Ever so slight misapplication of the concept of panopticism - unless I have misunderstood your use of it here. It would be more appropriate to simply state (as indeed it does appear you are suggesting), Jaylen Brown's woes stem from him falling out of line with the higher ups at the NBA - where panopticism would be the fact that players keep themselves in check on and off the court, even though Adam Silver & Co aren't necessarily always there physically to ensure that (akin to a guard in the watchtower of a prison). How someone in the street would move knowing CCTV is within eyeshot or how people tow the line on social media is where Foucault's panopticism of internal surveillance was headed. You could therefore actually say that the majority of the league is operating within a panopticism - one in which Jaylen Brown refuses to be confined within.
