    Thanks for this, great systematic routine. Question on backhand volley-I see you use two handed backhand for this, though most teachers teach one handed backhand volley. Seeing how much speed you can create with the two handed I might be sold on that!

    nice collection of vintage racquets, wood, steel, graphite and maybe aluminum. i recognize the donnay borg, wilson t3000 and the wilson sting. i have a small collection of racquets i started when i was younger. wilson stan smith and jack kramer autograph, dunlop maxplay fort, wilson t2000, head master, rawlings tiebreaker, prince pro, donnay pro one, and what i still use today, my slazenger panther pro ceramic.

    hi coach eli. i started playing tennis in the decades before bjorn borg made topspin popular. the flat forehand is my shot of choice. these days, topspin is the main focus. how is it that you became to like the flat forehand too?

      Hahah in my early years, female tennis was ruled by Sharapova and Serena & Venus. It was the focus of our practices as female tennis was becoming more and more aggressive!

    hi coach eli. i coach and develop mostly juniors 10u orange and green ball. when i go to events and tournaments, very often i see many juniors with racquets strung with polyester strings. for some reason parents and coaches are misguided that poly strings are the best because pros use it and and it will make their junior play better. i still use plain syn-gut and occasionally multifilament and these are great strings.

    • @eli_pironkova_tennis
      @eli_pironkova_tennis 7 дней назад

      I think the main advantage of the poly string is the durability and the tension retention! Which in turn gives the feeling of control without having to restring super often. However the feel of the multifilament strings or synthetic gut and natural gut is far superior. They break more often and the tension drops almost immediately Depending on the string! It is always personal decision, but good idea to try different strings and hybrids!

    hi eli. this is a very helpful, simple and straight forward video. when i played tennis, the closed stance was the norm. as the game of tennis and technique has evolved over the decades, so has stances. good players can use all 4, for different situations. thank you.

    • @eli_pironkova_tennis

    hi eli. i have a few students, juniors and adults who have ball machines. im looking to get one too, but the investment is something i have to really think about. i do agree with you about using new or newer balls for practice. many use old balls that are flat and have no real benefit. do you have opinions about pressureless balls and any entry level machines you could recommend. i see you have a tutor prolite. i see you live in the sfbay area. i hope to have the privilege to meet you some day. btw, i just subscribed but your weblink is not working. thank you.

      Hi thanks for your nice words! I have tried some pressure less balls like gamma that work pretty well with the ball machine and are durable as well! My ball machine is second hand from a neighbor for a fraction of the price of the new one and works just fine as well! Good luck 👍🏻🎾🎾

    I agree that repetition is important to develop the muscle memory needed for consistency. However new players in particular need to be aware that if their stroke technique is flawed then it can be difficult to undo the flaws and retrain the body. In addition, flawed technique especially in the service motion can lead to shoulder and elbow injuries. If this is happening then probably time to get a lesson from a professional. For much older players repetition of (60 balls and more) can result in arthritis and other injuries that are “age related”. So be careful. . In conclusion I think your stroke techniques are fundamentally good and your comments very helpful. Thank you.

    Very cool video! I’m also a tennis coach. One thing I might suggest with true adult beginners is just don’t be afraid to break out red or orange or green balls. These have less compression but definitely help get a rally going. Keep sending these awesome videos!! Hope she keeps playing tennis!!

    You might want to try the six sided ReString Zero on the mains and the rounded ReString Sync on the crosses. The string realignment after each shot is the best strings I've used.
