Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot, I will check out your work.... 100%. Love blues and love blues guitar!! Thanks again!
Nice video Ian!! Cheers!!

Thank you so much! Absolutely love this piece. And many thanks for the comments about the Guitar. Will be doing a video on it at some point as I absolutely love this Guitar. PS will check out your backing tracks and might use onto to do with. Will you obviously?
@ for sure!
Hi I have a question. I have an Ampero press 2. Regarding the calibration of the switch on expression 2 input. To have the minimum I have to hold down the switch while I see that in your case With the first click it goes to the maximum with the second click but to the minimum. I am still using Trs cables what could be the problem.
Switches operate only in fully on or fully off, with no gradual adjustments or increments that need calibrating. The expression pedal is the only component that allows for calibration. I hope that makes sense.
Rockboard TRS
😉👍🏼✨🎶✨👏🏼
Thanks, just love this track. Got any suggestions for others to play?
Thanks a lot. You convinced me to buy this one. I like that the pedal has more ways of using it. Using the button or withouth the button. Thanks again
My pleasure, it's a great pedal with so many options of how you can use it. Enjoy my friend x
you need 4 ports on the DC 7 to power the Quad so you only need 3 8800 cables and one 1030 or you can use the new Crux and keep all 7 ports for other pedals
Hi, I need some advice 🙂 I have the same system as the video, no expression pedal yet, but it'll be a Mission or Dunlop. I have a DC7 and a Crux. I have a QC. I will mainly be playing at home, and recording at home, but I wanted the option to be mobile. Is everything I need to connect the QC to the DC7 and Crux in the boxes? Do I need a power module to connect to the Solo18? And as I'm playing at home mostly, do I need the 2x mod module to make it neater and easier, and not have to use the outputs on the back of the QC.
CIOKS has a new adapter for the Quad Cortex, called the Crux.
Hi Ian. Just starting to build this board except with Duo 24 and two expression pedals. Just want to know what mods you are using and the reasoning behind it? Thanks
Hey this is great!, may I ask wich cables are using here for the cable management of the pedal and the modules, are this TRS cables or just TS?
Why you need dc7. QC adapter is not enough?
Thank God i watched this video before ordering, i had no idea you needed those TRS cables. Good callout.
My pleasure. I nearly made the mistake by not getting them!!
How long are your trs cables? 30 or 60 cm?
I got 60cm
very nice! care to share the preset on the cloud?
Learning here, what is the purpose of two 4x Mods?
Congratulations on the content. I have a question: what did you put underneath the expression pedal to fix it on the pedalboard?
Great job Ian. Subscribed 😊
Hi Mate I love this. Please excuse my ignorance but can you assign this for banking up and down ? As I find the QC up down switches quite clunky. I love my QC though !
My pleasure, I don't think you can set it to bank up and down. But if you had a midi switcher then you could use that to do banking up and down.
Can you assign a wah and a whammy in the same scene? Maybe yiu can change between both with the actual switch of the SP1, thxs
Yeah that’s my problem. I can do it with my Kemper and EP1 pedal but the EP1 don’t work like that in the quad cortex. Basically sweep 1 is wah, sweep two is whammy. Can the SP1 do both?
Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s possible, but there might be some workarounds. You could use two expression pedals-one for wah and one for whammy-or set up two adjacent presets with identical settings, except one has wah and the other has whammy. This way, you can switch between them quickly.
Again, very helpful! I have 2 mission ep1 Line6 expression pedals, guess they will do the job too, although I really like the fitting color of the ND pedal👍
Is it working when you use TRS cable with ep1?
Very nice and helpful video Ian! Thanks! 👌
Hello, can you share any pics of your pedalboard ? I want to build similar setup on DUO 17, using QC wah and Shure GLXD16. However, pedalboard planner on Temple site has wrong dimensions (QC is too small), when checking with exact sizes it seems to be a very tight fit with QC and Dunlop Wah. Did you have any issues to fit Mission Pedal?
thanks for the tip. I entered the correct dimensions (12x7 inches) of the Quad Cortex into the Templeboard planner. Looks like a doable layout next to a volume/expression pedal, but it will be tight
Using a Rockboard Tres 3.1 for a QC, GLXD 16 and a Dunlop Expression Pedal. Perfect fit.
What brand of cable You use for that demo?
Rockboard TRS - Flats
Hey man !!! good morning !! I'm having a problem connecting the Mission expression pedal. The problem is with the connector cable that I already bought two with the TRS specification but they didn't work. It only works if the plug is not fully inserted into the Jack. Do you have any specific cable that you can point me to a site or store for me to buy? I'm in Japan! the expression pedal is a Mission Engineering… EP1 Thank you!
Cioks crux is a better option rather than multiple cables. I changed over recently. It’s much neater
I’ve heard, but built this awhile ago and Crux wasn’t out then. Can Crux take kettle/iec lead or do you still need a Cioks 7 to power it?
@@ianrussellmarshall runs off the 24v outlet on dc7. I’m interested in building a similar board to you as I’ve taken my QC off my main studio board that has lots of normal stomps etc.
@@truthfactreality6814 okay, the crux is probably a better option if you are going to have more pedals. But, for this board the DC7 + Flex cables might be cheaper then having to get a DC7 + Crux + leads. The DC7 on my board is a really expensive but robust power supply for only the QC. With the amount I gig, I need something sturdy.
Mission Engineering makes AMAZING stuff - their Gemini II FRFR cabinets are AWESOME to use with the Quad Cortex (or any modeler), can't wait to check out this pedal!
