How did u get the hole in the onions
@@SonShines1 place the onion in the refrigerator for about an hour, then slice about 3/4” thick. Push through the onion gently to separate rings. Sorry I didn’t record that part.
Pour the leftover batter through a funnel after adding a little garlic powder!
Yum!

Found this channel after I came from the chicken cordon blue video of chef Jean Pierre 😁 This is something completely different but I absolutely love this idea! I do feel sad you lost all that crispy crust from the chicken you worked so hard on! Your other idea of adding toasted breadcrums on top also sounded very good! You could basically just add cut up cooked chicken breast and mix it all togheter with the ham, potatoes and some of that cheese sauce Followed by something like a parmigiano seasoned panko breading, basically creating a giant cordon blue 😁🤩

Hell yeah, keep it up! My only recommendation would be for sealing. Make a little slurry of flour and water to spread on the sealing edge and it'll set up and hold pretty well instead of the toothpicks!

Holy Cow that's a lot of tomato paste. YIKES! No beef broth, tomato juice or kidney beans? Not much seasoning either but that is a really small batch. My grandma put chili powder, cumin and paprika in hers along with lots of black pepper some salt and a little bit of brown sugar to mellow out the tomatoes. This does look good and it's a quick simple version easy enough to bump up the spices to taste.
Thanks for watching
Looks yummy but i was wondering is that enough liquid to cook the rice

Great recipe. I'm making this for dinner tomorrow. Thanks for the idea.
Hope you enjoy
So, I made this recipe today and it turned out awesome! I did change a thing or two due to not having certain ingredients on hand, so I made do with what I had. I used thick sliced peppered bacon on top of all the ingredients before the cheese. I also didn't do the crumbled sausage, I used whole patties. I did not have any cheddar cheese on hand, so I changed that to a mix of Monterrey Jack and Italian style shredded cheese. I used 8 eggs and 8 biscuits as in the recipe and put salt and pepper as well. Very filling I must say! I did not have the potatoes in it either, sorry no stock on that either. In the future I would add more stuff to make it hot as I am a heat freak! When I make it next, I will proceed the way the recipe states, but will add some extra's. Overall, this kicks ass and is a helluva an idea!!!
@@johng9940 great! Glad you enjoyed it.

That's one of my favorite comfort foods. I make mine pretty plain with just the ground beef, onion, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce instead of paste. I add a cheese sauce to the leftover elbow macaroni. I let everyone season theirs up the way they want it. I like red pepper flakes in mine.

My granny would either call it Goulash or Hobo Stew. So the name changes, but the basic dish is the same.
My mom made it just like this. We called it goulash.

@@Pattilapeep thanks for watching!
I make it too and know the recipe by heart. My sister loved it and still asks me to make it when I visit her from Florida. She is up north. I have always called it American Goulash. But recently I learned its vintage name called Hoover Stew. It is a recipe that was born out of the Depression era. Interestingly it is a cheap comfort food that filled many bellies back then and kept many people from total starvation.
I don't know. The recipes I've seen for Hoover Stew are not the same as Goulash.
