Thanks. I pick up pieces literally everywhere. Shopgoopdwill has been very helpful at finding hard- to- find pieces for realistic prices. EBAY you have to monitor regularly, watch for the piece and then watch for the price.

Hello Joanne! Glad to hear your doing well. We have had our share of health crises. In fact the villages had their start in 2009. I saw a Christmas building at Kohls that peaked my interest. I picked it up on the way to the hospital for yet another surgery. During the weeks of my recouperation I picked up a few more pieces and started watching RUclips videos of Christmas villages. Fast forward 14 years and now I have over 500 buildings for every holiday. I have all different brands and pick some up retail, but most are from flea markets, garage sales, goodwill, ebay etc. We have run out of closet and garage space because of this ever expanding hobby. I haven't even put up the entire Christmas village in years. We both retired now, though I work as a consultant for a school District still. We have five grandkids and babysit the youngest five days a week, he is now 20 months. John has been watching him since he was six weeks old. Have the Merriest Christmas!

The fireworks are actually a large screen tv with RUclips fireworks videos playing in the background. I take the pictures then move the village in front of the fireplace.
