was fighting her with a bow on my bow only character and she used the lunar ball sack attack 3 times in a row. not complaining cuz it's a visually beautiful attack and fun to dodge, but like she just did that. I must've glitched her ai or something.
visually and musically my favorite fight in the entire series and it's not even close. like the way he transitions between the elements and how it's synced with the music gave me goosebumps and genuinely made me giggle like a little girl
Worst boss ever, coolest aesthetic and theme
The moons.. THE MOONS THE GOD DAMN FREAKING MOONS
Amazing boss but not my favorite in Elden Ring
Thank you for your response
3:50 This small segment at the end has taken up my brain space
Phase 1 is a waltz. The 3/3 tempo is the giveaway. You are having a waltz of death with this gorgeous fighter.
How did this boss not get a cutscene??
Wow this theme sounds lovely, too bad I couldn't hear it over the sound of her beating my ass for a couple hours
personally my favorite boss of the DLC. No cutscene no nothing just straight to business. Took 4 hours to kill her as a pure strength build with my zwiehander. This isnt a fight. This is a dance and shes the lead and you are fallowing her. She in my opinon is a lot like 3 of our other favorite ladys being Sister Friede, Lady Maria, and Malenia.
let him cook i said, let him cook
He didn’t with the final boss
@@WRSH101 it is not that bad. It is only bad compared to miyazaki standards
neutered version of the gameplay trailer music
*parry*
i can fix her
this song gives me the same feeling from Ludwig, and even from living failures, it is not a fight, it's a dance
Mommy
Cool design, fair, fun and spectacular fight, cool lore. Easily one of the best bosses in fromsoft games
Bad lore, mediocre boss
@@mihaimercenarul7467rellana is the best boss fight lf all times. The moves are fast, easy to read, and spectacular.
@@captaincs8440 best boss of all time? Lmao she is not even top 50, calm down. Also what is so spectacular about a generic knight with two swords?
@@mihaimercenarul7467 fast movement, readable, nice visuals and good variety of attacks wich she can change so very different each fight, and overall fun learning curve. What is spectacular? The boss has magic and fire attacks, two moons, and has very cool special effects like the fire tornado, magic slashes etc.
@@mihaimercenarul7467 how is she not at least top 10 for you?
Love this boss shes super fun to solo
Why is she attracted to her sister's half-son?
Because he is the impaler
Rennala and Messmer are not related by blood though, Messmer is the son of Marika and Radagon
Rellana: Sooo… heard you attacked my sister after her husband left her…… “Snaps into phase 2 when you step in.” Tarnished: ummmm…. I liked to think it was Gideon that attacked her!!” “Die’s in magic and fire.”
i usually play with npc summon for the "story" of it but i did that one solo after dying. Just felt right.
I finaly beat her with my best buddy Silver Tear :)
This is obviously a peak boss battle theme, but I miss the sassy violin solo from the trailer :(
looking at the comments i realize im not the only masochist in love with Rellana
Best boss music .Gets me hyped up! Awesome!
This music hits hard !love it!
Pontiff Sullyvan’s glow up after HRT
Close enough, welcome back pontiff Sulyvahn
he was easier than her
Thanks miséricorde 😅
Thank you my trusty colossal sword. 😂
I just wanted to say jesus loves you he's changed my life and all the better he can change yours to because he loves you and died for your sins come to him and be saved and experience his love he'll always be by your side embrace christ as he wishes to know you god bless❤
String ostinatos, powerful cello lines, soprano choirs, intertwining lyrical melodies, sometimes friction between chords... surely I'm not the only one reminded of Yuka Kitamura's style ?
On Spotify it literally says all the dlc songs are co-composed by yuka kitamura so that's why the dlc soundtrack slaps so much
@@Pengwiin4738 Oh that makes a lot of sense... Though interestingly, I find that out of all the DLC's OST's, this is the only one that really follows Kitamura's style
@@Pengwiin4738The Spotify upload is made by a fan, Yuka only composed 4 zone tracks. This track is by Tai Tomisawa. All the Spotift credits are wrong.
@@dragskcinnay3184This is by Tai Tomisawa. Yuka didn't make any boss tracks.
@@slinttu1378 yes I know, hence the term "reminded" :)
The DLC really wants the player to try all the new things. This boss is clearly designed with the new backhand blade in mind and it really is an unforgettable dance when you try to fight her with that.
Hi! I’ve hitless’d her with my colossal sword lol, it was fun as heck, but I found Backhand Blades are more fun in general throughout the game because of the attack tempo & that Blind Spot Ash of War which is ridiculously OP.
