In this video i go over the pros and cons of the bmw z3, enjoy! & subscribe for more content like this!
Brave man tackling that console replacement, especially for a beginner. Well done!
Thank you!
That's a major job as that crank bolt is 300 ft lbs (410 nm) on my 1993 m50. The rest of your engine looks super clean.
The bolt was indeed very tight, i was happy to get a helping hand!
cool channel,,i have bmw z3 in philippines
Thank you!
i really like the channle keep it up. really cool Z3
I appreciate that!
Great job !
Thank you!
First you have to remove the suspension and engine. If you are not remove these things, both engine rails are not in position because there is a stress point which is so you have to pull it back and also use a little bit of heat.
I’ll keep this in mind!
All great points and accurate, the Z3's interior is so simple and pleasing; you don't get many things to play with but a welcoming, relaxing, and ready-for-fun interior. Also I can confirm, the 4 years I've owned my Z3, it is very easy to work on for maintenance and upgrades. And if you get one with an M54 it is quite reliable as well.
anyone buying Z make sure your getting Z3m you will love it its such amazing little dragon
Shits twice the price fam
i have z3 1.9 1998 ,,,like your video ,,can you make video how to change the fuel filter, and how to fix the seats moving
I fixed the seat bushing in the video of cleaning the interior. For a more detailed explanation i would suggest to go to the channel of “momentsofzed”
The fuel filter is located on the underbody under the drivers seat, covered by a thermal shield. Remove 4 screws/nuts and remove the shield. You should prepare 2 new ~7cm pieces of fuel hose to replace as well, if they are >20 years old. They are conncected by standard hose clamps (also replace if old!). The fuel line going to the engine bay will probably leak about 500ml of fuel, so prepare a catch tank for this. After the fuel filter change, cycle the ignition key a couple of times to get rid of the air and there you go. You can probably find some e36 / e46 content that shows you how its done.
I recently purchased a 986 boxster. Looked at the z3 but wanted something a little quicker, plus I was struggling to find one without rust issues. Still, every time i drive past a z3 i admire it fondly. Maybe one day ill get one if Porsche ownership gets too much for me.
I can imagine that car is fun to drive!
MX5 is a better car
Why?
@jonasbrne suspension , handling , more nimble and lighter . As for the looks I think the NC MX5 also looks better than the BMW .
@@carlosifer hmm makes sense, maybe i’ll give it a try!
@@carlosifer I would agree that the MX5 is probably a better car overall, but perhaps the creator of this video just wanted something a bit different, that's what keeps the car community exciting. The BMW probably is also a bit more comfortable for long trips etc and is a bit more of a GT car. The option of inline 6 engines in the Z4 is nice to have even if not all of them make much power, such a nice sound from an I6 engine compared to the common sound of the inline 4 (ITBs on an MX5 does sound great though). As for looks I would say both are good looking cars, but out of all the MX5s I would have to say the NC is actually the ugliest (in my opinion only). I would have a hard time picking which is my favourite looking out of the NA, NB, ND and Z4 however. I guess it also depends on the trim or version (NB8As don't look as good as an NB8B on an NB SE/Mazdaspeed). Of course at the end of the day looks are mostly subjective.
It may be better, but it’s not as cool. 😎
Driving Z3 bring me joy and smile, also got complement by people around. Si far I don't have much problems to keep it running. Can't hate it 😎
Good to hear!
Hi echoing those comments great to see your passion for this car. Am looking at my own z3 project, do you still have the alloys that the car came with when you bought it by any chance?
Thank you! I sold the alloys that came with the car sadly
Always great to see your content on the BMW Z3! Maybe you can show why you bought this one in particular and not another Z3 on the market. How did the Z3 crossed path with you?
Thank you, i’ll make sure to share that in another video!
got to 2.00 minutes ...had to puke form all the waving camera footage ....bad
Waving camera footage is the best?
SINCE you were that far, why didn't you just pull the carpet out and pressure wash it clean?
