sorry for the quality, it's a mobile recording
Magical tune & a performance here to match. He was kinda new then, it seemed to me … and I was thinkin’, where the fuck did this superstar come from? Been a fan ever since.
Excellent blues music…
Hayes/Cousins rhythm section is RCB at its best
I think this tune comes off his strong persuader album Of which I feel was an absolutely awesome album right from the first opening drum beat to the last guitar lick Robert Cray is every bit the super rich blues man as many of the masters before him I love listening to his music, and seeing him live even better❤️🔥
This is the first track off of "Midnight Stroll." He was touring in support of that album at the time of this recording.
That voice is smooth like butter
Супер!!!
la puta ostia!!! vaya directazo al cerebelo
Лучше оригинала
This is my favorite Austin City Limits episode. It was Robert, Buddy Guy, and a tribute to the late and great Stevie Ray Vaughn
Какой альбом! Какие песни!!!! Ребят, респектище Вам!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The rhythm guitar player was my high school econ teacher! Mr. K, awesome guy who passed away a few years back.
Cool
Gosto muito do som desse cara.Conheci através de um amigo quando me apresentou o CD "TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF" Eu estava num momento muito triste e esse disco foi um alento.
Robert Cray at his worst is amazing... this performance is at his best. Go figure!
Jan 3rd 2020 brought me here... Next week's forecast.
So clean. Does Robert even use any effects ? Tim Kaihatsu fills in so perfect. Brilliant.
I always wondered about that too...just a straight up clean sound..
No effects. I saw an interview once saying he didn't use any
Next level
4:27 fkn awesome keychange. Smoked a little weed to that outro
Anyone know what kind of bass that is?
Has Nile Rogers had input on this tune, the chords and rhythm is very in his style....
It's nothing like it
@@martinwaplington966 Imagine playing at a higher tempo, and see if you can't hear it ;-)
@@martinwaplington966 Try playing le freak in the same tempo and see what you find 😉
Judge Lance Ito holding down the rhythm guitar
I would give my left nut to play guitar like this man.
Прямо напомнили Гари Брукера из Procol Harum. Тот точно также, за электропиано.
Love this!
There is so much soul in this guy's music, its hardly believable...he's one of a kind....i wish someone would post the entire show....as i recall, at the end of this show they played some previously unreleased songs from Stevie Ray Vaughan's last performance on ACL
I wish the audio on this was a bit less compressed sounding, but I love this upload!
Legend. You can't compare him - it's an insult.
I love his old stuff albums Midnight stroll and Sweet potato pie but have not been able to get into his new stuff. Maybe I need to listen more to it. Any recommendations out there for me?
He needs to get some Horns
Andy Simpson try Nothing But Love album great new stuff like I'm Done Crying and Sadder Days.
I find his latest album kind of 'back to the good ole days'. Some Rainy Morning possibly my favourite album.
Cray's whole catalog is amazing. He has balanced sticking to roots while growing as an artist. Give it all a try!
My guitar Idol
such an underrated blues guitarist. His signature bright and precise tone and those bends are matchless. Even though I liked more tracks of SRV, Clapton, King vs rather than those of Robert, I realize that I was always in the pursuit of this tone and playing style unconciously.
+Hüsamettin Yaratici i always thought he chased a mark knopfler sound
+Simon Robeyns As much as I love Knopfler, he couldn't hold a candle to Robert Cray. Anyway, he pre-dates Knopfler.
+Rick Ellis I'm not sure that's fair , Knopfler has some great chops especially live (Alchemy).
rest in peace tim kaihatsu
Tim played rhythm guitar. He stands on stage to the right of Robert Cray. He was a long time friend of mine, back into high school days. A fine guitarist and musician. I miss him.
Hi John, Good to read some words from a guy who ´ve been lucky to cross Tim’s road 🎸
BECAUSE OF ME~~~OH, SHE WAS RIGHT NEXT DOOR - SHE'S GONNA LOOSE THE MAN WHO REALLY LOVES HER~~~ LOVE MR. ROBERT CRAY AND THE BAND BAD, BAD, BAD
Loved this line-up. Fantastic.
I first saw Robert Cray a couple of times he was the support act on a Tina Turner tour in the mid 80s and I'm looking forward to seeing him in Edinburgh next May!!
So how was the show?
вещь супер
i will be seeing this man tomorrow night
master player of soul blues
Как здорово! Бесподобное исполнение канонического варианта песни!
Да, класс! ELO рулит)))))))
Oh yeah! Love this performance. The whole set with the Memphis Horns. Thanks for posting.
Jeez...Tim Kaihatsu...haven't seen his name since the early Charlie Musselwhite days. He played a mean Tennessee Woman in the Louisiana Fog album.
... She was just another notch on my guitar...
god
Chirch, old skool
1:15 musical ear
i have been listening to this man for 30yrs and he just keeps getting better and better . . . . . . vocals are still amazing!!!!!! you the man ROBERT CRAY!
