*Caution* long rant ahead and long winded, so prepare yourself!!! So my sister let me borrow this brand new saw she never used to trim some trees. I was using my pole saw until it broke so she told me to use this in the meantime until my part comes in. So I have used this for about 2 weeks now and decided to make a video on it.

I installed the used parts that I got for the trimmer. Here I am putting the trimmer back together. The case is a pain and so is the handle control, so keep at it and you will get it.

Well, not a good day today. I forgot to update on the carb issue, but I bought one off Amazon, Hipa branded. Today I was string trimming and it made a crunchy loud sound and then stopped. I tried to pull it over and it was locked up. Here is the carnage...

I was using it to trim the grass using the string trimmer and I ran out of gas. I filled it up and it would not start. I am thinking the carburetor or the pulse port in the head might be the issue, not sure really!!!

My friend was smelling oil from his car when he parked it. I checked it out for him and noticed oil leaking from the valve cover. I replaced the valve cover gasket on his 2006 Ford fusion. I ordered the gaskets from Autozone part number # VS 50639 R-1. I had to do some cleaning and removing oil from the wells but over all an easy job and not much time involved to do this.

Hey, do you have to use choke to crank your MIVA even once it is warmed? I have to use choke no matter what to crank, but can immediately push it right back in and it runs perfect. I was thinking maybe its lean, the carbs on these dont have any adjustments really, thought maybe trying a new carb jet one size up to richen it up, may help with stalling or struggle under load, i cant run mine at 1/2 throttle like alot of guys claim, it wants to stall, 3/4 throttle runs fine, i think they run lean.
No I usually do it at first start...then let it run a minute and then push in choke after 2-3 mins...starting it warm no choke needed...maybe try it without the air filter and see if it starts better.
The suction filter referenced in the manual is inside the hydraulic tank, it spins on, if you remove the panel from over the tank should be a access plate. I have the VA15P and it has a drain and access port
That lower port on the tank is suction to pump i believe, the return is usally higher on tank
To help silence the noise on the canopy, anything that can't be dismantled or taken apart, like the plates welded to each other, you can squeeze silicone between the cracks. Be sure to let it fully dry before testing.
I bought a inner tube for a bycyle to mount behind the panels with some glue and bolt holes. I used it yesterday and its getting annoying the more I run it, so that will be next on the to do list. Thanks.
The hydraulic filter goes on the line leaving the valve block and returning to the tank putting it on the suction side of the pump will collapse the filter and putting it on the pressure side will blow the filter right off its housing

How much engine oil? Hydraulic oil? I have the same model, plan to change the oil this weekend. Unfortunately a track came off when I was in the gravel and rocks... Need to remount that. Apparently the track specs should be stamped inside. Thanks for the video.
The engine took about a quart and a half. I have seen online that the Hydraulic oil is about 2 and half gallons. I only added about half a gallon of hydraulic oil to mine as it looked low in the container. I have not gotten to change it, but added some for safety. I will change it one day when I get time, looks like the hose connector at the bottom will drain it all, it will make a mess as seen in the video.
Mind me asking what you paid? Im looking at same model at upcoming auction in few days, also i read tjese have double stage hydraulic pumps, any idea?
I say it in the video, I got it at auction for $4200. I think most of these are single stage, as when you move more than one control the movement slows down.
In the video you can tell it's a single stage pump.

Hi friend, I expect a 15 in 5 days, but not at auction. It costs me $5,500 from a Chinese company plus $2,000 for shipping. It has a Kubota diesel engine, hydraulic thumb, arm with lateral movement and 80 cm bucket, and I think a double pump. Now I need to see how it works.

No it only flashes the lights...no music on it. Now if you had a song that could match the flashing...then maybe, but be a lot of work to find a song to match it up each time.

That flywheel and fan assembly should pull off with a puller from Harbor Frieght should be able to pull against the center of the crank shaft ! You just need to spraysome PB Blaster on it and try not to break the flywheel any worse ! But it should come off without splitting the case !
Yeah, I was able to remove it last night. There was a washer that holds it on, friction fit. I found the parts that I need...just got to order...
@@joeada9309 Cool deal ! Tgat beats throwing away with it only being a yr. or so old ! Seems that's what Manufacturers want though is for us to throw away and by new equipment or vehicles ! I try and fix what I can myself ! That's the way my dad taught us and ive taught my boys !

@@joeada9309 wild badger is the brand. I got there hedge trimmer attatchment off home depot site for $60. The depot sells all their heads thoz I’ve used it 3 times so far and it’s worked good. I had to trim an over grown rhododendron that I prolly should not have cut with hedge trimmer but it did the job.

How's it been treating you? I have a Troy Bilt TB2044XP that I got back in June of 2016 and it's still working and running great.
I have used it a bunch...i have been clearing a big lot for a friend using my brush blade and my chainsaw attachment going for 3-4 hours at a time and it's working great...no issues to report. I have been making sure that the gas and oil mix are new so that is probably helping. No issues with running or starting, it's working well. I can say I have run it hard and run it full tilt through a tanks of gas. I am happy with it. Thanks for the reply.
