Thank you so much for this video! I'm so glad to see there are still doctors out there who care about looking at the big picture as more and more are going into specialties. I have endometriosis and the lack of knowledge about it from my local doctors has forced me to do my own research and bide my time until I can afford to go somewhere that can actually help me! I've recently learned about mcas and am amazed how perfectly it fits!

The litature that says excision doesn’t make a difference is wrong! I’m proof of this type of surgery to remove Endo DOES work and does decrease pain.

Dr Matigbay at the Mayo Clinic in AZ does ovarian gynecological surgery and he did mine using the Davinci. Best decision of my life and I’m so grateful that I sought out Dr Arrington who knew what to look for and could send me to the Mayo so I could get my direlhagmatic surgery and all the other things that were done.. it was a 5 1/2 hour surgery and every day I think about how blessed I was to have this surgery.

I just got my papsmear which everything came back negative;however I never had Anthony Joseph and my results at 62 years old came up positive and showing in my capture and I have no bleeding. What are my options and why wouldn’t I be able to get a hysterectomy from my doctor because I do not want to go through any kind of.

FYI I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my early thirties. I was prescribed progesterone. In about 3 years of treatment, The biopsy came back clean no uterine cancer. I am currently in Menopause and my sixties endometriosis is running rampant in my body. The pain is unbearable and gobs of endometrial uterine tissue(?) are in my system and sometimes being excreted.

So insightful! Should patients request ARID1A and mitotic rate testing on tissue samples from surgeries? Would be amazing to get clarity for those getting surgeries from other excision specialists who don't have this oncology perspective.

Very good information finally! I’m 39, had gone though Ivf and God gave me a son. I’ve been suffering lots of pain afterwards, I’ve been wanting another child but it just not happening. I’ve been asked go do a surgery to increase the success rate. But have been debating if I should for the purpose of being healthy and able to get pregnant again.

They think your loved ones endometriosis is going to get better by riding a surf board ? Most if not ALL women with post endometriosis lesion removal have widespread myofascial trigger point dysfunction.

I’ve gone through the unfortunate experience and struggle of chronic pelvic pain symptoms. It’s unbelievable in this day and age how pain science has lagged in study and acceptance in the broader medical community. Glad that Dr. Kutch’s research into the neuroscience behind COPCs is leading the way to hopefully groundbreaking and effective treatment of these conditions. It’s personally gratifying that there’s a passion to helping others based on his personal experience having CPP.

I had knee surgery 4 days ago. as soon as I went into the OR the DR said I would moved to the table, but, 1st, he would give me a little bit of medicine. I looked down at the tube and saw white liquid I, and I went out. I never remember getting on the table, having my arms put on the boards, never remember being asked to breathe w/the mask on. I think he put me out too quickly. Did I do all that other stuff and just don't remember? I just remember waking up in the PACU when the surgery was over. I was having a nice time looking over the OR and seeing all the machines. In 12 days I will have an endoscopy, so I'll see the difference. This will take quite a while as the docs will try to close a fistula, endoscopically

Short but good. Have had everything from none, ether, sodium Pen. Have had 20 surgeries requiring anesthesia of some sort. My last surgery was for total right knee replacement. I had a Spinal without sedation. I was awake for the whole process. It was by far the most enjoyable anesthesia and surgical procedure I have had. It was a new life's experience. If I need surgery in the future and a spinal is used I will do it again without sedation. The main reason tor anesthesia that renders you unconscious is to prevent you from developing PTSD. I have seen and done so much during my 83 Orbits around the sun. I have no PTSD nor am I susceptible to PTSD. If I was, I'd already have it. I was in the military during Vietnam and I was a Cop. Do what you think is best for yourself. General Anesthesia at level 4 (Unconscious and on a ventilator) is more dangerous the older you are. Avoid it if possible. Versed/midazolam is used to keep you from forming new memories and also causes the loss of some older ones. Avoid this drug, it's not necessary.

This was an in-depth conversation between two endometriosis experts and warriors. As Dr. Ana mentioned, doctors need to listen to this and learn to say, "I do not know how to diagnose and treat endometriosis." That could save so many years of pain and suffering.

Thank you for this information. About 9 years ago I had a hysterectomy due to severe endometriosis. The endometriosis was also on my kidneys and liver, but from what I was told the doctors were not able to reach it . Anyways after years go by my health has went down hill.

Hi :) Thanks for uploading this video! I'm 3 weeks PO and would like to recommend this video to anyone watching... the video is accurate. My experience with Endometrioma excision/cystectomy/bisapingectomy and unilateral oophorectomy with the anesthesia, all went smooth. Had Propofol + Sevorlorane gas and Peripheral Nerve Block. PLEASE MENTION THE PNB when you speak to your anesthesiologist! It can make all the difference. They gave me a RX for opioid based pain medication I NEVER needed to fill it! Because of the PNB. I only took acetominophen (which doesn't work GREAT but I still took as recommended), they cleared me for ibuprofen, and I got clearance to use CBD. The PNB can make a huge difference in your pain management/amplification result coming out of Post Op! Be sure to ask for it. :) !!! Also - some recommended that having a cold beverage ready with lemon and honey may soothe throat irritation. I personally had ZERO irritation from the tracheal tube! I dealt with my surgery 100% alone , except for a wonderful team. If you are going through it alone, STAY STRONG, you can do it! Anesthesiology has come a long way. - one more thing If you ever HAD general anesthesia, and did not have nausea, I would probably say to research the anti-nausea patch. It is an option they can give you but you want to decline it if you can, because that patch has the side effect of making it slightly more difficult to urinate. This can complicate when you have your CATHETER removed. I did not have the Anti Nausea patch and ALSO - since it was a day surgery, I had a slimline (NON FOLEY) catheter. I had an easy time urinating on my own when I got home. @Icarebetter thanks for the upload and if you have not, perhaps make a video about CATHETER, I had only minor irritation but both ANESTHESIA AND CATH frightened me, but there was no reason for it! Thank you very much. 4:30 I experienced a minor complication from the PNB which is temporary numbness (neuralgia) of a specific muscle in the thigh (Meralgia Paresthetica) but it usually resolves in patients who have PNB/robotic laproscopy within 3-4 weeks and mine is resolving. It is not an uncommon complication and not terribly difficult to deal with, as is reversible.

Hello, total hysterectomy at age 27. (Endometriosis on bladder, colon all female parts)I am 65 now and have not been off of estradiol until recently, as my lab levels of estrogen are I’ve 1000. My dr took me off of estradiol and put me on twice daily progesterone. Would endometriosis someplace cause extreme levels of estrogen❓thoughts❓thank you

I had a hysterectomy 11 years ago due to a large "chocolate" ovarian cyst, endometriosis and adenomyosis. Removed all (cervix included) but my right ovary, yet here I am, 58 years old and still dealing with endo discomfort some months and endo pain other months. Taking Midol on those days when I feel like a teenager dealing with menstrual cramps, bloat and tummy problems helps, but I just wish all this would stop!
