As the sound capture on the video was poor I switched on the 'subtitles'. They are hilarious, especially the part about not invading Switzerland. This is a relief to us all, I'm sure. (For the record I am an ardent RSP supporter) Switzerland may breathe easily.

In what world does 8 flights a night between 11.00pm and 6.00am constitute no night flights. Why have they not removed the night time quota they have applied for from the DCO then ?? Even the examiners of the DCO have said after looking at RSP submission there will be night flights. If any one is telling lies it's Tony Freudmann the struck off solicitor

At 4mins 45 minutes in, officer Adrian Verrell stated that after professional advice, BOTH options 1 and 2, passed the whole plan viablity test. Therefore Option 2 isn’t unsound!

Based upon Cll BB comments the 2 year period for Manston Airport commences once the local plan is accepted.

At 45 minutes in, Madeleine Homer (CEO) confirms to Cllr Ash Ashbee that Option 2 is the best one to save Manston Airport.

This proves how ludicrous it will be to put thousands more houses on the Isle of Thanet, all inhabitants using the toilet, washing machines, dish washers, baths, showers, in an already water-short area! The government needs to stop this housing madness in the SE immediately!

I would question his commitment and integrity. struck off as a solicitor for 23 counts of stealing clients' funds and has repeatedly failed to make Manston a success as a commercial airport. £479 million without including the cost of purchasing the land from the rightful owner? The numbers don't add up. he should employ an accountant.

Fair comment, but Thanet's reaction does not have much of a connection to Bolton's problems or indeed to party as a whole.

Very disappointed that there will be no 1,000db planes flying either by day or night using Manston Airport. Heathrow will pay compensation in the form of insulation of properties to residents if the noise level if it goes over 4db. Modern planes usually reach 2 db on landing and take off.

The majority of TDC councillors have seen sense at last and realise that the Local Plan as it stood, was flawed. The right decision was made.

Chris Well's is a disgrace !. The Local Plan must be evidence based ?. Well's has based it on a flawed Avia Report and his own pocket lining agenda. Roll on the next local elections when this disgrace of a councillor will get his come uppance.There is plenty of room for houses elsewhere in Thanet and still be able to retain Manston as an airport.Funny how Well's changed his viewpoint after his trip up North.Come on RSP and the Planning Inspectorate !

Good to know the DCO is almost ready for submission and that the “news” published by TDC & SHP will not affect it, as Policy EC4 is still in force. That is Aviation Only! Manston still is an airport.

When Mr Angus Walker was asked at the consultation why Wragges were dropped in favour of DBD he stated that he believed that it was due to their failure to flag up the possibility of a DCO route. Could it have been that Wragges didn't flag up this route as a possibility as the scheme they were proposing simply didn't meet the DCO criteria?

Anyone who really knows what is going on with the DCO process and RSP's current position, will know that RiverOak has followed PINS advice throughout and have followed the government rules to the letter. They DID advertise locally as well as nationally. If people didn't see it, that is NOT RSP's fault! There will be more consultations about the flight paths next year, so those who keep going on about living under the flight path and are worried, will get their chance to see the proposed plans in 2018. Not RiverOak's decision btw. Timetable is also dictated by government, not RiverOak and definitely not TDC. I do have to question why people live near an airport, then moan about aeroplane noise. It is like people who move to a tiny village and moan about the church bells, or move close to a farm and moan about farm smells and noises and moan about tractors in the road.

An excellent video about where the DCO for Manston Airport is. After all their hard work, RiverOak definitely seem to be on track for getting their DCO granted in the next few months. It has recently been designated for Aviation Only by the government PINS department too, so that means NO HOUSES!

Riveroak have lied, told half truths & consistently evaded questions as to the adverse impact Manston reopening will have on towns like Ramsgate & Herne Bay. They have deliberately not properly consulted people under the flight path it will adversely affect. Manston isn't even in your constituency If you live in Thanet you should be very worried indeed by their plans

A misleading description to this video. The original draft of the report went through Overview & Scrutiny and thanks to the vigilance of campaigners and local councillors, the fact that it initially appeared to pre-empt a Local Plan decision to support Stone Hill Park's plans for the airport site was noticed. O&S requested Officers to reword the report so that it gave even weighting to both options. The officers did this, and that was included in the final version of the report that the Cabinet passed at this meeting. The matter brought up by Councillor Savage was completely separate, that he felt the benefits of an Airport should be more important in the report than the port which has competition from Dover and his opinion was that it wouldn't work as a ferry port.

It love this! Its very spooky that garden cities are being mentioned again today via the media the government are actively promoting them even though "Garden city" really means densely packed houses &'tiny bedrooms that you can't fit a wardrobe in! Who is hoodwinking! These investors who promise to fund the garden cities are really only filling their deep pockets with more cash! The problem is their "us & them mentality! the majorityof our current government are public school educated and live in a different world to us it suits them to pass responsibility for housing onto any investor who coffers to foot the bill! The great God "money" is going to get rid of a national asset & the means of providing future employment for 100 s of local people! The aircraft industry in general is in a state of huge expansion on a global level & our access to Europe is a huge asset! The Americans can see it why can't our short sighted TDC councillors se it! Garden cities or jobs for our future children! No contest for me! Like the German people! We could at one time claim ignorance, we didn't know what was being done in our name!
