    Hey Dan, I love the design but as I'm assembling, I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the oring on the front of the plunger that seals in the turn around. maybe this is a dumb question but since no air travels through the center, I just cant make sense of why it would need to seal there.

    • @orionblasters6342
      @orionblasters6342 11 месяцев назад

      When that o-ring enters and seals inside the turnaround it prevents any more air from entering and escaping through the turnaround. That trapped air gets turned into a cushion for the plunger, slowing it down. The system is called an airbrake and I did not invent it!

    Any idea what causes the catch to get stuck when the spring is compressed? It appears to work fine when the spring is not compressed but when it is, I pull the trigger and the catch doesn’t even move a bit.

    • @orionblasters6342

      A couple ideas: - Catch installed backwards - Catch needs a touch of lube or pencil lead rubbed on it - Trigger/sear are flexing too much or don't have enough travel, try these files: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1UKZLl3hswK6y9Cg4NjR99ewBcxBP47Im

    What exactly is this part between mag holder and turnarount? Due to its slightly smaler hole and its thickness the ramp can not do what it is suposed to do. I can not even figure out how to make it air seale. Can you explain what it is?

    • @orionblasters6342
      @orionblasters6342 2 года назад

      The ram seals into the turnaround, not the dart guide which is the piece I believe you are describing. If the ram cannot clear the hole in the dart guide it's possible the ram screw is tightened too much, causing the o-ring to squish out too far.

      @@orionblasters6342 The printer parts are from a metric version from thingiverse. I am from europe and therefore my equipment is also metric. The problems are mainly arround the right Barrel(eather Worker Darts are to big or Dart Zone Darts are to small, so i made 2 barrels) the Air seal in front of the ramp and getting the catch doing its job regardless of the used spring. I started with a 5Kilo spring to focus on the air seal issues. But after switching to 15 Kilo the catch was no longer strong enough. Beeing able to shoot some Darts in the office and also on the field would be cool but this wont work. The Metal plunger and catch helped but still loses it sometimes under the pressure. Due to 200+ lbs is still dangerous in short range when shot accidentaly i focused on the 5 Kilo spring. With little joy as you could Imagine. The pew pew is not the same :) Anyway thanks for reaching out but i am allready using my experience to build up a similar blaster with lower maintenance. And also could there be some issues in the metric version(maybe outdated). But let me know If you someday will come up with a metric version.

      Hi Kurtis! A couple hours ago some other Lynx owners and I figured out that the plunger tube material I've been shipping out recently has been too big. It turns out that while it is technically within the manufacturers spec, it is much larger than what we normally get and thus doesn't seal well with the included hardware. I apologize for not catching it - until this point I've never received a bad batch of plunger tube material, so I didn't know to be checking the dimensions. I'll be sending an email out in the coming days to all that purchased hardware kits in the last few weeks to work on resolving the issue. In the meantime some of the lynx owners with oversized plunger tubes have used teflon tape under the oring to fix the seal. While I wouldn't consider this a permanent solution, it's at least enough to get you through a few games while we figure out a better fix. Look for that email in the coming days, thanks!
