Unda Alunda - Space of Your Existence (Original by Tigran Hamasyan)
This is part of my daily routine, practicing transcription!
For this song, I transcribed and re-recorded every part by hand and ear-100%-from the piano, bass, drums, time signatures, to harmony, rhythm, transitions and movements throughout the piece. The composition is by one of my favorite jazz pianists, Tigran Hamasyan.
The original track doesn’t include any guitar, but my challenge was to replace the main piano part entirely with guitar. I also took the opportunity to rewrite all the other instruments as well, as an experiment to learn from an artist I admire.
The goal was not just to think like a guitarist but to hear something new.
What I gain from doing this is more than just guitar sk...
