I wish the audio recording here was as good as the old Madison Square Garden performance, which is simply devastating. I was never a particular fan of the Zeps but Achilles is a masterpiece, and I do have a real soft spot for Jimmy Page. I can't understand why he gets so much criticism. This is rock music folks, not the conservatory, and Page helped invent it.
These guys were drenching wet,.... showing how much they LOVE to perform.. Robert Plant was incredible, Jimmy Page was a force to be recognized with ,(unimaginable) & Robert Lee gave his heart out as drummer!!! OMG!! INCREDIBLE!!!
With that other one, I always thought oh heroin this cocaine that then they go like bhooof waaaaaang with all sorts of mega - tiny people looking behind at Stairway, but aksherlly the new and the different sail and soar oh yes. The weird majestic fitting over it all lke a glove - crikey!
A golden heart stopped beating. Hard-working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best. Thank you Michael Lee for your time and dedication that you put into Page & Plant to bring out that Zeppelin sound.. Not just I love you, but WE all love you..Rest In Peace ..🫶🙏❤️
The playing is tight Jimmy’s def back in form on this one yes there were a few live performances where he was consumed by his obvious addictions but even those(1983) where he was a physical wreck and suffering his muscle memory enabled him to play with scary abandon as he was lost in the sound and moment not perfect but still the Jimmy that we love and he shared his painful moments with us Thanks for the music you guys
I feel like this song, Ten Years Gone and the Rain Song are hardcore fan favorites in terms of deep cuts. It’s a bummer that they didn’t get played much post Zep. I’ve seen Robert solo a good handful of times and he always seems to stick to the same radio staples like Going to Cali, Whole Lotta And Rock n Roll. I’d trade two of those for one of these. But I realize it doesn’t work that way. 😊
I am so jealous of that Atlanta crowd. This may have been the only time Page/Plant played this outside of Zep. And dare I say, this version may surpass any live Zep recording I’ve heard. 1. They have the bonus guitarist, the incomparable Porl Thomson. He especially helped make the song “the song remains the same” shine, helping Page duplicate that guitarmy he created on the studio albums. 2. (Bootleg) Recording technology has improved. 3. Way back when Zep was touring, Page was often intoxicated on Jack Daniel’s and Heroin. Of course, no one could replace Bonzo, but hell, Michael Lee totally nails it here, in this non-drummer’s opinion. There’s also an awesome version of this that features Chili Pepper drummer Chad Smith kicking ass. I find this song even more epic than Kashmir. In My Time of Dying is also an underrated favorite. Lastly, there are certainly harder rock songs (speed and thrash metal) and guitarists who can shred faster and louder than Page, but the last section starting at 8:50 gets me so damn excited, the fast and chunk palm-muted riffage plus Plant’s ah ah ah.
Who else recognized a hint of part of this song, a foreshadowing, if you will, right before “if you’re going to California” during Dazed on the live SRTS album?
SI!!)
achiles last stand, najlesie zahrana skladba od cias led zeppelin.tak tiez michael lee je fantastickyjimmy page je super, robert to tiez zvlada hlasovo,je to silna dinamicka skladba, cely album presence je fantasticky.chyba mi tam john paul jones.skoda.
Why would they only play this twice? Weird.
2nd time I have listened to ALS today - never get tired of it.

Page is OK since he quit heroin in 1982. But without Bonzo's drums, it just wasn't the same
Hammer Of The Gods in full display! Greatest Band Ever!
looks like Robert takes a little kip at 5:00
This voice - soooooo good ❤
👍👍👍💪💪💪🙋♀️
Robert lived Lee very much!! Always honored him with his attention!! Dear Lee!! 😢🤗😘
❤❤❤❤

Robert points his finger to the sky for Bonzo when he sings “as I turned to you, you smiled at me”. He was there in spirit.
The Gods came together and it was LED ZEPPELIN
There is only 3 drummers who in my opinion can in "Led Zeppelin" John Bonham, Jason Bonham and the drummer in this performance Michael Lee
Classic to say the least!!!

I saw Plant and Page in 98 but they didn't play this 😢SWEET 😅
When Bonham passed away, there was a piece of the puzzle missing, but when they found Michael Lee, the puzzle is now complete .👍❤
To bad he as passed away ❤️

Dumbest comment I've ever read on social media
Some said Plant had an 8" penis, well I match him Inch for inch
What a band!!
One of my favorite Zep songs!
I think we can all agree all songs from Led Zeppelin are a master piece ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It is an absolute crime of humanity that they didn’t do this in 2007.

I love all the old school moves Page and Plant make during the song, and Jimmy and Percy absolutely kick ass here.
Michael Lee kicks ass
My oh my oh my wow!
My favorite performance is 1979 knebworth show!! Awesome with the greatest drummer John Bonham
You all got that right!!! GOAT !!!

Is the other guitar an overdub or geezer playing it in the shadows?
鬼気迫ると感じる😮❤🎉
WTF lol😂 I'm 57 and I know you are older but Bad Ass.😊
Page was jamming perfectly. Plant sounded really good. The DRUMMER is about the closest to BONZO'S sound as I have EVER HEARD.
Who is the drummer?
I prefer the sound of the bass here than how it was done live in the '70s. The drums not so much!

Jimmy killed it on here
At least Jimmy doesn't appear to be out of it for this performance.
sounds like a shitty club band!
Plant is just en fuego here
