Trying to play a 50s family in The Sims 4
Can I pretend my sims family lives in the 1950s? Yes, my delusion knows no bounds.
I built a 50s house recently and finally moved in my 50s family. You can watch the build here:

Making my sim cook everything in The Sims 4

If you play a sim long enough it's inevitable that they'll max the cooking skill. But, have you seen all the recipes they have in this game? I really wanted to find out. The painting challenge I tried before this: ruclips.net/video/SsVacPG44gE/видео.html The speed build of this house: ruclips.net/video/0jop_Rayj-4/видео.html My Sims 4 gallery id: dani_oak1 Check out my Instagram I post a lot: i...
Can I build a 1950's house in The Sims 4

Being obsessed with mid century design, I was determined to make a 50s house. Is it possible in The Sims 4 to have a retro family in a retro home? Check out my instagram I'm on it a lot: dani.oak_ My Sims 4 gallery id: dani_oak1
Painting every painting in The Sims 4
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
Every time I play, I have a sim paint and I haven't seen every painting in The Sims 4. I still don't think I've seen every painting, but I had a sim paint every minute of every day to see as many as I could. Check out my Instagram, I post a lot: dani.oak_ My sim's art gallery build: ruclips.net/video/8sFquyO4jJk/видео.html

I had a sim that was painting nonstop so I built an art gallery to hold all their artwork. My instagram: dani.oak_

I like this. I'm going to do a legacy challenge starting in the 50s and going until modern times
Loved that you did this but im shocked you didn't notice hoe you NEEDED to put more lights for us to see the actual paintings.
late 1960s : most American homes have TV late 1960s : most Chinese homes have a radio and newspaper to hear the news and entertainment; this is the Cultural Revolution era ; wait for the Reform-and-Opening-Up period in the '80s when Chinese homes are getting richer and can afford newer foreign imports such as TVs 1970s : Vietnam war, hippies, counterculture movement, anti-war for US 1970s : China is still stuck in the Cultural Revolution era 1980s : US Baby Boomers come of age and become parents. Well, at least the older ones do. The younger Baby Boomers may wait a while. Labor regulations make US businesses struggle so they try to outsource factory labor... to China. 1980s in China : The Big Economic Boom. China also has a great wealth of young people willing to work in the factories and move from the countryside into the cities in search of work. At this point, the young adults have a ton of siblings, but they are the first generation to be affected by China's One Child Policy (really it is actually a One Birth Policy) especially if they are ethnic Han and live in the cities. 1990s : this might have been the golden age of US dominance and hegemony. Life is good for Americans. Products are cheap because of China. Americans have a high standard of living (McMansions anyone?) and high quality of life compared to Chinese people and other people of the non-western world. Plus, the Soviets are no longer a threat to US hegemony. 2000s : US is too busy with the Middle East / West Asia to notice China, and China is not really considered a threat at this stage. 2010s : China's economic and technological rise is seen as a threat by the US, and the US is doing its best to curb China's power. But here's the thing. China's huge population size is a big factor to the economic size. If you want China to return to 1980 levels, then the average Chinese citizen would be so poor beyond belief. Plus, you have to factor in the Chinese work culture. Like their East Asian counterparts, Chinese people work a lot. Once you factor in the total population size, the work culture/work ethics, emphasis on education and skill and meritocracy, it is understandable how China has risen so quickly. **This is not to say that Americans aren't hard-working.** Americans are, but the population size is certainly much smaller. And the work culture is different.
the 1950s were a time of great rebuilding world war 2 was over Europe was a mess the colonies were fed up with European colonization too, plus the colonizers were broke from the war American soldiers return home and get married and have kids and return to civilian life and they just want a normal traditional life while most of Europe was in shambles, America was left over as the only superpower remaining, apart from the Soviet Union and between them, they engaged in a tough Cold War, using smaller countries as pawns to do their bidding and to fight for ideological causes (just ask the Koreas and Vietnam) the PRC is founded, and shortly after, the US tries to take over Korea, which is a great national security risk for China the PRC sides with the DPRK and the US sides with the ROK, and now they are still at war Vietnam's communists won over the pro-democracy supporters and united Vietnam completely a lot of those South Vietnamese refugees came to the US and became Vietnamese Americans, and that's how you get a lot of books by Viet American authors who are tied to the Vietnam war the best era for the US was probably the 1990s, because the 1990s was like the golden age of the US power at the time, the Soviet Union collapsed, making the US the sole superpower that could crush any country's economy at will at the time, the Baby Boomers were in their reproductive prime, raising kids called the Millennials the US still has immense power in the world, but that power is definitely waning with the rise of emerging economies such as BRICS funny how the G8 became the G7 just because Russia got kicked out and joined the BRICS
cool
I absolutely love this home! I adore vintage houses! And I think you did a wonderful job!
This was a great build, I’m trying to do something similar with my Artist sim. How did you get your sim to be able to own/ rent this space though? My only options are for her to buy a retail or a restaurant
Look up 1516 nw 36 in okc that was my grandparents house bought in 1938 would you make it
I’m turning willow creek into 1950 New Orleans so this put me in the right direction
This kinda looks like my grandma's house
What pack is the painting storage rack from? 🥺🥺🥺
this is and amazing build!! you did such a good job!
քʀօʍօֆʍ 💃
Love your family! another episode in the sixties would be really cool too😄
I am loving your content... Found her in the sims gallery for those who are also looking. Her name is ... dani_oak1

