"That Was Blood Sweat And Tears" What Goes Into a Display | An Interview With Wor Flags
Not fair to judge Osula on the basis of the midfield and wingers he had to play with in that match
For once we are in agreement Mr Dunbar lol
Bromley were definitely the biggest team I can remember seeing at SJP. Hence their tactics! The CB who came on as sub in the 2nd half looked like he had eaten all the pies?
Murphy to me makes it absolutely crucial that any starting RW we sign has to be right footed. No more Miggy types who have to pull the ball back onto their left foot before crossing, passing or shooting
Definitely a red - he could have avoided the second movement of his foot/boot
Ipswich should definitely have been given the Sheffield U treatment
It was because Sean Longstaff was not on the pitch long enough lol
@NUFC360 who's Sean Longstaff?
For once I didn't swear at Mark - must be the season of goodwill to all men or something. Nervy 1-0 win.
Are you Sean Lock"s illegitimate barcode son? Welcome to another season of winning fuck all.
Oo
How about changing the system because it's clear as day that this squad cannot make 433 work. And suggesting that Longstaff being in the bench was a factor...FFS, get real Mark. It's not working. It doesn't look like working. Time for a change.
Andy Smith the bloke who gets into games for free because he’s a “journo” and I use that term loosely. Hes the one that tries to be proper edgy in press conferences and tries to make Eddie Howe laugh. It’s weird as FKKKK!! - the abuse of players is totally justified when you’re paying THOUSANDS per year to watch Sean Longstaff you’ve got every right to grief him to bits because for starters we shouldn’t be watching him. He should be nowhere near this club. Andy Smith is the type of bloke to cancel his doctors appointment because he’s too ill. I bet his bird wears the trousers in his relationship, he’s a grown bloke taking offence over hurty words. If Sean doesn’t like the grief, he should find a new club, do us all a favour eh? Am sure the celebrations will be out the day he finally leaves whilst Andy Smith sits and writes edgy jokes to make Howe laugh. Why do we get the weirdest bunch of journos in the UK reporting on our team?! Seriously?
I disagree that abuse of players is ok. There are ways you can be constructive without tearing people down. Sean is known to have struggled with mental health due to abuse he gets, what gives you the right to abuse him? He is in the team because when we play teams that have possession he provides much needed athleticism and is good off the ball, it is games where we have possession he shouldn't be playing. He is good at what he does but he is not a technical ball player. Til we sign more players what do you expect Eddie to do? He has been effective in some games! He can only play who he has. Nothing gives you the right to abuse people. They are human, you can do it behind a keyboard, you wouldn't do it to his face. What do you actually achieve from tearing players down, you could be killing their confidence so how does that help them play better? It is counter-productive.
If you are going to hurl unwarranted abuse at someone, get their name right firstly. Secondly he has earned the chance to cover the club with the work he does for the Premier League. Abuse aimed at anyone is NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ANY POINT! Criticism of a performance maybe but certainly not abuse. On the day where we remember Gary Speed a great servant of our great club who took his life due to struggles with mental health, to have to deal with this comment is disappointing. If further abuse is given then you will be removed.
@@NUFC360 i am going to assume that is not aimed at me...
No it wasn’t.
@@AllyBeee1 Eddie Howe signed Tonali and has spent half a billion on players who are only suited to playing on transitions. Are we pretending Howe hasn't built this squad of players? Longstaff I have a lot of time for and was excellent in the past but continuing this myth that he provides something to the team in certain games simply isn't shown both on the eye and in the stats. He doesn't enter or win duels, he's far too easy to play through and he cannot progress the ball forward. Abuse is wrong, but the criticism is entirely valid that in no way shape or form should he be starting.
⚫️⚪️
There are no universes in the multiverse where Longstaff should start over Tonali...ever
Lets be honest if we think Longstaff is worth keeping Tonali out we are fools. Lets see what we can do with that formation but playing Tonali instead of Longstaff, but playing Tonali in the middle as the six, Bruno on the right
As long as it’s city centre there won’t be a problem
After today's result v Arsenal we shouldn't be seduced into thinking Longstaff should start v Forest. He shouldn't. Tonali the 6, Bruno the 8, Willock the 10, with the same front 3 today. That is the best midfield/fwd line combination
How often have we wished to see an early cross, first time cross, whipped in?
Poor selection today. Players playing well on Weds and being dropped in favour of his favourites, Bruno and Burn. Sickening.
If we lose the next 3 games - especially the Arsenal and Forest games - its hard to see the owners sitting on their hands and not making a change. Certainly won't be keen to give Howe another transfer window if its unlikely he will be the manager next season.
On current form I think Odysseas Vlachodimos, the Greek national keeper, is a better option than Pope, especially as a footballer.
Boring, predictable, stale - time for change
Carling you might aswell drink tap water than that shiye😊
No idea what Howe was thinking Tonali was playing well?
Game management is horrendous. Substitutions made little sense. Why exactly did we buy Osula?
Cant we add another tier to the Leazes stand and Milburn stand and then expand the Gallowgate equally plus rebuild the East Stand? Could make it 72000
Good episode 👍
If we move out of SJP, we will lose the heart and soul of the club! And recent figures show that the additional money would only buy us a mid range player anyhow…
The supporters are the hesrt and sole. We wont change. So nothing will change
Disagree massively, it shows when the club is playing away. It's the supporters. United make another 100mill a season on top of us, that's some mid range player we are missing out on... every, single, season. The stadium is at capacity, there's no room for extra fans buying things, there's no room for more corporate boxes, there's not much room for growth.
