    Thank you! I've been looking for some kind of video or explanation about this. I'm shocked many others do not talk about this. This is very controversial part of Westminster. I can finally truly understand what this paragraph means. I've struggled with it. Many others dismiss it as God's will. Ultimately you draw that conclusion too. But I like the way you distinguish the two aspects of evil and how God uses it. Thank you.

What a blessing that your version appeared so easily. May your ministry to us greatly increase in our day. We desperately need the beauty and power of these lovely old hymns. You have served us well! Better is a sin that humbles us than a good deed that makes us proud 🔥🔥🔥

    • @robertyoder5477
      @robertyoder5477 7 месяцев назад

      Both are sins. How does this square with 1 Corinthians 10:13 and all the many verses that tell us to put off sin and put on righteousness. I really struggle with this doctrine, especially when it comes to Christian divorce/immorality which often cause children to turn from the faith and can affect many generations down the road like David.

    • @Afellowsheep92
      @Afellowsheep92 5 месяцев назад

      @@robertyoder5477it’s not to say that we sin that. Grace may abound more, God forbid as Paul says. But there are many times where Christians come to faith and have underlying sin that they struggle with as saved individuals. God allows them through His providence to continue in his sin, to meat out the greater good God has in-store for him. A truly repentant sinner will a) be humbled in his sin or b) fall flat on his face with no other way to look all the while recognizing that he is indeed in need of Christ. Which Christ in turn opens the door for repentance. You see an unsaved individual wouldn’t even recognize that there is a problem(because of his sin fallen state) where as a true child of God will be brought to remembrance so great that salvation in which He saved them.

    The church's one foundation Is Jesus Christ her Lord; She is his new creation By water and the Word. From heaven he came and sought her To be his holy bride; With his own blood he bought her, And for her life he died. Elect from every nation, Yet one o'er all the earth; Her charter of salvation, One Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy name she blesses, Partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses, With every grace endued. Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of her war, She waits the consummation Of peace forevermore; Till, with the vision glorious, Her longing eyes are blest, And the great church victorious Shall be the church at rest. Yet she on earth hath union With God the Three in One, And mystic sweet communion With those whose rest is won. O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we Like them, the meek and lowly, On high may dwell with thee.

      @@iaintoms7071 That is not the only verse of this hymn that has been deleted in modern times: The Church shall never parish, her dear Lord to defend. To guide, sustain and cherish, He's with her to the end. Though there be those who hate her, and false sons in her pale, against all foes and traitors she ever shall prevail.

      @@ericlefevre7741 I cant sing, so I ponder on the words. Yes that other great verse is still there, but I believe that the Church has to be “born again/ from above”. Different factions in different traditions seem to be publically tearing out each others eyes and ears . Inexorably, numbers attending mainline churches are declining by about 3 per cent per year. In John’s Gospel, we are called to unity and to pray for it. The Church is no longer governable. People aren’t daft - they know that the Earth is round, and within a radius of 20 billion light years, there is no physical heaven or hell, or even an alternative Universe.

    This is a variation from a portion of Holst's "The Planets", specifically 'Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity'. You might not know this if you're not a fan of classical music. Hey... if you're the composer of one of the greatest musical works of the 20th Century, I suppose it's Ok to plagiarize your own music. Bottom line is that it's lovely. These folks at CCB do amazing recordings and I adore them. ❤❤
