Promote Reading For In-Depth Learning in ESL Classrooms

In this webinar, France Destroismaisons (with fellow ESL teacher, Cesar Augusto Castillo Losada) discussed the Reading for In-Depth Learning Framework (ELLiL Project Partners, 2023) outlining its key elements and principles designed to enhance students’ deep understanding of social topics presented in literary, informational and other multimodal texts. Sunny Lau from Bishop’s University (an ELLiL researcher) led a dialogue with France to explore how the framework can be effectively used to integrate and promote the three ESL competencies into lesson planning and design.
