Nothing revolutionary about it, now you have to replace the whole hub together with the axle. Plus it restricts the diameter of cv joint, making it weaker. And you also now have to make the whole thing from high carbon steel which is harder to machine and more expensive than the mild steel which is perfectly suitable for a hub.

GM did this once. Recalled and destroyed all the trucks that had it after the speed sensors that kept the rear wheels from steering at speed would fail causing trucks to slam into guard rails killing the occupants. This isn’t new tech, also the cyber truck can’t tow for shit lol

What happens if you don't disconnect the red connector for the primary battery before removing the 12 volt battery?

As a master mechanic if I had to do brakes and (IF) the rotor was stuck and needed to be resurfaced or replaced . I could use a bolt with matching threads. Run it into that hole and it would separate the rotor from wheel hub. 😏

What's the advantage? Never heard of shorter drive train being a feature people chase.
