I lived and skied in Vail for 20 years. Went through the development of the mountain - Lionshead, gondolas , high speed quads, etc, and "the Beav". We rarely skied there. "Birds Of Prey" was a great powder run - until they turned it into a sheet of ice.
Your mind would really just be focused on the course and your own skiing, I personally don’t listen to sounds outside my racing either, I’m not at the same speeds so I’ll hear a lot more but I always try to keep the sounds away
He lost 2 seconds on two turns , then some more time when he missed his line for 3 gates. He needs to be stronger and quicker and drop his hip down the hill more and get off his edge earlier.

We can but we don’t pay any attention to it