Can't get in - that's what matters you can keep your hotdogs and lager.
Douglas is always a quality interview.
Douglas is talking utter crap that people would love to come and spend hours in the ground before the match. No Newcastle fan has any interest in that when there is 200 pubs outside the ground. He also contradicts himself when he says inios were interested but the ground put them off but they bought into Man Utd and are now on about rebuilding a new ground so they could have done the same at Newcaslte. Also why would PIF build a stadium for Gateshead and invest in a club they don’t own just pure pie in the sky talk from more talking heads. Anfield has been modernised and I can tell you now when going to away games I would soon go to Anfield than Everton’s new ground. The Spurs stadium looks amazing but the atmosphere is crap it’s full of tourists and Douglas talking about what they do in America before games!!! We are not yanks we know what football is about and it not eating hot dogs and sitting on the back Of 4x4s before a game.
I'd rather spend time in the stadium with a view than a pub, before and after. PIF bought newcastle before Ineos invested in man united, so probably prior takeover and has since had the opportunity to invest in united. As much as i dislike united, it's not the same thing.
Which United?
I've been saying about the Gateshead stadium for a while. Your the first I've heard on RUclips say the same thing. Seems the solution to a city centre new build stadium, investment for Gateshead (who could be set up as a proper feeder club) and a stadium share solution for nufc ladies in the mid term?
Don’t you have an audio VU meter? It would be nice if you could level out the volume between the two of you.
Sjp is a dump, to be honest I've been a season ticket hold for years and we need a new stadium 🏟
It’s not a dump at all. it needs a full refurbishment on the facility’s but it’s not a dump. Having been to plenty of other grounds it’s clear that they have facilities that are more basic than our own but offer better food and drink.
It's one of the best looking stadiums in the league. Look at Liverpool's stadium. It looks awful. Expanding the Gallowgate and modernising the East Stand will make it look ten times better
@@BATC98 if redeveloped, will it be able to accommodate a larger internationally oriented fan base for the next two decades, as well as, adding more revenue producing business to the club? If we are going to become a successful club, the demands from the fanbase will increase.
I've got a feeling Isak won't be back and Bruno limped off midweek so may miss this one. Scrap a 1-0 hopefully....
I am much more confident facing Brighton with Tonali starting - his presence lifts Bruno's game substantially. And Isak and Wilson being fit... 2-1 to Newcastle.
Bradford who 😅😅😅
I know it’s not the mens but i just really hope it’s a good game for the fans
if city dont win there is no point of newcastle
It will all depend on on the capacity they want it they are talking 65-70 thousand it will have to be a new stadium
A full rebuild inside st james park
I don’t care which option they take, just stay OUT of Leazes park….Period
No contact made with freemen or council officials regarding Leazes Park as an option. This doesn't mean it won't happen. There's no point discussing it with them until all other feasibility studies are exhausted first. There is no point expanding St. James's park for the cost of 8,000 to 10,000 extra capacity. There is also nothing stopping them renaming a new stadium and calling it St. James's park again! Its literally 300m further up the hill anyway. This is always about viability vs cost expenditure and what the gains are. There is also nothing stopping them from converting the current stadium area to park land and new facilities either. It's not a factor of money, it bang for buck.
Steven is right build big close to pitch, steep
As he is proving for Italy, Tonali is an elite level player. If we had similar quality at RW and a fit striker (and fit backup striker) this midfield would function really well.
No entertainment business can continue to disappoint so many potential customers every event, wherein 60,000 members are chasing the relatively few non-season ticket seats every time. It's fanciful to think our owners will just accept a minor upgrade to SJP. It makes no economic sense.
@@Cristobal_2012 try entering the ballots
@@Cristobal_2012 When I entered the Arsenal ballot I was 60176 in the queue
Games like this you have to score penalties. Gordon wasn't the right option to take today.
Bruno playing better when Tonali plays alongside him...that's no coincidence
Agree, it's like better players work well with better players ha!
Pope is making mistakes this season he didn't make last. Yes his shot stopping is still great most of the time but he is definitely letting in goals this season he didn't in previous seasons
Sandro is being punished for playing two matches for Italy when Eddie wanted to bring him back slowly. Needs to be the main man and I'd make him captain too. Eddie one heavy defeat away from the sack.
Do you think he will start against City?
@@NUFC360 Yes. If he doesn't then there really is a problem between him and Eddie. My team would be Pope Schar Kelly Tino Hall Longstaff Joelinton Sandro (C) Murphy Barnes Isak Bruno, Gordon, Almiron, Trippier, Burn, Osula, Willock on the bench. Width from the overlapping full backs. Longstaff and Joelinton protecting the back 4 and being told to stay there! Murphy and Barnes more central to press their double pivots and be closer to Isak. Sandro given a free role as a box to box, and wing to wing, '8'. In attack 2-2-2-1-2-1 In defence 4-5-1
Totally agree. We shouldn’t be surprised at the result it’s been coming for weeks!
When the manager keeps having to make multiple subs at HT in games it begs a number of questions, especially about the manaher's decision making.
Eddie Howe has admitted after the game that he got the team selection wrong.
@@NUFC360 consecutive weeks
