SPOILER ALERT ABOUT MAXING OUT INTERACTIONS WITH RYU: Not gonna lie, when I maxed out with Ryu, it teared me up a bit. First off, the best gift he likes is the confectionaries you get from Retsu. But he also loves the Soba noodles you can buy at E Honda's restaurant. But when you max him out, he becomes your friend and tells you about his past. But something that meant a lot to me is when you FINALLY exchange contact information with him. He is not well versed on what a cell phone is. You "have to teach him to text". And when you leave he sends you like five consecutive message chains lmao. And as they progress you see him learn to type, stop signing his texts with "Sincerely, Ryu", and learn how to use stickers and emojis 😂😂 He's so thankful and claims that YOU are HIS master when it comes to electronics. It really did bring a dumb smiling tear to my eye lmao.. That's what I love about this game- they finally make you feel like you're a part of it. As a kid, I would think about the SF characters and their lives and storylines. But what about their lives. I mean, we know Ken has a kid, and Guile, and Dhalsim etc. But we dont know what they are as everyday people. And this game answered those questions a lot. By the way, any lists you find online about what the best gifts are, are SUPER f'ing wrong. They keep saying Chun Li likes the canned herring. But her best gift is a citrus perfume and that can be obtained in a friendship mission. I think Juri's. It's weird but online doesn't even have all the items possible yet. Dhalksim has a friendship mission that gives you a coffee grinder and that is a gift for Guile.
