Solved! Thank you so much. I had the error 800233EF on PS3 every time I tried to update GTA 5. It would always quit immediately and throw that code at me. Incredibly frustrating. Thank you so much for posting this! (Also, I was using an ethernet cable so I can confirm this works with that connection method as well.)

just incase anyone reads this and needs the help i kept getting the error 80710723 when trying to update destiny so i unplugged the ethernet and used my mobile hotspot the game updated fine with no error after the update i went back to wired connection so far no problems i would recommend if you get this error just try a different connection really quick

This worked for my PS3. It hadn’t been plugged in for about 4 years and was having issues updating to 4.84. I set the DNS servers and manually set the MTU based on the settings in the video and my update was able to progress past 3% without failing.

Did the dns make the connection more faster cuz i was having alot of problems updating gta 5 to 1.27 and i dont want to make my connection bad tell me please tell me the truth do you think that this is +80% success or i can get issues that costs me loosing the game Cuz in my country We have a category called ps3 patched Its a ps3 that you can play on online And i can play bo2 and ff18 and battlefield 4 online And in this ps3 we dont use discs We download the game from a ps3 to another ps3 its like sharing and it works the same as a disc Its the original game and i play with my friends bo2 in it But when i first got the ps3 i made an account then i get to update gta to 1.27 to play online And it took me 3 hours then it sed error80710723 i think I didnt read it all cuz i nearly cried then my gta 5 screen freezed and the music turned off And from that momment i couldent play gta 5 again After 1 year i got to the same store that i got the ps3 from and he sed he will reinstall all the games again and it worked allmy other games are online but gta is still requesting the 1.27 update i can play story mode but not online i tried updating 1 month ago and it stayed for 1 hour then the error popped from the screen Please help me pls And again my ps3 is not jailbroken or multiman in it its justa a ps3 but the games are there without discs i hope you help me im a big gaming fan i want to ply
