@24hrstolive27 The engine is good too, no issues at all. The only thing is the oil filter housing (where the paper type oil filter goes into ) is made from plastic and is supposed to be replaces every few oil changes, some times can develop micro cracks or can pinch the rubber oring and drips abit of oil. It was definitely reduced oil consumption I have use 0w20 in Honda City ivtec 2009 in India car was previously running on 5w40 Motul 8100xCase with no oil consumption issue engine was silent I will never use 0w20 I am soon switching to 5w30 as this oil is more cost effective

@staver76 I heard alot of good things about the Volt, my neighbor has one. Also my cousin has a Caddy Escalade Hybrid with high KMs so GM hybrid/electric seem solid. I would have considered it for sure but I wanted a car that is atleast a 2020 model year. I heard people using open pilot on the Prime, is it a " self driving " software?

@@lionsgarage Ah the last year of the volt was 2019, I dont see the appeal to wanting anything 2020 or newer if its all the same internals anyways. Open pilot is like your adaptive cruise and lane centering but upgraded to handle more scenarios - its not as self driving as a tesla but its extremely improved upon the stock and on the highway it almost acts like self driving.

@staver76 Nice. I rarely use cruise controll but I will do some research, sounds like something cool to have. I do Uber part time so 2020 will get me 5 years of service on that platform so thats why I went with 2020.

@@RockNRod. Its intresting that Honda did a hybrid before Toyota but didnt stick with it or expand it to other models like Toyota did.

@@EsenbekAliev_ Teslas are great. But for me this is why this is better. 1. Its a Toyota, better build quality ( even the new Model3 is better than the old one ). Toyotas are very reliable ( this is made in Japan ), lots of dealerships around to get parts. Tesla parts take a realy long time for a part you need to arrive. I know, I waited over a month for a headlight because mine was leaking water inside of it and killed it ( happined twice ). 2. For short drives ( covers my entire commute ), I can use EV mode only But I dont have to depend on electricty only. Some times chargers are busy, what happens if you have a power outage? and they dont work well in cold temps. So I charge on my convenience not because I have to. Also its nice to have a back up gas engine with a full tank of gas when or if you need it. Which also makes it better for road trips. Best of both worlds imo. For me Teslas only advantage is performance, the Model 3 trunk isnt that big also, the Prius Prime is a 5 seater hatch and the hatch is made of carbon fiber, I transported a bicycle the other day inside the car. This prius prime is about 100lbs lighter than the lightest Model 3 Tesla. I dont really care what the public think is a " cooler " car. Seems you like most bought too much into a brand hype and marketing. Again I think Teslas are great but EVs are too limited.

@valentinmikleu If your car still has warranty and it's a Benz, I suggest sticking to what they recommend. You don't want some random repair to come up and they find an excuse not to cover something.

@valentinmikleu I think you are fine, even if you dont think the oil is 100% ideal, the car is still new. Do you do service at the dealer?

@valentinmikleu Maybe talk to the service people next time and see what they say or read on Mercedes owners forums for people with the same engine and what they do. I am not very familiar with new Mercedes. I used to own a W140 S class I6 before, with that car using different oil is not a big issue since it doesn't have alot of sensors and electronics as the new Mercedes cars.

Engines all work the same. The major difference is climate. I drive Mazda and they recommend 0-20 for my region but 5-30 for warmer regions. 0-20 is also generally better for fuel economy. If I would change my oil twice a year I would put 5-30 for summer and 0-20 for winter. When its minus 10 or 20 5-30 hardly flows at all until warmed up. Very bad for the engine.

@@TheDude50447 u should try leaving a cup of it outside on cold days. You’ll be surprised how fluid it stays until about 5 degrees. Besides that in snow country we use engine oil warmers

@ Yes I checked. at around -10C 5-30 is basically frozen. No movement.

@courtneypuzzo2502 wow that's amazing, my neighbor has a 2005. It's a solid car, he gave it to his mom. Camry from the 90s were great, that is what built the reputation Toyota has today.

@@lionsgarage I'm in central Texas, so 5W-30 is highest viscosity for Valvoline R&P. I always monitor Oil Temp for warmup & cool down for best Turbo performance life.

@iziahreil4228 well it's a float type gas measuring and since it's about half it will do that under hard acceleration or going up hill. Depends on the location of the float in the tank, the gas moves to the back of the tank when going up hill or hard acceleration. MY 2015 camry does the opposite, it reads less down hill and when breaking. Just make sure not have less than 1/4 or 1/3 in the tank.
