This method should also work for a Lexus LX570, although there may be more wiring harnesses to unclip under the seat.

Interesting. I researched that bubbly material and found that it's original adhesive that melted into its blob-shape, through high power input. I suspect I have the exact same problem on my L-100's and need to do the 'surgery' that you demonstrated. 2 pair of them, so I could be busy for a while. I like the Dremel idea. If I can eradicate the scratchiness in my drivers, I will be very happy. I'm glad you made this video.
🎵🎶🎵🎶
Ive just bought this same unit and the dvr dashcam that comes with the rear camera, the thing is that the rear camera that comes with dashcam is for recording whats going on behind you. So can it be installed along side the 360 system 🤔
Hey Evan where are they located on a 2018 model?
@@kevinhoward6564 I'd assume the same place. Not many changes for 2016+ TLC's, mostly cosmetic.
Yeah I seem to not find it
Mine is in Australia so I have been looking passenger side on mine
How did you take you take the last fender bolt off the top one u never show in the video
👍🏼👍🏼
Hahaaaaa love it , love the commentary!!!!! Into love my ATR-102. You just can’t beat the sound, look and performance!!!
A spring from kizer and some bearings and your straight
👍👍👍👍
I just got the new UAD (native) Ampex ATR 102 plugin!! FUCK THAT HEAVY ASS PIECE OF HARDWARE!! 🖕🏽 🤣🤣🤣 Nah dude I'm just playin... lol thats really dope that you have the actual machine though. 💯💪🏽 I'm lovin this plugin tho.. 💪🏽
Everything except the blade can be fine tuned to perfection on that clone. I have a couple of D2 steel clones that outperform any factory Bugout any day. No idea who uses tryflow to lube knives especially without opening but you did it wrong buddy.
I repaired one recently ,1989 Toyota truck 22 R. The idle circuit had a rough idle, other than that vehicle ran fine. You had too keep youre right foot on the gas pedal slightly while idling. Coincidentally mine just happened too be a twofold problem. After removal of of the fuel cutoff solenoid and observing the tip of the solenoid while it was energized even though the solenoid clicked, there was hardly any movement of the pintle valve tip that I could see. I sprayed carb cleaner through the tip with a long nozzle and nothing went through it. Finally after working with it for awhile it unstuck itself and now it shows a nice spray pattern out of the spraying nozzle orifices. The second part of the idle problem was a cracked vacuum line. So these two things made this diagnosis a little tricky, but it can certainly be done. This particular truck took about couple hours. Hope this works for someone who is going through a similar problem. Good wrenching too all the techs.
I hit mine with a hammer and got a few more weeks out of it. Now it's starting to happen again.
Have you had any experience with newer style head units ? Any recommendations
It's not an idle problem, you have your plug leads wrong order, that's why the engoine won't run properly. Turn up idle screw, them set plug wires right way, and tune carburetor. Either that or 2 of your spark plugs are dead. Firing Order is 1,3,4,2 No 1 is in front. Air screw is allways 2,5 turns out +- Idle screw turn it so it just touches stop, then turn it another threequarter turn in that should give you 850 rpm. now adjust your timing turn anti clockwise to set faster, when engine stops revving higher rurn slightly back. Now tune air screw, turn out until engine do not rev higher turn 1/4 turn back. Your choke screw should be about 3,5 turns out. I should run nicely.
Are you sure plug leads are wrong? The dude I bought it from did a lot of work on it, new head gasket. Maybe he missed that? I didn't even check. Turned out it seems to be a float problem (really weird, can't get it to behave consistently no matter how much adjustments I do).....but when the float is right, it idles fine. I wouldn't think it would do this if firing order was off.
Having similar issue, however it fixed itself once I hooked up the wires to the old LPG converter solenoid this allowed me to toggle this problem on and off with the flick of a switch however I believe that solenoid is buggered too because with the lpg switch toggled off it’s started happening again, just gonna remove the whole thing completely my previous 22r motor didn’t have it and ran perfectly fine for years,
Hi Evan, thanks for the great video, im wondering how this setup is holding on, as i got one recently and the backlight of the screen just broke.
Have you got your truck up and running?. Sounds like you got fuel issue. have you checked the fuel level through the glass window opening on the Carburetor?. It should be in the middle, between the top and bottom of that glass window, if it's too high then it will flood the engine and if it is too low then it doesn't get enough fuel to run. I suggest you send your Carburetor to a Carburetor specialist to have it rebuilt and reset everything to its spec. it starts right up but could not keep idling that means something in the Carb is out of spec. Good luck.
You don't mention anything about the pick-ups...curious about them. Also, neck shape?
Ugh.. that was tough listening to all the adhd blurp tangents. Jeeezuz.
👌👍👍
I have the exact same problem. Did you fix it?
No, it ended up being an almost invisible crack in the panel.
Are you sure? Did you replace the boards?
@@SpregioCheeks No, but ended up finding a tiny little hairline crack in the corner, only visible when the screen was off. I gave it away to someone.
@@evankolpack Oh man.. yeah... and my apologies, I think I thought I was commenting on a diff video. One where it just didnt' turn on. I had just found an oled65bxpua at my apt complex someone was throwing out and just set it by the dumpsters. Turns out it was just the PSU and I got it up and working and honeslty, I can't believe i didnt' break the panel trying to carry that thing back up to my apt... SOBs are heavier than they look!
I've just installed a similar unit on my 2010 Venza. But.... When I turn the car on (not the engine) the unit is working. But when I hit the ignition the unit powers off. Do you know what the issue might be? After I saw the problem I disconnected everything but the power cable (second harness with RCA, 4g, GPS, etc.), to test and the problem remains.
