a pain in the butt controlling rasp and drone.

Sadly for him, the Genises was tuned but the track prep was crap and we all had to lower our tire pressure to ~25-28psi. Add he wasn't the best at launching and he would spin pretty bad.

@@Shadxws the high flow catalytic converters made a big difference, but the AWE touring has some sort of acoustical magic. Hard to tell which one really did the most high flow cats were a huge improvement.

Hand down my favorite sounding was setup #2. Good sound, cheap and no drone. @@activemonkey7325 okay it does sound great but probably hard to find a s7 exhaust where i live ..probably just going to delete the middle res and get some performance mufflers

@@devonbray-f9w The only reason i went with the S7 mufflers was for the quad tips vs the stock single trapazoid looking thing built into the bumper. hey probably sound the same.

​@activemonkey7325 gosh, you sound like me... I only switched for the quad tip and realized how bad these drone. My Altima SE-R with dual Greddy exhaust had less running midrange drone than these.

Jackal tunes will work with aftermarket throttle bodies. Let them know which aftermarket throttle body you get, and they will make the tune work for it. Technically the jackal stage 2 e85 tune is for an upgraded upper pulley. I was previously dual pulley, and I really didn’t wanna have to put the stock crank pulley back on so I just did this. It works pretty well. I really can’t wait for Jack to come out with their dual pulley e85 but I think they’re having trouble with fueling.

@@activemonkey7325 ah i see that’s so dope that they can make a custom tune with the throttle body you know where i can find a throttle body? ..and how does that tune work with the upgraded crank pulley it doesn’t cut out ? and i thought they already had a dual pully e85 haha i guess that’s the stage 2 plus? i can’t wait either i heard 034 is making that tune as well

@@devonbray-f9w Sadly, no one has a stage 2+ e85 tune available for the crec motors. (Audi A6 & A7 2016-2018). The tune is setup to run with an upgraded upper pulley. It works pretty well with a stock SC pulley and upgraded lower pulley, but it's not perfect, but that is my fault not the tune's.

Stock with just the intake. Intake is recommended for stage 1 and that will put you right around 400 wheel hp

@@Ryan-iu2xl the intake alone does not get you up to 400hp the car comes 300hp or 333hp

yes although you should expect some increased drone. The stock rear mufflers do one hell of a job at minimizing drone.

no, however i am running 90 degree O2 spacers on the down stream O2 sensors.

Overall it has been great. The issues i have experience have come from my upgrading and pushing for more power then replacing worn or weaker parts. Motor mounts, fuel pump, O2 sensors, pretty normal stuff. I especially like 2016-2018 because it has both direct and port injection so you will never need to worry about carbon cleaning the valves. Overall great cars.

When shifting from 2nd gear to 3rd gear, the car would dump all boost and lose power. What i believe was happening is the TCU Tunes shift points were too close to the ECU Tunes Redline. Example: ECU tune runs to 7400 rpm, TCU shift point is 7400 RPM, but for a split second the engine exceeds 7400 rpm and dumps power to protect itself. The issue was resolved with i switched to IE's tune. I did run into this again when i switched to the Melen TCU tune (more aggressive than IE's TCU tune). The TCU tuner lower the RPM shift point slightly and the issue never came back.

I thought of that and later wrapped both flex pipes in heat wrap to see if the noise was coming from them, but it made no difference. I went to an exhaust shop a few days later, and they confirmed it was the resonators which had debris inside of them. Cut them out, replace them with something else, and the problem was instantly gone.

You’re correct. The middle muffler was replaced with the small resonators, and the rear mufflers were deleted and pipe and tips installed. Please be aware that this will cause drone in the car.

I knew it was going to sound like shit and the muffler setup was changed the very next day. Test pipes were necessary as i couldn't risk melting or destroying the OEM cats. Even with all the factory mufflers i'm pretty sure this would have sounded like shit. The OEM cats to the lords work at controlling rasp and drone.

It sounds better then what I hear most people cat delete sounds like ! If you wanna kill a chunk of the raspy sound I heard the magnaflow 11385 resonator is great for it
