I blame it on my entrance It may have seemed too much like confidence Let me start it over Help me get to what I can from when I did [Chorus] All that I know is how I can hold on All that you see is how I let go (Take me back, please) [Verse 2] Had to leave my reasons It may have seemed too much, the consequence And in your busy, dizzy life You will become everything you said you would [Chorus] All that I know is how I can hold on All that you see is how I let go So how about once around?
I remember ripping this on Napster back in 98/99 and thinking the download messed up when it got to the static part... Then a year or two later bought the actual CD and was like, "oohhhhhhhh!"
Ive been a JEW fan for 20 years now. Ive seen them play multiple times, have all the albums, know all the songs, B,-sides and deep cuts... except this! I've never heard this song before! HOW!?
Can't believe that this, softer and sweetness were cut from clarity. I personally think the album would have been much more successful with these being on the tracklist.
For what i know, it was the label that didn't want sweetness on the record, not the band - might be wrong tho But yeah, no ideia why softer and rq didn't get in, they're absolutely fantastic Wish they were available in the streaming services
JEW just posted an archive video of one of their shows in ‘98 and I had to listen to this song. This needs to be on Spotify. Also, seeing this live was one of my favorite JEW moments.
I used to be able to play this on guitar, but I have no idea how Jim managed to sing at the same time; the pacing is very weird when you try to do it, and it's not like it was a studio only song where the guitar was played then a vocal track was added; he can play this live.
Rightfully so, the lyrics are what makes books enthralling. He envokes his feelings about a situation, yet doesn't say anything about the actual context or scene. His recollections are so suggestive that we can paint a perfect picture in our heads. The lyrics are powerful, precisely because they count on the listeners to fill in the gaps.
For whatever reason, when I hear this song, I see myself driving the Delorean from Back to the Future down my lamp-lit street at midnight, going back to 2004, and kissing an old crush of mine. I'd jump back in my car, head back to 2011, and see what kind of effect THAT butterfly has on the world.
I looked for this song for 15 years. Only being able to hum the melody.
OMG. This unlocked a 24 year old memory
Forgot about this gem! Thankful it came back around.
Core memories unlocked.❤
This and 12.23.95 are my favourite JEW songs. Had they done a whole album of this 'fuzzy emogaze', what could've been? Guess we'll never know.

Jim can layer a song like no other. Watching them play Clarity live was a life highlight.
Played this first on a plane back from the states. Thought my cd player Jack was fooked half way through the song. 😆 great song. 👍🏻
Anyone know how to get those reverb and delay settings? Love it
How come this EP isn't on Spotify!
I remember ripping this on Napster back in 98/99 and thinking the download messed up when it got to the static part... Then a year or two later bought the actual CD and was like, "oohhhhhhhh!"
Same dude. Such a good bit as well

How does this song fill me with so much nostalgia when I heard it for the first time this year

Between 1998 and 2006, Jimmy eat world was peak emo
Don't discount static prevails!! Great second wave emo record

One of my favorite uploads. It feels like such a niche, encapsulated in the 90s.
Early jimmy eat world is best jimmy eat world
One of my favorite songs of ALL TIME. So much adolescence tangled up on this song.
man they used to be so great
One of the most underrated songs ever
This is SUCH a Clarity song. God I love old JEW.
Why aren't either selftitleds on spotify or the Jimmy eat world topic?
Long out of print I assume.
Zach Lind said re recording it is something they have considered. I’m sure it’ll be once they’re done making music for good.
Awesome song!!!
This song has been always associated by me with lonely summer breezy evening. One of their best songs.

Jim Adkins is incredible at playing difficult guitar parts and singing at the same time.
Things are easy when you're the writer. Playing someone else's songs and singing is more difficult.
Awesome song...speaks to the heart🎸🎶😎🤘
One of the best EP's ever made so damn good. It's a shame that this song and Softer didn't appear in Clarity.
I always felt like this song and Softer should have been in Clarity!
@@praterjoe me too, i’d kill to have this at LEAST be on spotify
Thank you for posting. This song brings back some serious memories
One of the best Jimmy Eat World songs ever! I still get chills every time I hear it!
Can't.Stop.Listening.On.Repeat.
No album. This, Softer, and Sweetness were cut from Clarity.
What album is this?
Terminator 0326 it's only on this EP.
What a gem of a song. I miss this JEW :(
You're totally right Kyle =) I kind of wanted JEW to proceed further in this direction.
Yeah. Futures sounded like the beginning of the end.
@@aleswanson4152 yeah, but i'd also say that integrity blues was a big comeback for them, in terms of quality that record is awesome
fanfreakingtastic
Is it possible not to like this song?
One of Nate's (from Fun.) favorite lyrics!

By far one of the greatest Jew songs

This song is a lost treasure.I love it. :D
@PurpleMsNicky no problem
Thanks for this video!
I am the 666th viewer. lol
awesome track used to listen to this on the beach in mexico watching the waves crash....
I would listen to this on long road trips in Mexico as a kid...
I blame it on my entrance. It may have seemed too much, like confidence.
Always been one of my fave rarities
