The interesting thing is that most women on your video were jeans, so it’s not that Parisian women were always trouser pants…or dresses

I think you are very beautiful woman and the blouse you are wearing looks ok on you but on a lot of people over 50 it would look very conservative and like going to church… I’m European so I know what people wear in Europe and USA… USA is more casual and sporty even in big towns… comfort is the most important part of dressing up here…driving a car every day you need to be comfortable… conservative dressing is mostly in corporate work areas….from my observation a lot of European women dress to conservative and they look older than they are… and o lot of them wear not the best quality of fabrics… taking a walk to work or using local transport is different then driving to work in the car for many hours… I think that we can wear more sporty outfits ( not gym clothes😅) good quality clothes and cute sneakers and look very stylish …

What did I miss? I counted 4: jeans, sneakers, striped shirt, puffer jacket.

What delusional lies and myths are they spreading! I have been in summer time and winter time and I saw plenty of women wearing jeans and sneakers. Enough of 5he fake news.

The term elegance may not mean the same thing today that it meant decades ago, I would rather be in style with modern trends than dated with old styles. I saw jeans and sneakers in Paris and they looked very beautiful. But everyone can obviously choose their own style.

Sorry but I don’t agree at all, I live in Paris. Chic icon and symbol of Parisian style Ines de la Fressange who was also very famous model and muse of Karl Lagerfeld wears sneakers, blue jeans and is very famous of her pull marine collection. Nowadays fashion designer and perfumer.

I just want to say this: European has way more better shoes option then north Americain, and that's is why people in North America are way more prone to wear sneakers over here (North America in general)... I hate sneakers and love Oxford and loafers and my favorite are European shoe brand or made in Europe but the duties and shipping make them so costly (you can easily add 80$ to 100$ just for the shipping and duties). Chie Mihara, Melvin and Hamilton, un tour de ville, Spring step l'artisan all made in Portugal, Spain, France etc. they look good and are nice walkable shoes that are hard to find in Canada.

All those items are things I wear. I could wear a pair of jeans and trainers with a stripey top. My puffer coat on top, maybe with a beret. Both are pale grey. The rule doesn't apply to me as I live near the seaside in the country.

Oh nooooo you didn't like Montréal!!!! :( I love the city after 3-4 months here (Montreal) I called my boyfriend et now husband to say I wouldn't return home... mind you I'm French Canadian from Ontario so even if ''culture'' is a little different from a province to another I still didn't have a big culture shock from moving here.

I think jeans can be very classy and elegant, it depends on how you wear them. Jeans are just another type of material. They do wear sneakers. I know someone who just came back from Paris and was surprised at the amount of sneakers she saw. I think this is why I prefer Scandinavian style. It’s stylish practical and relatable.

You’re the first person to ever share my opinion: I don’t think blue jeans or sneakers are elegant, either. I rarely wear jeans because I find denim so uncomfortable and blue denim looks too casual, especially if faded, highlighted, bleached, distressed, etc. If I can’t wear white jeans, and I must wear jeans, I wear the non-faded, original dark indigo 501s. Sneakers are great for exercise, but they can’t be called elegant. I would much rather wear a quality leather boot, sandal, loafer or comfy pump like Sezane’s Paula Babies. I like a mid-heel, no higher than about 2.5 inches. I’m really much more comfortable in dresses or skirts, year-round, than stiff, tight, hot jeans and I never can find a reasonable fit in them, either. If I must wear trousers, I’d rather wear a nice wool, linen or silk pair. Denim has those faded, puckered, flat-felled seams that are super-casual looking, it’s not a look I like.

I completely agree with you. I liked your video. I lived in Paris for ten years and I never saw elegant Parisian women wear jeans, trainer shoes, puffer jackets, stripped Breton shirts, or berets. The women I saw wearing all of the above were American female tourists that thought they were "looking French"!
