Hi❣️I'm a Nara citizen. Thank you for introducing me to Nara, Japan. ☺️ The deer in Nara Park have been carefully protected as a vehicle for the gods since about 1300 years ago, when a legend says that "one of the Japanese gods flew to Nara on the back of a deer." Therefore, there is a trusting relationship between humans and deer, and they are rare animals in the world that coexist with humans. And as for deer, they are not that dangerous animals except at certain times. ☝️ First of all, during the time when fawns are born from around May to summer, if a human approaches a fawn carelessly, the mother deer may hit or charge with her front legs to protect the fawn. Also, if you stroke a fawn with your hands because you think it's cute, the human scent will transfer to the fawn, and the mother deer, disliking this, will abandon her child and not give her milk, and the fawn will depart for heaven. 😢 If you find a fawn, please do not approach it, and do not touch it, but watch it from a distance. 🥰 Next, in autumn, from September to November, when the deer are in love❤️ (rutting season), the male deer become aggressive and their antlers become sharp. They fight over female deer, butt their antlers against each other, and start wrestling regardless of the location. 😅 During this time, it is very dangerous to approach male deer⚠️, so if you see them, we strongly recommend that you immediately move away from the area. 🦌…👀 (In Nara Park, in order to prevent accidents caused by male deer antlers, the antlers of male deer are removed one by one in the fall, but since it takes several days to remove all the antlers, it is wise to avoid male deer regardless of whether they have antlers or not.☝️) Finally, deer are herbivores and usually eat grass and leaves🌿, and you can also buy and feed them "deer crackers(Shika-Senbei、鹿せんべい)" for deer as a snack. However, there are some ignorant people who feed them human snacks and bread, but this should never be done. ❌ Human food contains salt, sugar, fats and oils, and spices, all of which make deer sick. ☝️ When you visit Nara Park, we hope you will understand the above three points and take home memories of a fun trip. ☺️ Thank you very much. 🙏😌🍀

Hi❣️I'm a Nara citizen. Thank you for your reply. ☺️ I take care of the deer once or twice a week, so I understand their behavior, the messages they send silently, and the actions that humans should not take towards them. 🦌 So I wrote a slightly longer message for viewers about the relationship between deer and humans. Nara is truly a mysterious city, but deer and humans coexist in harmony. I hope that people visiting Nara from abroad will be able to feel this mysterious harmony and the peace that transcends the species of humans and animals. 🦌❤️☺️ Thank you very much. 🤗🍀
