Great vid/info. Where did you get the red screw kit from.
I've got two, I love them both, as you say, not the most capable but still great fun.
What is your servo? Is stock servo tt02 works?
I typically use a PowerHD R12 or a PowerHD D15. They are low profile servos that have a fast transit time and decent torque.
I had one in the 90's, it was very capable due to the all-wheel drive, hug corners well, dig in, much better than other 2-wheel drives, had on-road and off-road tyres for it. think I paid $400 AUD, but needed the running gear for it. In the end times got a little tough and I sold the setup.
hi bro great video, can you tell me the spec of the wheels and where did you pay them please
I believe the wheels and tires are from Aliexpress. Thank you for leaving a comment and question!
Thanks for the tips! :)
You are welcome! Thank you for the feedback.
Good stuff bro
Thank you!
I really like the idea of the connecting rods at the rear! Im building my own rally tt02 and would be please to know the length to use? Thank you!
I didnt measure the length. However it was tuned to provide roughly 2' rear toe static, and a little over 4' rear toe during squat. Hope this helps!
i laugh out loud with that chinesium thing..
Sounds like you spent $100 on crappier parts than what the truck came with.
You are welcome to feel that way. Sorry you do not agree with my low cost upgrades. But thank you for watching!
Incredible! One question, are these wheels included in that chassis? If so, which chassis is it included in? Looks like it's not in tt02
Thank you! I believe the wheels are from my Tamiya TA03RS porsche kit.
@@2mmrc thank you
Just picked one up, had a new one back in the day. Does anyone know if the nitro mt body fits? As I'm struggling to replace the fairy battered one that is currently on it....
I was wondering that also. Luckily I was able to still use the original body. Hope your search goes well!
My first rc hobby grade car
INteresting. The steering links also attach to the top of the arms, which would give quite a lot of bump steer no? Some very unusual setup choices here, but if it works, go for it!
Very much so! The car is more or less setup to be "exponential", with the high degree of bump steer in the front and in the back, while also being very planted with the roll centre changes. Thank you!
8th scale Nitro rally when? Nice work chuck!
The best thing you can do to a TT02 is ditch the brushed setup, Imo. I have a 9.5 turn sensored brushless setup in mine, and its a beast, just upgrade the spur to metal, and the rest seems to hold up.
That's one way to go. Personally, putting a 9.5t into a TT02 that is spec'd for rally, just isn't something I would promote though. But YMMV 👍
Hey great vid. What motor/esc are you using on tt02? Hey do you hqve a link to pod cast?

Where can I buy the carbon chassi
I was fortunate enough to get it from my local hobby store. Otherwise, it may have to be an internet quest for you. Hopefully you find what you are searching for.👍
Good ideas! Looks like a decent base to build up from.
thank you!
Just installed the same kit and mine spins out so easily. It’s my first rc car and realize o should have gotten a proper RWD chassis but trying to make adjustments to get it usable. Mind sharing all your turnbuckle measurements?
I would recommend using the turnbuckle settings in the instructions, and then adjusting your camber to be relatively flat. These are not easy cars to drift and tune for beginners. But keep at it and enjoy the journey as you tune and drive!
I did not understand what you did with the front shocks.. did u change them completely or add just another spring
I added the stock spring inside of the spring of the aluminum shock. The stock springs are of a very small diameter 👍
How Fragile is this chassis?
The plastics are far better than 3Racing. Xpress is very durable. I won the 3 hour enduro with an Xq2S, a couple summers back.
Great build and tips, thank you!
Thank you!
Hello friend, I want to buy this chassis! Would it support an 8.5t engine? What is your opinion about the chassis and is it good and regular?
It can handle an 8.5t with the right driving, setup and gearing for your track conditions. Good luck and have fun!
Thanks for sharing. I'm intrigued about the shims part. I thought that more roll is better to put greater weight on the necessary tire. So by removing the inside shims on your camber links you are actually raising the roll center, which will give you less roll, unless I'm wrong. I'm trying to eek out as much traction as I can on a dusty carpark track with the xq2s, that's why i'm here. I suspect that fewer inside shims will raise the roll center, and reduce roll? Also, I removed a two screws on the top deck, and my car was wondering down the straight. Even though my tweak was perfect. Putting them back fixed the issue. Just sharing my thoughts that we both can learn something, let me you your thoughts.
I believe the terminology is often mis-used, regarding lower roll centre vs raised roll centre. But regardless, if you are trying to obtain more chassis roll, consider raising your ride height and adjusting the position of your shocks. Removing screws on a top deck should not have any bearing to alignment. But I don't have sufficient information to further comment. Thanks for the communication!
Did you juse the standard pinion from the element utron on that Traxxas 12t brushed Titan motor
Yes, used the same pinion. The titan 12t provided more overall power.
Are the the Traxxas e-revo 2.0 rod ends you juse on those links also ore from element, and the weights on the wheels from element do you have the part nr so i can order the correct one thanks Christian
What a great review and overview. Never heard of the gtop, cool idea!

Also, as I said about the slippers, the front and rear belt pullies/diff housings are unique to this truck and are equally unobtanium. Anyone thinking of going brushless, I highly suggest reconsidering. If you round off one of those pullies you won't be replacing it.
I just restored mine a year or so back too. The slippers are unobtanium. I wanted one for my RS4 Rally and it's cheaper to buy an RS4MT roller just for the slipper than it is the slipper unit itself. These are fantastic trucks though. Back in the day HPI actually had a lot of success running them in 2WD classes by removing the front belt. It gave T3s and XXX-Ts a run for their money.
Cool ride👍
Thank you!
For the money you spend on this conversion, you get a proper drift chassis... It would be interessting for under half the price which the conversion costs.
Correct. A proper drift chassis like a Yokomo RD1.0 would typically perform better than this converted TT02 chassis, when driven by the same person or by two people of similar skill levels. With that said, part of the fun of the TT02 drift conversion is the journey of completing the build.
Apologies for the poor audio. Tried recording with a different camera.

Thank you
Nice SRX! That looks like a great Chassis. I just had mine up to 93 MPH . just subbed
Red screws make the car at least 0.5 seconds faster
Great vid Chuck, hope to see you in Calgary for one of our ATS races.
Hi Chuck. I'm starting my journey with the at1 in vta. What's your spur/pinion size and which camber plates fr to rear are you using
I may have a new favourite RUclips channel
New Car looks great!
Lovely truck. just subbed.
Go get em Chuck!
Would u say that the tt02 with a few more mods than Urs would compare against yokomos?
Do also think that if u put alot of time into the tt02 that its as good as the yokomo? Im Looking forward to mount the battery on the rear und Balance the weight
The TT02 w/ Drift conversion should be able to drift as well as a Yokomo RD1.0, with enough tuning & practice. With that said, a Yokomo RD1.0 is better tuned for drifting on smooth flat surfaces at the moment. I also enjoy driving it a bit more than my TT02 drift conversion. The Tamiya is a capable platform, but I don't have enough information to say that it's comparable with a Yokomo with the same amount of mods (The RD1.0 is a great car, though it is pretty basic out of the box).
@@2mmrc do you i think it could compete and Tandem with other rwd Chassis? If yes im looking forward to getting ine
I do not have sufficient information on your background, your skillset, or your tuning abilities to give you an answer. I can tell you that with over 20 years of competing in RC events and tuning my own setups, that I am confident enough to compete with a TT02 w/ Yeah Racing drift conversion kit. But your personal results may vary. Have fun and hopefully this information helps.
@@2mmrc ok thanks tho

Hi sir mine is not working hard to control and drift its all stock my tyres is mst plastic its drift conversion like that can u help me
