This is now the top result on Google! I was trying to remember what year this happened and typed "The gap hailstorm". I'd forgotten about this video but it clicked when I saw the username. It's Troy by the way, if my own username didn't give it away.

Living through this up in the hills of The Gap was not fun. Dad was stuck outside taking shelter under the cars and Mum was screaming out the back door for him, but the wind was pushing her back inside. My sister and I were huddled at the fireplace praying, convinced it was all over. Our eight-year-old sister was next door, we had no way to get in touch and were hoping she didn't try to walk home when it got scary. Our brother was riding his bike somewhere. Eventually it was over, windows were smashed, the shed was gone (flew over the house) and trees were down everywhere, taking out everything in their path. I still have trauma reactions to storms when they start to get rough.

This wasn’t a cyclone, it was a microburst supercell in 2008 that was very dangerous

Well done for capturing this. I remember The Gap Storm well from Plucks Road Arana Hills. Could see the white sheet of rain coming over the gully. We were lucky but of course others in Arana Hills were not so.

I first saw this video when i lived in nsw when it happened. Just stumbled across this video and i now live within a 5 minute drive of the gap! On the day of the storm i was in brisi. Im sure theres an old comment from back then if you want to know more haha

I was in this storm. The tornado was right over our house at Killerea Crescent. I think we were the only house in the neighbourhood that didn't lose our roof, because we had a window open.

I live in the gap on top of a hill and our house was the only one in our street without smashed windows.

The thing I remember about this storm was the loud noise the gumtree made as it slide across our roof

I saw first cyclones in when was active lightning and hailstorm.

Extreme severe thunderstorm. Hurricane wind with extreme heavy rain and hail.Its extreme downburst.

Had to have been maybe a small intense rain wrapped tornado. Or at least some sort of rotation.

The thing I love about the tropical storms that hit Queensland is the sudden hit. Beautiful sunny calm day and then bang, here it is.

i think it waas actually sunday novenber 15th 2 pm. two mini cyclones radar 180 ks an hour . it came through the gao and went out through ferny grove an albany creeks ripping the tops of tres of. killing thousnads of native birds.