Very nice fight, that sullyvahn reference was unexpected but very welcomed. (I know some people will kill me to say that fight was nice since she's in full combo almost 95% of the time xD)
failed slave knight gael 2.0 attempt
Different bosses, stop with that nostalgia bias
@@phil5200 wow ds3 came out in 2016 and its still better than er, they even need to copy basically everything from ds3 to make er good
Except rellana has nothing in common with Gael

Moment I walked in and the violins went wild I knew we were in for some good shit If only it didnt take me like 30 tries that first run 😂 but it was such a spectacle each time I didnt really complain
To think...this is Rykard, Radahn and Ranni's Aunt
And she is implid to love theire sibling / the kid of her twinn sisters ex or soon to be
@@Irelevant472 well messmer is the oldest of all the children of Marika so it's possible messmer is older than her if not around the same age
@@thatnoctutnallizard4600 good point, that would make radagon-renala the one with the age gap, it's just funny how wierd this family tree has bekomm
And didn't even has a single cutscene or introduction. and is an optional boss.
@@aryabratsahoo7474 wait how is she optional?
Mixing in parts of Rennala's ost into Rellana's is such a stroke of genius I love it
Sounds extremely similar to Gael's theme
It reminds me of dark souls 3 abyss watchers ost. ruclips.net/video/tXxf0wnca1g/видео.htmlsi=Jh8vpMe-VWapbX85
This theme will haunt me forever. This fight went real hard
They cooked a whole prime steak buffet with all the sides with this game’s OST I swear Not one bad entry, not one skippable song
Dual Wielding bosses have always been the coolest. From Raime, Sulyvahn, Maria, and now Rellana.
Don’t forget radahn in base game
And sister Frieda or however you spell it
@@oreo3787 Sister Friede
+ Dancer of the Boreal Valley
Can we talk about how beautifully she moves? Her fighting is almost like an art form
Yeah, I especially love how her swords don't have a consistent weight at all: They're as light or as heavy as the attack needs it to be, with no consistency whatsoever, which was done much better already toms of times in other games, even fromsoftware games.
@@yanribeiro7108 she is basicly changing between heavy and light atacks like the tarnished
@@Irelevant472 You are not getting the picture. Light and strong attacks still have the same weight, she's just deliberately putting more power into an attack at the cost of it taking longer. However, the way she acts with certain moves give the impression that the swords are heavy, but on another attack, she will just swing them around as if they're nothing. Look at pontiff Sulyvahn. He has one massive, and one average sword. Every attack with the smaller sword is quicker but less damaging, he is capable of poking with it due to the light nature of it. Meanwhile, the profane greatsword always needs to be swung, and it's attacks are way slower. Pontiff is strong enough to hold one in each hand, but each sword has a consistent weight and Power. Even his delayed overhead keeps the same weight while being a "Strong" attack, due to the fact that he holds it over his head effortlessly. The boss animations in Elden ring are deliberately designed to be clunky and shittily inconsistent because there is no other way to make these games, with their extremely shallow combat, any harder than the peaks of Ds3. But since the fans adore difficulty at the cost of good and intuitive boss design, this is what they went with. If you seriously believe the bosses in this game have a consistent weight behind their movements, you're not only wrong, but I would urge you to play other games, as these sorts of perspectives don't come from people who have played what the action RPG genre has to offer. Monster hunter is a stand-out in the genre: Monsters have a consistent weight, intuitive patterns, and better gameplay than anything From has ever made, while also being more difficult. Of course, with them being the most popular Devs currently, this is not a popular take, despite it being correct. Suggesting that other games have already done what they've tried except better is not a popular opinion, outside of the players familiar with both games with no biases towards fromsoftware.
@@yanribeiro7108 wich atacks do you even mean that make the swords look's heavy compared to the base weight?
@@yanribeiro7108 first point have you Seen Osiris? that was junky as hell as well as fore example 1+2 gen monsterhunter, the knock back on a yian kutku tailswipe does not ad up to any weight, i agree that ds3 has better Bosses acros the Bord that game dosen't need you to shit talk one of the Bosses that actualy comes close to the legends house there. Also trying to shit talk the hitboxes in the game that has some of the fairest ones (have you ever fought a plesioth?) And on a Boss who actuly has tells in her delays is shure somthing Also asking a mage who hovers in her twin moon atack about weight is pretty funny
My favorite boss in the whole DLC ❤️ She belong to DS3 !
Do you mean lady Sullivan?
Rellana is malenia just without the literal but hits harder and is stronger
The DLC has so many great tracks, very glad about it since I found a lot of them in the base game very forgettable.
Never thought I'd see a beautiful battle that would remind me of Malenia's. Both are work of an art alongside with everything in the base game & DLC.
