Hey! My name is Jacob - my family calls me Jake, and this is my twist on the phrase "A Jack of all Trades".
My background includes film school, video production/editor, and Quality Specialist.
The goal of this channel is to get better at making videos, and to hone the skills I have.
Along this journey, you get a front row seat at seeing all my failures and successes. Maybe this will help you create your own cool videos!
Thanks for the support and take care!

Great job, congratulations! The next racket would be Wilson Triad Three.
How does this compare with tweener racquets you've played so far?
😂😂
First baby!
Legend 😂
It’s funny because the first time I used i hate it, but only 3rd time using the pure aero 98 and I’m enjoying my game a lot
What strings do you recommend?, I like to play with lots of spin, volleys and aggressive shots
I have not done a deep dive into strings yet, but from personal experience I really enjoy the "Tourna Big Hitter Black 7". I can get a lot of spin from those strings.
Im a 4.0 player and had a hard time hitting with the PA98 for the first time, it’s my 3rd time training with it and man im loving it, it’s honestly harder to play than my pure drive but the PA98 it’s giving me more depth, powerful and controlled shots

Thank you. Awesome review. I like the way you do your reviews on your channel. Keep it up and I’m looking forward to seeing more. I’m interested on your take on Head Boom MP ‘24. 👍🏽
I'm glad you reviewed this racket. For many years now the Instinct MP has been a very solid choice. It's basically a larger (100 versus 98) and slightly lighter Head Radical. Relatively dense string pattern and moderately thick beam. Or you could call it a more controllable and lighter Pure Drive. It's not specialized for any particular game style but by the same token does not have any weaknesses. It's what players call "transparent" -- you just get your own game out of it. I bought it for one of my kids and have experimented with playing a set with it at the end of friendly matches. It requires me to swing a little more aggressively than with my usual Ezone 98 but I beat the same people with pretty much the same score. My kids find it far easier to play with than almost any other racket. So, it's a great choice for any non-expert player. If you want the next step up in ease of use and low price point, try the Speed MP Graphene XT or the Radical S Graphene XT--even lighter and cheaper.
I'm itching to try the Radical S!
great review! I like that you went over the 3 main things, without extra fluff: 1. method of testing 2. all the specs 3. high level recommendations I also like the "fatigue" rating. Definitely not something that everyone out there talks about in racket reviews, to this level of detail.
Great video! Love the format. Have you ever hit with the Vcore 98? If so what were your thoughts against the pure aero 98?
Funny - someone else on another video just asked me the same thing if I have tried the Vcore 98. I have not yet, but I will put it in the queue!
@ thank you sir! The style of having a set allocation to certain shots seems the most scientific way to test specific parameters. Keep it up I’m subscribed!
Amazing review btw!
Have you tired the regular 100 clash? How do they compare aside from weight?
I have played with the regular clash once a long time ago. I could revisit that racquet and see how it compares!
the video is great plz make video about wilson blade wilson shift and clash
Sounds good! I'll put those racquets into the queue!
Which string did you use?
Synthetic gut at 60 lbs, which is usually higher tension than what I normally play with.
Brilliant concept! Can you please do a review of the new ezone 100 please? And maybe do an ezone 98 vs vcore 98 comparison too?
Thank you! The new ezone 100 is in the queue already. Ill see if I can get my hands on an ezone 98 and vcore 98.
Thanks a lot! I need to find a testing model, before seriuosly considering moving from my good old 3x Graphene XT Radical MP (iirc !) 🙂
firstt
So its been a year? How is tennis going? Any tournament wins? Are you moving to 4.5?
Tennis is going good! I actually played a handful of 4.5 players last year and got my butt kicked 😵 So I need to do a lot more training before leveling up.
Thank yu for sharing!
Way to go bro! You got solid ground strokes! You will be 4.5 player instantly if you improve your serve.
Good job Jake. I love your "Jake Of All Trades". Great effort. You are an inspiration. I'm on the same boat, but I'm 43. Look forward to more videos. Great work. Good effort!!
the "meh" came so out of left field, I died 😂
great video
I got to a pretty solid 3.5 level (based off of external input) in 3 years of playing on average once a week with no lessons or practice sessions with ball machines. In my head I believe that I'll just keep improving at this rate and naturally move up to 4.0 in 6 months or so but maybe I'm fooling myself and I need to get some lessons and ball machine practice time. Also, I do need to join a 3.5 league to really see where I'm at.
Great video mate
Good job, can you make video like that with polyester string?)
Just came across this video, great self awareness and willingness to work hard to improve. Definitely true about forcing yourself to play people at a higher level outside your comfort zone. I’ve had the same problem just playing with friends or players in my league who are 3.5 which don’t challenge me enough
I appreciate you using Evans and Gonzalez as examples. I miss watching Gonzalez!
I'd really like to see an analysis like this with the older generation - Laver, Borg, Lendl, Mac etc. I think it would give a greater appreciation of how good these guys were, given the equipment and methods they had.
Interesting blend of your passions. Until some recent films, tennis movies have traditionally been made by actors who didn’t actually play the game, and for a devoted tennis player watching them, it was painfully obvious. Keep it up!
Wow. You must have amazing video/editing equipment to films this. Very cool!
The physical aspects of your approach are SPOT ON for club players who can't afford a personal trainer! Love the use of the ball machine on random and running down every ball!!
Eh. Cool video and all but I'm different. This championship run coming soon
I moved from the pure drive 2021 to the pure strike vs. The level of control on the psvs is amazing. I found it hard to put the ball where I wanted it to when using the pure drive but with the psvs I'm making my opponents run from side to side cause I can now hit the corners
Excellent breakdown. I wish I could play tennis this much.
delish
i think that was a little too roasted
Cool
Where are you based? I'm super jealous of those indoor courts.
Reaction time and anticipation just comes with reps . Its the lateral quickness/reach and power that makes the difference.
This is such a cool vid
Dude you’re not even using the original frame after all your customizations… it’s basically a different racket.
Not because they are pro, then they can smoke you. Its because they are at least able to smoke amateur, then they consider to turn themselves into a career
couldnt be more right, the other day i got the chance to pay against a 2000 atp player who is currently making his rise through the ranking and i got destroyed 6/1 6/0 and im a good player myself, be carefull with judging television tennis....
That's some good shots!
If you transform the content, you can use videos created by others. Side-by-side analysis with commentary is transformative. Just be careful about play too much at one time. So, don’t play 5 minutes of the USO without a break for commentary. Even the most careful content creators receive copyright strikes because the big media companies can submit a strike easily, but content creators can appeal strikes.
Oh ok gotcha, thanks for the advice!
Congrats on the marriage
Thanks!