I’ve heard they make are really good FRFR cabinets. I’ve gone down a different line of on stage cabinet. Will be doing a video soon. But, it’s a great pedal.
Awesome video man! How does the sweep feel on this? Mostly interested in using something for volume.
It’s great, you can change the parameters of the sweep on the QC and with the Sp1 you can adjust the tightness of the pedal. It’s great!
You can get buy with only using 4 outputs at 2A.
2A?
@@ianrussellmarshall 2amps. Or 2000ma
@@JustinZak7 I’ve heard it can still operate at that power. 👍🏾
Anyone else thinking of getting this board? If you need any help, let me know.
Which brand of patch cables did you use (red, white, turquoise)? Probs for your pedal, it looks absolutely need and clean👏.
I second this, which patch cables did you use?
I got one this week, one question: isn't it a bit annoying for you this "clicking" sound when pedal reaches the switch? I know that on stage it won't be hearable but at home/studio I found this as an issue.
I’ve not found a clicking sound at all when using it. That’s strange. I will check again tonight
Can you use the one expression pedal for volume and wah using the switch as toggle?
No, I do think you can. It’s the assignment settings within the effects is where the issue lies. Once you have connected the expression pedal then have to assign the features of this to the effect. Toggling between two doesn’t work. But you could get around it by creating a scene with one that incorporates the volume and other scene with wah in The same preset.
@@ianrussellmarshall On FB I found this in a thread in QC group: "add a gain block for volume control and assign the expression pedal to the Gain control (or Volume, Level, whatever it's actually labeled as). make sure the max range is 50% since that's 0 dB, anything over 50% will boost the signal. go into the wah block and assign the same expression pedal to the Wah control now assign the toe switch to control the Bypass states of both the gain block AND the wah block and make sure only one is active. pressing the toe switch should flip the bypass states and whichever one is active is the effect you'll get" I asked: "This is how you use one exp pedal for volume or wah with the switch as toggle? Is this working in scene and stomp mode?" The reply: "...it should work in any mode. I don’t use it myself because I have a dedicated wah. The Gain block is meant for volume control, but yeah I do think it should be named Volume or something more obvious." I don't own a QC or SP1, so I can't test this.
@@henrikdahlberg878 I've just tried the above suggestion from FB and this doesn't work. The only way I got it to work is too create two scenes (which is a preset inside a preset) setting one with wah and other as volume. I highly recommend the QC though, its great!!
@@ianrussellmarshall thanks. And that kind of sucks. Even the Headrush I currently own can do this
@@henrikdahlberg878 it does but the scene feature could do so much more.
Do you need to connect two TRS cables to use the toe switch? Or it works with just one cable connected?
No, you don’t need two cables but to get all the features you do need to have two.
Does the pedal board attachment kit come with the SP1-ND? Or buy separately?
No, it’s something you have to buy separately. Annoying, I know!
Great video! I'm trying to use the expression pedal for my quad cortex and I found this video! Thank you so much for the help!!
Yeah. I’m glad you enjoyed. The video is a fantastic expression pedal.
just opened mine...it also had that white stuff on the mechanism like yours...is that a lube of some sort?
Yes, that is lubrication to ensure that the device run smoothly in the mechanism part of it. It’s perfectly normal.
Hey Ian, wondering if you can assign the pedal to different parameters for different scenes??
Hey man, you can. I think the scenes save all assignment information. So yes
@@ianrussellmarshall I was trying it out and I don’t think you can or atleast it’s not letting me
Hi Ian, couldn't find your Temple Audio board build video? I just screwed the Mission pedal feet back on through my Duo 24 and it worked a treat, perhaps you did the same?
Hey Bernie, will be putting the Temple Audio Board build video up next week. I used the Pedal Riser plate from mission audio, cost a bit more but worked really well. Nice hack on screwing through the board.
@@ianrussellmarshall Hi Ian, thanks for your reply. I saw the riser when ordering the pedal but wondered if it was necessary. What do you feel is the advantage of using the riser? As I mentioned, I found just screwing the feet back on through the TA Board provides a really rock solid solution. I guess the feet could perish overtime as they don't have metal washers, but just wondering why you feel the riser is particularly advantageous? I love the way the T A Pedal Board surface holes perfectly align with the pedal's dimensions allowing for solid quick attachment.
@@bernie_smith no worries Bernie, I think the main advantage you get from using the pedal riser is that you get a completely flat surface to attach the pedals to the temple audio board using the Quickdraw system. I think this is the main benefit. I wanted to use the quick draws to allow easy access to take the pedals off if needed. If you do go down the quick draw system, I used four medium sized quick draws to hold the expression pedal to the TA board.
@@ianrussellmarshall Hi Ian, ah now I understand. Thanks. Coincidentally, I bought the RockBoard TRS cables too!! Kind regards.
@@bernie_smith nice, those Rock Board cables are great. In my board build video that’s coming out next week, you’ll see I managed to fit the QC and the SP1 ND on to a Temple Audio Duo 17.
Implementation of external pedals is bad on Quad Cortex. Why can't we use 2 of these pedals? I don't think the pedal is worth its money. But this is more a problem of Neural not of Mission. I have sent my pedal back
Hey Mr Timewindx, sorry to hear you’ve not had a good time with it. I found it absolutely flawless, works perfectly fine for me and the things that I do. I think you can use two expression pedals at the same time and you don’t have to use it in the configuration that I have. What did you go for instead?
@@ianrussellmarshall Is it possible to use one of these pedals as a wah and the other as a volume pedal? Or like the Line6 Helix that you balance your guitar volume with your micrpohone/voca volume.l
