Driving impact in Kenya’s health sector through strategic advocacy
The African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP) and Partners in Population and Development Africa Regional Office (PPD-ARO), through the Advance Domestic Health Financing (ADHF) project, work with stakeholders, including governments, in Africa to realise provision of universal health coverage to citizens.

They don't have malaria specific medications. What they gave you was an umbrella medication that has been used for decades to treat bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections. You received peniciliin. Africans think every sickness is malaria malaria malaria. This is false. Sometimes its flu, herpes simplex, hiv early stage, typhoid, cholera, pneumonia, liver failure, food poisoning, etc.

The issues around population , health, environment and development are really key for sustainable development. Currently there are weak linkages between these nexus and most programs are operate in silos (vertical). lntegration is really important for more effectiveness and efficiency. However, there is insufficient knowledge on the benefits of cross-sectoral integration, and therefore the need to generate evidence. This evidence can be used for advocacy to stakeholders in developing evidence-based policies.

Very nice video, I’ve been lucky not to experience malaria which is very bizarre but it’s also bizarre given how lethal it is that we are still chasing an effective vaccine or approach to preventing it after multiple decades of research. Incidentally I did a small stint in a malaria vaccine research lab for my undergraduate degree attachment in 2001. That’s more than 20 years ago now!
