A Game of Thrones’ Prologue & The Meaning of Waymar Royce
I had so many arguments about this very obvious theory, but people, for some reason, believe lightbringer has to be a special piece of metal.
THANK YOU! reading it, it feels incredibly obvious, but people get so up in arms about it lol
Finally a good fucking take
I honestly don’t really like got, or asoaf, but i really like hearing you talk about the lore and the chraracters for some reason. Mainly the shit talking ones, cus I’m a gossipy bitch❤
well i appreciate you nonetheless 💜
Yes sir!!! I’m glad we are on the same page! All signs point to Dany and Drogon!
For a conspiracy theory, what about the alchemists? Was wildfire around? Maybe somebody heard of hardhome through the Maester’s writings
I like the idea of there being a massive natural gas deposit underneath it that got ignited. Explaining explosion, fire that doesn’t go out, then screaming caves.
My personal Theory is that the others specifically targeted sir waymar. The way it plays out is that the others seemed almost wary of him, and they didn't do away with him until his sword broke at which point they seemed to realize that he was not whoever they seem to be looking for. I do believe they are looking for someone specific. Funny enough, and the very next chapter John is described in the exact same imagery as waymar. Slender graceful gray-eyed with black hair. This is total conjecture and I don't have hard evidence for this, but it seems to me that the similarities between John and waymar were intentional, and I personally believe that the others are specifically looking for John for whatever reason
This is purely conjecture, but as Euron is seemingly a stand-in for the Bloodstone emperor, the fact that he married a tiger woman has me extremely worried that he and Cersei may have some kind of Unholy Alliance in the future. As she is definitely a lion woman😮😮 imagine how horrific those two would be as a power couple 😮😮
“Dance with me then.” went so fucking hard.
Fundamentally i think the interpretation we got on screen is the result of a misunderstanding. We know GRRM is toying with time travel, but the question is how would he do that? This is a thought process based on one of his earliest stories. A character called Dr Weird in a story called Only Kids are Afraid of the Dark. In short, Dr Weird (possibility weir-ed, in asoiaf) died in the past but his spirit goes on because the moment in time is before he was born creating a metaphysical paradox. How do you do this in asoiaf? Bran's physical body is disconnected from the tree while his spirit is exploring in the past. It's unlikely he could return to it until after the moment he left or go into a weirwood before he actually dies. So what would the powers and capability of a Bran been as nothing more than a spirit waiting the centuries? So the characterization of Bran in the show. Assume GRRM told them the basic idea, a very old Bran spirit will eventually get back to his young broken body. This is why they may have gone with something comparable to BR, because his spirit is old. This essentially makes the real 3ECrow the older version of Bran setting up events over the centuries to the a fight in the future. And teaching himself and getting himself into the cave to begin the process. What can an old spirit unable to rest in a weirwood do? Can it skinchange? Can it skinchange the dead? Could Coldhands be this older Bran leading himself to the cave (your monster Brandon Stark)? It's a very simple way to include time travel with consequences. I think it works as a good way to rationalize Bran as the King. An old soul in his own younger form. It answers the question of how Coldhands knew Bran was at the Nightfort and why he needed Sam to get him through.
Off the cuff idea, but what if he skinchanges into one of the Others to become the organizing force behind their invasion? Not saying itll happen, i always have mixed feelings about an impersonal force of nature gaining a human consciousness in stories like this.
Eastwatch-by-the-sea is also pretty chill with the neighbouring Freefolk and frequent visits from Traders of Braavos, if I was given a choice of what Night's Watch fort to spend the rest of life at it would be that one.
Winterfell is warm enough to walk around the castle Stark naked in the middle of the night, that's where I'd live.
Donal Noye pulls Jon to the side and tells him to check his privilege.
As someone whose favourite dragon is Vermithor (complete opposite end of the list) and whose second favourite is Tessarion (exactly the same placement) I am very conflicted over how to feel about this video😅
Can you do a video on the five surviving dragons of house of the dragon and if we can see them in the story again in winds
@@Zaabi that’s a great idea! i’ll add it to the list! :)
Scuse, number one top dragon is absolutely Balerion the Black Dread (kitten edition). Grows up to be the ugly old Tom cat, the true King of the Castle, that Arya struggles to catch (and ultimately leads her to discovering where the dragon skulls are located and overhearing Varys and Illario scheming, which is the reason she is able to escape the Red Keep at the end of the book)
I love the fin on moondancer! So unique and pretty, rip morning we love you 😂
Sunfyre is that beautiful friend who means well but has terrible taste in men! And yes, Rhaegal is a bit of a spoiled, vicious a$$hole.. but I’ve always preferred Viserion anyways. 😂
Morghul and Shrykos have Awesome names tho
i will give them that haha the names are real fun

I love granny Vhager ❤
Nana Vhagar is amazing. Also, a friend of mine named their iguana Vhagar. Vhagar the iguana does not commit war crimes, just hangs out on shoulders and eats fruit.
