Hate jhs. But maybe Josh can help you w your sterile tone.
Michael Gettel and David Arkenstone scored the most important moments of my life.
Amazing. A good chunk of motivational brainwashing playlist.
Michael's album, "The Art of Nature" has been a part of my life for 30 years. I listen to it literally once a week or more. Truly a wonderful and talented musicians. I will be forever grateful. May God continue to bless you all! 💕💕
Would you like to see another interview with Michael? He and I have discussed the possibility to get an update on his current projects.
@@TitanCoach Absolutley! I'd love to hear what Michael is working on, collaborations, producing, engineering, personal hobbies, favorite travel places, etc! Also, who is Michael listening to right now. Does he have a favorite musician or group?
Setting up a call with Michael. I will pass your input along..
Woah that's so cool !
Great interview.
Thanks Glen!

Love how you addressing how we can often feel stuck in what we are doing 🙌
You don't know me son
Fake
David Goggins is trash
They don't play the same movies over and over. There are new ones every unrep.
Well, according to politicians 19 year olds can be trist with responsibility! Lol
Others had $200M engine rooms.. Non-Vets will never understand.
I served with Gabe in the early 90s.
That's great Peter. Are you still in touch with Gabe?
That's weird because they are mostly older people that fly. There's a lot of training that goes into this.
Right on. I have a ton of respect for the commitment they have.
Love how inspirational this conversation is!
Thanks so much Jenn!
All - If you enjoyed this interview with Gabe please let me know in the comments what specifically resonated with you. Also I would really appreciate knowing what you would like to see more of in the future. Finally, If you haven't already, I would really appreciate you subscribing to my channel. Thanks!! - Joe
I'm wired to transition via hrt and cosmetic surgery
Not really the focus of my channel. Wishing you well.
1:28 'i don't say I have that problem' - he definitely has that problem. Unbelievable talent.
Agreed!
This was a great and encouraging episode, Joe! Thank you for introducing us to John Nathan Cordy, and sharing your chat together. I appreciated how you both discussed musicianship, building a consistent work flow, and the importance of truly connecting with your work and trusting the process. One of my fav quotes John says here is “Each thing that you put out is like a marker for “today“ (a point in time).” Another is: “DO things rather than overthinking things! Stop waiting for something to be a different state. INSTEAD, as you put yourself out into the world, opportunities happen, the journey is where the growth happens. You get better as you go.” I appreciated that fresh reminder! Thanks again, Joe! Well done, and thanks for being on Titans of Transition, John! I’m happy to know of your work now!
Thank you @KelseyLeeCate ! As another talented musician this means a lot! I’ve enjoyed your live streams as well! Joe
Great coaching advise and podcast. We should intermittently stop and assess what our fulfillment meter reads! But before that define what the F word means for ourselves to find a path forward! Loved it!
Glad you enjoyed this episode!
Caru is great. I am on her newsletter list. You might consider it. She delivers some great gems via email on a regular basis. Onward!
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview and am going to recommend it to people I know who are thinking about career fulfillment and transition.
Thanks Don! I appreciate it. - Joe
Currently my favourite guitarist. Love Mr S’s music.
I heard "city lights" , and thought... this is everything I like in guitar playing and composition, and was the discovery that I held in high regard, just as I did with Roy Buchanan, Steve Morse, Django Rhrienhardt, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Johnson.. as well as fingerstylist Doyle Dykes. All these players have their own sound, but I love everything they do, although they are quite different. Steffens is in that group of greats that resonate with my musical ear and I just love his stuff compositionally, as well as in execution. Shawn Lane excites me compositionally more than his guitar playing (which is awesome) but all these others, I recognise that undefinable quality that makes it all work. Often I hear sounds in my head, but can't quite play it, and then I hear someone like Steffen and realise he is playing just what I've heard in my imagination!
Chris - sorry it took me a while to respond personally. But, so true! I am trying to line up a follow up interview with Steffen. He's been quite busy lately. I will keep on it.
I was laid off from my dream job making 6 figures when I was a month from turning 50 on a Friday. The next Wednesday I started my own company and sold it nine years later when the business crashed and pursued a different career right before I turned 60. It can be tough to change careers as you get older but it can be done.
The Best pianist for me , since Narada until these days, very great songs, music to the heart.
Going to see if I can get Michael back on for another discussion of his current projects..
This was great... Thanks, I enjoyed
Great - I think he might be working on a new album project. Keep an eye out for that!
So great to be with you, Joe, and your audience on Titans of Transition!
It was great having you on the show / podcast Dan!
Please don't blame me. I have heard/seen only the beginning of this video. I want to recommend Christian songs, from: Elisabeth Hiebert Susie Funk The Brandenberger Family Country Road Ramblers Ministerio ExaltaJesus Impacto Vertical Jesus is what we need!
They thought you to be wary of the witches but to never question the ones who burned them alive!
@@mauricebelec7237I think that there are some very bad people, also today. But, do you know Rory Gallagher? Perhaps he wanted to be a Christian, I don't know it, but: He said "God bless you" to the audience. (Rory Gallagher - Live at the Bottom Line Club New York, 11.11.1978, the Late Show).
Of these folks / bands - which is your favorite?
Thanks for the advice :)
You bet!
Great musician!👌🏻
So true! Working on having him back on.
Thanks Joe. Couldn't agree more ! I'm also a fan of Tim Ferriss. And I've dedicated some time in the past to to-do-lists management, following David Allen's principle. I like this idea of a not-to-do-list !
Swinging back... recently I came across another useful tip, especially for those like me with so many interests. Bob Goff has this practice of quitting something every week. I think on Thursday - LOL. It's a hedge against the tendency to add more things to one's plate organically. wishing you well..
Michael Gettel finally speaks at 4:02 - Great interview! Gettel holds a place in my childhood! Great to see hes doing good!
I think we will do another episode together. Keep checking back or subscribe. Working on scheduling it.
Life is really weird I started listening to this dude 14 years ago… ya.. some of the best music I’ve ever listened to and actually found myself. especially city lights and ElectriGuitartistry I’d play him all the time, especially when I needed inspiration, and I still do but fast forward now I have a Swedish wife and her dad is danish and I just found out this dude is danish!
Johnny, I'm glad the episode filled in the gaps for you and yes, that's a wild connection to your wife and father in law. Rock on!
I'm guessing you found him through the Candyrat channel? Great stuff!
Some great artists on Candyrat. Some of the acoustic players are amazing!

