if anyone ever wants you to quantify how important it is for Uru's servers to be giving you fast loads for this run, just point them to my last PB and then this one
this run had an awful Cleft but after continuing it with a no-reset-to-practice mentality, it dropped in four and a half minutes ahead. also some nice things like very clean first-try skips in Teledahn Door helped.
might be a while until the servers are fast again, but you can see the potential here if I get this pace and a clean start

We're getting killed by the black screens and an awful Eder Gira but at least it's the first run I've finished that made G-Cycle Fewer mistakes server connection behaving and I could get a solid 2nd place time

So we previously always thought NTSC-U wasn't viable for PS1 Myst because of some consistently much longer load times over PAL, but here I got hold of a copy and they seem to perform the same for me also I never want to use a PS Mouse again

amazing going from PS1 to Saturn, the mouse is 1000x smoother to use and seeing how they somehow fit significantly nicer looking graphics and FMV onto one fewer discs it's quite beneficial to take a moment to set up extra zips in these console runs but honestly i'm probably not taking full advantage of them in this run (actually we get to see one extra one I should have used but muscle-memoried...

It kinda looks like the PC version but with a very nice UI mod and played by someone who has never encountered a human computer mouse before There's no separate category for this platform... yet :^) Xbox is mostly the same as PC but with more loading. ScummVM 2.8.0, in which we rebind Skip onto both Forward keys and gallop our way to greatness This megaskipping control scheme has way more legs than this. we watch loading screens and eventually complete a bad Spyro game very very quickly! this is one of those legendary "i can't believe you can beat it that fast" meme runs so it's cool to add it to my roster! also yes I am using an adapter to plug my PS2 controller into my Wii, it's pretty cursed but still not as cursed as actually trying to hold a GameCube controller twitch.tv/allisontowers

Run starts at 2:15 and I do not apologise for the amount of very important character creation I left in this video and with that, the quest to have speedruns of the whole Myst Anthology is complete. It's not amazing or mistake-free but it's certainly a decent Uru run

We have activated Vita Mode. I'll leave this video up for now but the community currently is undecided on allowing Vita This is a Vita 1k running Myst (JP) in Adrenaline, with CPU clocks set to 222/111 to match where it would have been capped on the PSP. It still loads a lot faster, but actually more of this PB is from me just popping off and playing really well

@20:50: "the BIDEN thing," lol! 😂 Glad to see someone else appreciates these old FMVs. I went on a kick in the eary 00's finding all the obscure ones i could, including this one. (It's one of the prettier ones for PS1, and though it was a Japanese exclusive, it having English voice acting makes it one of the easier import FMV Adv. games to get into). Have you heard of one for the Saturn called "Lunacy" (aka "Torico")? Its one of my favorites. The atmosphere and music are great. It was developed by System Sacom, who created some of my other favorites including Lunacy's spiritual predecessors: "Mansion of Hidden Souls" (SegaCD) and it's sequel, "The Mansion of Hidden Souls" (Saturn). Other FMV Adv. games by System Sacom include: "Rampo" (SS), "Jiku Tantei DD" (SS/PS1), "Jiku Tantei 2" (PS1), "Murder on the Eurasian Express" (PS1), "R?MJ: The Mystery Hospital" (PS1/SS), "Gaball Screen" (PS1), and "Iblard- Laputa no Kaeru Machi". Another bizarre gem is "Juggernaut" (PS1). I highly recommend it. Might take a little to get into, but it's a ride you won't forget. (Tonkinhouse, who made Juggernaut, also made a super weird game called: "Cat the Ripper" (PS1) and not much else). Oh yeah, I can't forget to mention the late, great Kenji Eno's masterpieces: "D" (PS1/SS/PC) and "Enemy Zero" (SS). I know you seem to know Cing (love "Hotel Dusk" series and "Trace Memories"!) and The Myst series. I'm trying to remember some PC FMVs i like. Have you played "Bad Mojo," "Ripper," or "The Journeyman Project Trilogy"? Peace.

You can use a plugin that will allow you to send a live view via cable to your computer as a webcam image and record your screen this way
I did wonder if there was anything like that for the Vita that didn't require installing extra hardware like 3DS
@@allisontowers5555 No, unfortunately there is no, but there are guides on RUclips. If something doesn't work for you, it may be a Windows driver issue. This happened to me and after installing every old version of the drivers, it finally worked. You may succeed in 1 second or 30 minutes, it depends on your luck. Anyway, it's really worth it. My Vita has a plugin to show the current battery status, for example, and a custom theme and game screenshots are saved in HD and much more! I really recommend modding the vita