Haven’t thought of that tbh… i’ll keep that in mind next time i am doing this. Thanks
Looks awesome
new wheels make a whole different car! happy you chose this style, its one of the best bmw wheels for this car.
Um... no detail on how you did the brakes, thankfully. By your own admission, a simple job done incorrectly at every stage. Also what's with the shirtless bits?
Thanks for the feedback mate, i didnt know it was a crime to be shirtless
@@jonasbrne it's the context I guess. No offence to me but there are too many click bait automotive channels with semi-clad ladies and if you want to take your content seriously I'd humbly suggest greasy overalls! 😅
also it's so wild that a Z3 has solid disc rotors up front!
not me clicking into the video because of the shirtless thumbnail
😂
Lol buying an 25 Year Old car brings some small problems with it. I've the same car, and you just need to care about em. I don't know what you expected ;) Buy a 25 Years old VW or Renault. And look what you get there ;)
Sub to see maintenance video. I have 98 1.9.
Thanks, the previous video I did an entire maintenance job.
Nice job 👍👍 I also bought a Z3 this summer and your videos really help me, thanks. Where do you find the rubber door seal?
Thanks for your comment! I bought the door seal second hand. Pretty sure you can easily order them from bmw.
Good job!! Keep up the good work 😎
Thank you!
Good Work Man!
Thanks! ✅
i dont care what anyone says drive it with some KW v2 toyo proxes 265 rear 245 front my M roadster is canyon weapon
i bought a z3 a couple months ago as my first car and im absolutely in love with it, cant wait to see where you take this!!
nice
nice color
New subscriber here, i owned a 97 z3
Awesome job! 🍻🥂 Please make more videos of the Z3!😊 I also have a ‘98 1.9 Automatic in the UK. So do more videos to give some new ideas about what to do and how to do! 🛠️🔨🔧 Thanks in advance!!!
I never seen or heard of the window cover. Can you make a video, post photos or part numbers please?
I made a video on lowering the soft top and I show the BMW cover.
The center console is such a pain to remove. Great job on the Z3!
Thanks!
wow!! good job!
Thank you!
🤩🤩🤩 great job
dude i’m loving it. keep going!
Nice one! keep posting.
Why do you sealed the rubber on the pillar? For me it is the hole for to drain the water or I’m wrong?
it actually does the opposite for some reason, when it rains pretty heavy it drips down through there and gets all over your legs and it sucks lol
My 2002 2.5i has the original rear window cover. Dropping the top like you did can scratch the rear window, the cover attaches to the top and drapes over the window so when you put the top down, it protects the window. Also, later models have a headliner... the top has two layers of cloth... the bars are hidden, and probably more quiet as you do 'donuts'... 😊 I am very much enjoying mine.
Thanks for the tip!
Nice car is it 1.9 4 calendar @@jonasbrne
Truly a very honest guy! I love my ‘97 1.9l manual. The thrill of driving short and long distances at different speeds is amazing. I can use the gears to experience speed or go for a leisurely cruise.
Enjoy the car!
@@jonasbrne thank you, I love it more every time I get behind the steering and I am 76 years old.
Love it
Nice!
As some unsolicited advice, but coming out of many many hours & cash spent because of this issue, first thing you should do with this engine is check the cooling system & make sure it is properly vented. They can be a pain in this sense
I’ll make sure to check that out! Thanks
Reliable? Haven't heard this in so long when talking about BMWs. 😅
😅
Ive had my E36 M3 for 6.5 years and have put about 45k miles in it since then. I daily drive it everywhere. It has never left me stranded. Reliable? So far, yes, it has been. But then again I maintain the shhhhh out of it. Good owner = great car
@I.Odnamra means you found a car from an "insane" person as yourself. Unfortunately, in my case I was the only one to do so, but hey at least the next owner is going to be happy 😅
Like with any used car that you want to buy regular maintenance is important to check. Later BMWs are a pain due to the sensors and on-board computers that most mechanics find difficult to work on.
Goe bezug
Nice one! looking forward to more of this! btw, is the car for sale?
Thanks! Not for sale for the moment
Nice car
Thanks!