Yes! She flown there, done that and has the T-shirt! Not scared or impressed by anything.. the Queen of Thorns in dragon form! 😆
Quicksilver may have been the first Targ dragon killed in DRAGON combat, but Meraxes was killed in combat at the Hellholt during the conquest, years before Quicksilvers fight with Balerion.
@@chrisrubin6445 absolutely correct, i misspoke
Wish we figured out what happened to the other 4 dragons that the Targaryens brought over. Something juicy happened during the century of blood.
Waiting already
Catelyn is literally the goat I will fight anyone on this.
I think Rhaegar was a bard at heart and narcissitic as he believed the Song of Ice and Fire to be about him. He is a bard at heart and that's one of the reasons why he crowns Lyanna, because he probably met Lyanna and was in awe of the chivalrous and honourable way Lyanna was acting in defending one of her father's men; while he had probaly staged his winning by convincing the Kingsguard to let him win (Rhaegar had never been deemed one of the best jousters, he always lost against Arthur but this time he wins and goes against Selmy? Selmy does reflect on not being "knightly" enough instead of his jousting abilities). He is a narcissist because he simply read about the prophecy or whatever and suddenly it's about him, giving him a sense of grandiose and reason for essentially do anything he believes to be the correct thing because he knows best as he is the Prince that was Promised. So when Elia couldn't give him his third dragon, who did he think about? Lyanna. Why? Because she was like Visenya, a lady who knew how to fight and so a child by her would give him his third dragon in the way of a Visenya (jokes on you you had a son and not a daughter). Remember that his children are named after the three siblings, but his oldest child wasn't named after the oldest daughter Visenya but rather Rhaenys. Was it a way to manipulate Elia to name their first child after the sister Aegon loved truly and not the one he married for duty? or was it because he wasn't sure that Elia would produce a daughter with the martial prowess of Visenya? As obsessive as he is about prophecies and symbols, I always found it strange how he didn't name his first daughter after the oldest sister Visenya.
😱😱😱
It isn't the fault of episode itself. It's season 7.
Idk why people talk about and depict Satin like he's a boy. He's older than Jon.
It's about time someone called called out what an ass he was, I really felt sorry for Daella.
He’s terrifying but I really like Tywin for the same reason I like Kevan. He just does the work. lol. They have different tacks but they’re both really competent (except as fathers 😬)
She sounds a lot like Cersei
I never did understand when people told me that Daenerys had been showing signs of madness throughout the entire show. In my opinion, even the moments in the TV show, when she did something cruel, I never felt that it was because she was going mad, but simply because she was young and incredibly angry and made mistakes, and if we‘re being honest, because she isn‘t an angel of a person either. Danny isn‘t this sweet person that occasionally loses her mind and does terrible things, she is someone who is rage-filled and often proud and overreaches when things don‘t go her way, but also corrects her mistakes. Anger and even cruelty are not the same as insanity. And her burning King‘s Landing doesn‘t make sense within her character arc because, like you mentioned in this video, she only ever tries to help the unfortunate and the people who remind her of herself. And yes, sometimes she goes to far in this or overlooks something important, but any cruelty that she shows is directed towards the tyrants in a given situation, those who mistreat others. The people of Kings Landing had never given her a reason to hate them and so her burning them makes no sense. I‘m not saying that she isn‘t capable of something like that, but she would not do it without a (in her mind) proper reason. So, her burning them is completely out of character for her and could only be due to insanity, which she has never before displayed, in my opinion.
We do indeed like you for charm
Begging for any scrap of yap about Dany- love her forever and ever- I will listen to someone talk about her nonstop- anything about Dany is always great ❤
if you scroll a little i actually have a few on dany already posted here! one is even on the longer side at 30 min!
The twins is hard to besiege because its on both sides of the river
Nothing but an atheist devil.
You know, Tyrion talked of idiot rylers and vicious rulers but forgot about the third type of incompetent rulers: the spineless like his grandfather.