Late to the party, but if you see him again, I hope he knows just how much his music has meant to me. I grew up with it, my mother would play it all the time in the house during my formative years. Gettel's music is a core memory, and I know that even after my mother passes, his music will always bring back happy memories of my childhood. Thank you, and Michael, for the enduring legacy.
I passed along your message to Michael. Thanks! Joe @@downeastbeast6448
Hey there! I am so honored the music has lifted you and your Mom up!🙏. Thanks for letting me travel with you. Here’s to new music soon!❤️😃👍👍. Best always, Michael

I just heard “The Art of Nature.” Percussion, piano, talent, arrangement! Amazing talent you are sir! You rival Richard Souther, Thomas Newman. I admire your talent.
This man inspired me to buy my first electric guitar! Thank you!
Patrick - I agree but in my case I was inspired to dig in deeper into finding my own voice on the guitar. Keep playing!
@@TitanCoach Part of it was that as well! Cheers!
That's awesome, been playing 50 years. Love it. Keep jamming.
I was and still am a huge fan of many of the Narada musicians. They shaped me more than they may know in the 80's and 90's. Periodically I've tried to find out what happened to Mr. Gettel because of the long period of no new music. I wrote to him years ago and he was kind enough to reply, and I gathered he was just in a new phase in life. Just as I'd become complacent with the fact that many of my musical inspirations were 'done' or retired, I discovered the fact that "The View from Here" existed via a completely random search on Instagram. Now I'm very pleased to not only enjoy a new album, but learn a bit about one of my all-time favorite musicians through this (and the newer) interview. Thank you very much.
I am really glad you enjoyed the interviews. Michael and I are thinking of doing another to discuss the process post launch of his new CD. I may even do a live stream so he can take some questions from viewers. All the best to you! - Joe Miller
I really loved this!!! Victoria you are so amazing!!!!
Thanks ! I’m so glad you enjoyed the episode. Yes, Victoria is amazing. ❤️
Steffen Schackinger was an early adopter of Suhr. He really was playing them on youtube before most people were. The first time ive seen people use a suhr on youtube is him and Guthrie Govan.
Yes, that's true. As I said in the video hearing Steffen on a his Suhr modern really moved me forward to purchase my first Suhr. I have two currently. Rock on!
I loved Michael’s music since 1990!!! So glad you are back Michael!!!
I follow starting you from "The art of nature". 😃
An underappreciated pianist. He's written soundtracks to blockbuster films that haven't been created yet.
Really looking forward to hearing it!
Michael - I was working on one of the pages for the 2022 Greene Country Calendar while listening to the podcast and was actually crosshatching shadows on a horse when you mentioned getting back on the horse after 20 years!😄 Serendipity rides again! (Pete Zapadka sent me the link) Ride ‘em cowboy! Can’t wait for the single!