It could be many things, but I'd obviously verify 110% that the IGN power is wired correctly and actually receiving voltage. I'd also verify that the ground pin on the unit has a good low resistance path to vehicle ground on the body/frame/engine block. It could be some other external system causing it to shut down, but most likely it's a power and/or wiring and/or ground problem.
@@evankolpack Thank you Even....I was looking at IGN power and wondering if some harness/adapter wires were wrong...But, I heard back from EKIY saying the steering wheel buttons wires are going to two plugs and I should cut one of them. Thanks for your reply. Appreciate it!
@@ThePhilbox Glad to hear EKIY is still providing great support! It's EXTREMELY rare to find that with this sorta thing. Anyway, glad you got it sorted out. ALOHA! 🤙
@@evankolpack Yes, they are and I'm very happy with the unit so far. Sounds good, snappy response. Just have to get the back-up camera working and Ill be 100% satisfied.
Beautiful guitar, sounds great and nice playing!
Thank you!
@@evankolpack , you’re welcome
Interesting. I have an early 70s Epiphone EA-250 MIJ that is almost identical to this guitar. Made in the Matsumoku facility in Japan. Floating bridge and hollow body (except for a quarter inch block under the bridge). More akin to a 330. After I properly set it up, it plays and sounds great, similar to what you have here. Had to shim the neck a good 1.5 degrees and the action is loooow. Like you say, these guitars are great. I also have fat hands and the nut width and fretboard curvature are a little challenging. Another great guitar of this era and Matsumoku facility is the Epiphone ET-270. Think Curt Kobain. Two single coils with vol/tone and a bass cut. A real variety of sounds and plays great. Similar hardware to these guitars but solid body.
Great pointers there! Thanks man, I'll keep an eye out for those guitars!
Mine has been doing the same thing. Now today the dash is showing 12.5 volts and the alternator and brake lights are on. Is it the sound of the alternator going?
I have a 2500 with 280k. 2015
Yeah, assuming you ruled out bad battery, that's either gunna be the alternator, wiring, or slipping belt. Most likely it's the alternator itself. I replaced mine, problem solved! Don't forget to keep the old one for the core charge. I did a new water pump while I was at it, which I'd highly suggest. I also went overkill and did a new serpentine belt and replaced my power steering pump as I thought it was bad (turned out there's a PS pump leak somewhere). Good luck!
@evankolpack did you remove it from underneath? I'm about to attempt it now. Thanks for the response
Bugouts use washers, not bearings. Put lube on the washers not the spring.
I agree, I bought an 8gb/128gb unit recently for my JDM Lexus ISF and the support from them was great
Did you ever replace the alternator, was it difficult?
Bought t7 8gb with ekiy dash camera with rear . Can't get the dvr rear camera to use as reverse camera when car is in reverse .
Did you hook up the trigger wire to the correct place on the main harness? Verify it's getting +12v for your reverse lights? On my implementation the reverse trigger wire is right next to the main 12 +/- wire, but check yours.
@evankolpack it was installed by professional radio installer and they said they did connect it with reverse tail light . My worry is that ekiy and even Saab unleashed RUclips video said the rear dash cam can do both reverse trigger on screen and recording, this may be not be true but I looked at another android unit mekede dashcam rearwhich also claims it does both. I wanted to get wiring diagram
Hello Evan Where do you connect the dash camera? Can you make a video about that?
does anyone know how to get engineering mode?
Is there an SD card slot on the t7?
Any audio demos?
Toss it in the trash and get a Weber 32/36 DGEV carb.
Ha, yup, I believe this is the correct answer! 👍
8gb t7 has inbuilt fan
Hi Evan, Thanks for the excellent technical video. Do you happen to have the Ekiy contact info?
You're welcome. I just got in touch with them through the Ali Express contact option.
Did you figure this out?
IIRC, there was some electrical tape sealing up the little hole in the grommet. I believe I cut that as was able to squeeze a little wire through by using a wire clothes hanger as a fishing pole. Turns out I'll be running a lot of cabling for power, dual batts, switches, etc, so I actually ended up just cutting the rubber grommet to accommodate all that. I may try to tape it all back up afterwards, but it'll be a big PITA with so little room to work in there.
Use a coat hange taped to the end of your wires to punch through the rubber grommet then pull the whole lot through from the other side
As far as I know if the battery isn’t accepting a charge it’s because the cells have become unmatched or maybe you have a faulty cell. In which case forcing a charge into it especially at the top end could be dangerous. Definitely worth opening it up & seeing if you have balanced cells before attempting this method.
Beautiful 😍
Some other brand models reverse plug must plug in unit even if you don't connect rear view camera because the short two yellow wires are some kind of antenna I don't remember but you will loss WiFi or Bluetooth connection or will be very weak.😅
Herman from Holland here..great obscure video😂 I ordered one and try to prepare my a-technical ass😅 On my volvo v70 Ive got a original fancy handsfree set built in...trying to figure out how it all can operate...needed to know if the t7 has a built in microphone that actually works...and now I know😊 I do not want to take the volvo kit out, but having two of these cockroaches in my car is just too much...I will try phoning with the t7 by disconnecting my volvo kit and will try the old handsfree set by disallowing phone permissions on android auto...shocking how little info there is on combining old carkit with a headunit😂
The non-removable antenna is labeled WiFi, not 5G.

Just buy a new cut solenoid why cut stuff why why
Toyota doesn't make them anymore. I bought the only one I could find (cheapie Chinese thing). Didn't solve the problem. See video description for the solution.
Thanks from Finland!
👍👍👍
It’s better to use a long, thick wooden stick to check those tubes for microphonic sounds. You can also probe the solder joints with them as well. Moreover, don’t make a technical comparison from a true tube amplifier to a hybrid tube amplifier.