5:27 Record player: *lays on a nice height table, easy to reach* John: literally unusable. Dani: *drops the record player on the frickin floor* John: finally, something functional in this house. By the way, I loved your look today!
I love your commentary! Great speaker! :)

you're so sweet!
New subbie! I love it here 😅😂
is this avail in the gallery?
I forgot to put my gallery id in the description, sorry! It should be on my gallery and my id is dani_oak1
Love your gameplay videos and this idea. It would be nice to see pictures of every meal, maybe in a restaurant - like the art gallery for all the paintings of your sim?
I had the same glitch with that oven! Must be a bug! (ps loving your videos)
Interesting! It must be the oven
How fresh and fun, I love your videos!🥰
Your video ideas are so creative. Obsessed with your content.
thank you!!
Grief is the worst, sorry for your loss.
I'm glad I discovered this channel! Your voice is so like, very soothing, and the build is awesome! Loved the long line of shelves you did by the sides of the chimney!
<3
I'm obsessed with this build! Not a style I can pull off, but this is incredible. If I use the shell, how can I tag you to show you screenshots?
that’s what ever house in my city looks like
I think this got recommended to me because I love Sims 4 videos and painting videos?!?! I, too, have frequently painted and I know I see paintings in videos that I've never seen. I think some of the packs have new paintings in them? Or have they updated the base game? Anyway, I thought you were literally going to paint the paintings physically LOL
I realized after that it sounded like that haha
Omg this is so funny 2 me cause I have created a sims family that looks 2 be out of the 1950s or 60s well the parents mostly their daughter will dress like her parents want when shes around them but when she isnt shes got a more rebel look and kinda sexy she even has an older boyfriend her parents know nothing about the dad kinda just goes along with whatever his wife wants but he deep down rather not dress like hes stuck in the past he only does it because he loves his wife
That's amazing!! I love having those kind of stories!
@@DaniOakYT yeah I wish I could share my sims stories in videos but I know nothing about editing and stuff Im not a very tech kind of person
The house is absolutely effing stunning and your commentary made it even better!
You're so sweet!
loved this video, kisses from Brazil!
pleaseeeeee upload it to the gallery
I just figured out how to do it today haha. My id is dani_oak1
Just discovered your channel and I love your stuff! This build especially is so cool! Can't wait to see more videos soon :)
Thank you so much!
What’s your gallery id
dani_oak1
OMG I love painting too and almost every my sim is a painter or that is their hobby🥰
Do you upload everything to the gallery?
I actually just figured out I should be doing that today haha. My name on there is dani_oak1
Great video
thank you!
OMG!! I really hope this build is on the gallery!! I'm so glad you did this! My sim painted one landscape that I loved, but the game crashed and I was never able to get it again! I actually see it on that wall of impressionist paintings!!
Oh no! I saw so many when I was making this video that I wish more of my sims would actually paint.
Wow this just got recommended to me! Such a cool vid!
I thought you'd painted them in real life at first lol. I would pay someone for the Arnolfini with cats paintings to hang on my wall
I’ve always wanted to make a gallery in the sims! This is such a good idea, I love how you designed the space for the paintings
The little painting class room is great too! You did really well :>
Love this idea <3
This was recommended to me but when my computer was up and running you could paint your surroundings.
It's really annoying how repetitive the painting is, because I know there are so many paintings I've never seen and so many I've seen a million times. Thanks for doing this! I love your Admiral Squirrel.
This popped in my recommendations and you holding a brush in the thumbnail, I thought this was a video of you painting all the sims 4 paintings irl 😂😂 Still, fun video!!
Same and I was ready to send her money for some of them lol, like the goth bride
don't tempt me! haha
@@DaniOakYT hahaha good luck if you ever attempt to do it,it seems like it would take ages! At least you have the squirrel already? 😂
