A molecule of water has a bent or v-shaped structure. There exists two vertical plane of symmetry parallel to the principal axis about which the rotation takes place as it has C2 axis of symmetry. The horizontal plane of symmetry is not present in it as this plane causes the hydrogen atoms of water molecule to flip from downside to upward. In this way, their position changed . That's why , there is no sigma h in H2O.
