Just discovered this channel 🥲 fantastic. I'm blind and this snaps

How much
15:25
I came from the future to ask a question. Jokes aside, does this tutorial still work as of October 2023? I'm using Twine 2.7.1
thank you! Very useful guide and your voice is calming
this didnt work for me idk why
8:29 you just blew my mind with that small gesture. all this time i could've been dragging images to a search bar left and right? and no one told me?? i am learning coding languages from *scratch* _AND_ digital literacy??!! my gratitude is immeasurable. as someone who is learning these things through a language barrier, i commend you for a nice pace that is easy to follow and the clarity, visibility of the material. thank you 🥺🙏
"i wonder if this file interconnectedness in browser and in notes can be used across devices..." - me, not realizing that i am reinventing the idea of the wheels that were under me my whole life
Thank you for that information I’m trying to make a game people can play offline, so the best way is to learn about relative paths? Thanks
Wow I can't believe Twine online uses browser history to store your work. Very unreliable!
My story format didn’t change
Well how can I see the images as I am making the game? I could see them after publishing, but publishing each time and overwriting seems very inefficient to say adjust an just image size a few times.
Your music is on your personal files?
I made all that you said, but it don't works! The most recent format I follow is "SugarCube 2.36.1" The name of my audio is "Rainbow". I got it on RUclips Studio, with the name of "Rainbow Forest". So, in te first passage, I tip: [[link]] <<cacheaudio "bgm_space" "Cinderella_Legends/Rainbow.mp3">> And on the second passage I tip: <<audio bgm_space play>> Lorem Ipsum. I used the name "bgm space" because I copy from the oficial tutorial.
You are insane dude! thank you very much for your help!
Thanks Adam!
As someone who considers themselves nearly an expert on HTML & CSS but only mediocre with js. Your videos were super helpful, thanks :)
thank you so much! I'm from Brazil and I'm trying to make a game, but first I thought I should understand the basics, and you're explaining so much better than the other videos I've watched! It was very helpful, thank you!! <3
É nóis cara, pode tá ruim agora, mas daqui a pouco, já já, vamo tá liderando a parada toda
best css teacher ever
Lol so far I kept writing the same thing over and over on every page..
What are the commands for harlowe?
Your video is the best way to revise html and css. I learned it at school but never really used it in life. Thanks to your twine + css video course I made my first text-based quest for game jam. Thank you so much!
thank you so much!
does this work with gifs?
good video! i can tell how much you care about the topic :)
thanks so much for this video i was finally able to add images to twine :)
such a great video, everything made sense and your explanations are really good and very easy to understand and put into practice
I'm on the way through your HTML and CSS course to Twine course! I enjoy your style.
Hi I have a question. when I try to open my code on browser, it shows up as code on the browser, and does not interpret it. I read online that it maybe something with how I saved my sublime document. It shows that it is saved as index.html.txt I don't know how to make it work. can you help?
The file should be saved as index. html, not index.html.txt cuz it counts as txt file in this case. So deleting the .txt extension will solve the problem. Hope it helps :D
thank you
Hi Adam, Thanks for making this video. It has been very helpful. I am a newbie in coding. I have no problem playing the twine game I have created with image and audio when I played it on the MacBook that I have stored the image and audio files. But if I play the game in another computer or via my phone, the images and audio do not surface. I will get the alt text for the images and no audio at all. How do I rectify that? Happy New Year. THANKS.
Hi Colin. To make it play correctly for others, you need to get the .html and all associated media files up together somewhere on the web. There are quite a few options, paid or unpaid. Google "free web hosting" to see some free options.
@@adamhammond749 thanks for the prompt reply ... I will check them.
Finally have it posted ... I host the files on OD and shared via DrivetoWeb ... the loading is slow especially for the audio and video files ... but it will suffice for the beta testing phase ... think I will eventually host it on Itch or Text Adventures ... Thanks again for creating the Twine tutorials.
@@colinjustinwan Awesome! I do think Itch is the way to go -- easy to upload whole folders with media files, fast, easy to receive donations... seems like the current easiest go-to for Twine hosting.
@10:00 outdated info, harlow has been heavily updated and is the default for twine 2.x... this vid is therefore outdated
no dark mode really puts a strain on my eyes... and "click" doesn't mean anything, is it RMB or LMB click? (spoiler: in the beginning at least, w/ click the CC means via RMB to open context menues)
Ouch, my eyes... there was no dark mode in 2018?
😞 P r o m o S M.
Doesn't like black background? Blasphemy!
Very well explained. Thanks!
bless you and this video!! i was about to give up on my project but you were able to explain everything so thank you so much😭
Watching your course on your website and I am really liking the backstory of computer science, it is an interesting part of history that is pivotal for human history in general.
Super cool, thank you!! 🤩🤩
Super useful, thank you!! 🤩🤩👍🙏
Awesome guide for beginning :) What if we want to modify UI only for one passage ? (as explained here #ui-bar applies to every passages)
Oh I got it ! We just need to create an other tag, let's call it "hideUI" or whatever, and specify the code. Now each time the tag is added to a passage, it hides UI. God... I've just started playing around Twine and I'm already in love. It took me a couple of hours to replicate what took me days with Godot, and I can still do all Renpy was giving me trouble with. For visual novels Twine's interface is so much more adapted and clear, and when it comes to coding it's so much more versatile than being stuck with Python. It's absolutely perfect !!!
You may not see this ever, but your videos have helped me more than my actual professor and class did. Thank you. I feel a tiny bit more confident with Sugarcube now.
Thanks, Sana!!
Doesn't work properly on the latest version (2.32.1). It does work on the older version posted (1.0.35)
There actually is 'handholding' for css classes. The @@.my-class;Content@@ syntax generate (in SugarCube) <span class="my-class">Content</span>
Hey wow thank you so far. The Textbox thing realy helped. How can I make it possible (with sugarcube 2.31.1) that after entering the name into the textbox and pressing Enter it will lead him to a specific path? Thanks for any help
i know this is super late (but if any1 needs help it is here now) <<textbox "$name" "" "here">> first 2 bits is self explanatory if u watched the earlier vids, first quotation marks would be watever is defaulted in the text box. the second quotation with here in it would indicate what passage it goes to, in this case it would go to the passage named here
@@lolidemon3163 super late haha...well thank you<3
when it comes to the audio part, it keep telling me "Harlowe macros use a different syntax to Twine 1, SugarCube, and Yarn macros." why is that? mine does not work as yours
go into change format and change it to sugarcube 2.1
but if i do that everything that i worked will be erased? i mean all the passages imgs connections etc@@nathantriestoanimate2978
Очень очень очень палезно
Tommy dislike was not good. that too specific. rest is gold.