To be fair, Tytos fits into the idiot rulers category
Just for added context. The underground part of Castamir was made from a depleted gold mine, as gold veins dried up they turned the resulting caverns into big halls and storerooms and such. So they weren't just like, dank mines, it was like a small LOTR dwarvish city that he flooded.
Despite Tywin orchestrating the red wedding, which killed Catelyn (at least for the first time because she got revived), Catelyn somehow indirectly killed Tywin too, if we really think about it. It’s not just a one side aggression from Tywin. - Catelyn decided to release Jaime behind Robb’s back, thanks to her motherly instinct (and by that, I meant the plot) - Jaime got to develop some kind of moral compass thanks to his time with Brienne - Being sympathetic to Tyrion, Jaime helped Tyrion escape the execution and he then confessed the truth about Tysha to Tyrion which caused Tyrion to spiral into madness and whacked Tywin while 🚽 Without the plot armor that was Catelyn’s decision, Jaime would never have left Robb’s camp and Tywin would have still been alive.
I don't think Tywin orchestrated the Red Wedding, it was primarily a Frey plot that Tywin took credit for and that Roose named dropped Jamie because Jamie mentioned in a earlier chapter in Harrenhal about sending his regards to Robb.
@@renaigh It's quite the other way around. The main reason why Tywin teamed up with house Frey and Bolton was that he could have a plausible deniability. The Freys' reputation weren't good in the first place. People already viewed them as cowardly and opportunistic and the red wedding further validates that. Tywin could be like "I did nothing. They just betrayed Robb Stark on their own. That's who they are." like how he denied his war crimes against the Martells by blaming it on his "unruly" soldiers instead.
@@renaigh Tywin was seen writing to Walder Frey and Roose Bolton before the Red Wedding, and then later confirmed to Tyrion that he had puppetmastered the entire bloody mess. He may not have been there. but he was absolutely responsible. I don't think either would have had the combination of brains and courage to go through with it if they hadn't had firm Lannister backing, or if they hadn't thought they were backed by the Lannisters. Why else would they have played 'The Rains of Castermere' anyway, if it *wasn't* a Lannister plot?
ohh cool randomly saw this premiere happening 💕
Oily black stone
Yay so excited! Just finished fire and blood and knight of the seven kingdoms and this came out just in time for me to start GOT
But who in ASOIAF isn't a misogynist? Maybe Ned? He supports Cat even she's a little reckless with Tyrion. And I guess Arya wasn't quite old enough for Ned to try and marry her off. Granted he did take her court so that was probably on coming up on the to-do list. It's a misogynistic society.
you’ve kind of made my point. it’s a spectrum. the society is misogynistic, but not every character falls on the far end of the spectrum. he falls far on the end of it and his misogyny causes issues. the combination of those two things make me not like him haha hence the video.
Omg the 30 min video. I am OBSESSED.
Have you done a video speculating about the House Dayne words/house motto? I’ve seen some interesting theories like “Fallen & Reborn” (their words in the online game), “And now it begins” (Arthur Dayne’s supposed last words), or even something from the Nights Watch Oath like “the light that brings the dawn” (or sword in the darkness, etc)? I am a big fan of Houses that choose an aesthetic and commit to the bit and the stars/meteor/big sword aesthetic is simply iconic to me so I hope the house words align LOL
i do have a house dayne video on here but i’ll be honest in that when i discuss the speculation i admit that i honestly have no idea 😂 like i could speculate but i don’t feel like i have enough information from the text to make a prediction that someone else hasn’t already
Surprised that the narrow escape of Maester Willis hasn’t led to a “Maesters did it… somehow” theory
honestly fair point haha i think i forgot to include this but wyllas did try to go back and i believe arrived or got close but it was too late. so that might be why?
I knew when you gave us Jaehaerys hate that I was gonna enjoy your videos, and now you’ve given us Catelyn and Sansa appreciation and I love it!!! Especially with Sansa!! She’s a kid who believed in the fairytales and then very quickly had to learn how to survive when everything crumbled and she has! She survived Joffrey and Cersei at their most powerful. And her thought of ‘All the stories can’t be lies’ from ACOK feels like such a badass line because she’s seen so much of the worst humanity can be, but chooses to believe there is still good. Or when she thinks about when she’s queen, she’ll make the people love her. She’s choosing love over fear despite everything telling her the safest thing is to choose fear and cruelty. That isn’t naïvety. That’s strength. Your points in this video: *chef kiss*
Can you do a video on the history of house Baratheon?
