Hang gliding incident ATOS Spoiler wire dropout prevention measures
Spoiler control wire
From the quick pin on the base bar
To fall out
That there are already many cases
I knew from my fellow pilots,
No way, what happens to me
I couldn't believe it
But,
How did you deal with it already?
With information talk from fellow pilots
Because it was as background knowledge
I was able to deal with this trouble without rushing
Exactly thanks to prior knowledge
I was lucky
Just being lucky
Can't get through
The chat knowledge of fellow pilots
A source of responsiveness and a treasure
It happened suddenly
This is that, quick pin
To prevent it from coming off
Carefully stop cap
Also attach a pre-flight check
After confidently and completely
It happened without a hitch
For reference, from take...

May I ask a potentially stupid question, but why is such a highly safety relevant part made this flimsy? That's a tiny dinky hook that's apparently the only part that controls roll and thus keeps it stable. Seems severely underengineered to me.

Seems like a simple yet thorough pre-flight check would've prevented that -- but a fantastic recovery -- clearly a very competent pilot

Bravo. I don't understand if you forget the lateral cale or it's arrived on flying but your management is legendary. Very big incident and beautiful save. I imagined the parachute but you landed successfully. The camera was placed on a very good place too. happy for you. Felicitations.

Nice save with seemingly no panic. It shows to know your equipment and pay more attention to it than the GoPro. Nice work

Us young prefer safe flights, not these dangerous ones. Just take an Trip to the helicopter, or plane, or put the VR glasses and fly through the drone

You just know that when this Person got all unhooked once on the ground that they had a massive adrenaline crash- shaky and not thinking quite right. I've had my share of close calls in different situations. I'll bet within the next Hour or two they were taking a nap. Every time I've had a massive adrenaline rush like this I've always needed a nap afterwards.

This guy is extremely smart. Instead of taking in the fact he may die, my man started problem solving mid air. And God took care of the rest of his glide down. I feel like I would’ve cut those lines and just ended it. So much respect for this guy

You're joking, of course. Respect goes to the pilot who thoroughly checks his equipment pre-flight. Not the one who scrambles to rectify what he could've fixed before it became a life-threatening emergency.

That could have been much worse. Didn't panic, though. In aviation (n many other things), check and recheck 1st! 😊

If for whatever reason you find yourself in a crazy situation like this remember two things: Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast And Stop, observe, and ask yourself (what is the next best thing I can do *RIGHT NOW*) I capsized in a kayak near gators, saved my son who was choking (and seizing), and preformed an emergency birth of my daughter with no training… first three that come to mind. This method seriously works and you can actually see this guy doing very similar stuff if you pay attention! Bravo to him!!!! 🍻

that was terrifying. as a pilot but TOTALLY ignorant of hang-gliding and pretty weak on engineering too, i want to say WHY IS THERE NO BACK-UP on those control cables ANYWAY!?!?! (P.s. I see that it wasn't secured but that's not my point...What if it broke?...Why isn't there two cables for each side incase one breaks?) The problem-solver in me see's other ISSUES too! Like why was it so hard (maybe impossible) to re-attach?!!?! There should be clasps or something for exactly this situation! Also, why isn't there a back-up way of reaching them EASILY! So many bad design-issues! Are they all like this?!
