2002 Toyota Sequoia clock spring bad, NOT!
2002 Toyota Sequoia.Thought my clock spring was bad but found out the problem was on the ground side but acted like a bad clock spring. Don't let this happen to you. If you have this horn issue along with an air bag light then the clock spring is a pretty good bet but if it's just the horn, you had better check it first to confirm it. It could still be the clock spring with just the horn issue but not always.

Sorry I keep calling the follower an ejector, I was tired. I'm having problems with the last round of hollow points jamming in my Glock 19 Gen 3. In this video I show the different followers available to hopefully fix this.

Just got it back from Glock where they changed the dipped extractor for a non-dipped to fix erratic ejection. Shooting WWB ammo 115 gr. Still has the stock 336 ejector.This shows good ejection but it's not 100% but much better. Ejectected erratically off camera and then when I go film it this happens. I'll upload more later. 2003 Tacoma with same steering wheel. Horn blows erratic. Think it could be a bad clockspring?

    Just wanted to thank you for posting this video. I spent $15.47 for the cleaner and lubricant and followed the process you outlined. Worked perfectly!!! Thank you again; this saved me a lot of money.

    I removed the clock spring and tested the ground of the horn to the steering shaft. The horn worked at that spot of the bearing against the shaft, so I thought the clock spring had to be bad. I ordered an aftermarket spring and installed it. Glad I did not spend the money on a Toyota one. The same horn issue happened. I then took all back off + the signals and wiper controls. I got a lot of the rust off the bearing with steel wool, vacuumed it, cleaned the bearing with electronic parts spray, let dry and then repacked the bearings with dielectric grease. The horn now works great. I would have fixed it a long time ago if I knew it was so easy. If you are testing the bearing, temporarily put the steering wheel on turn to test in several places to make sure the bearing ground is not truly the issue before replacing the spring. Thanks for the info and video!

    I want to say thank you so much. This worked exactly how you described. I used the spray and lithium grease as stated and it worked like a charm. 4 years after your post and its still helping Tundra owners. Great video!!!

    Not enough angle on follower, making the edge of the hollowed point catch on the barrel ramp. Try the magpuls pmag they have a rocked back angle on the follower and protrudes a bit more. They catch the slide better for end cycle too.

    Very helpful. Where did you connect your multi meter to vehicle ground - the black probe?

    Common problem with the old oem gen 3/4 ten rounders, they sit lower in the magwell.. I'm surprised glock never did anything about them. I believe they fixed it with the gen5 orange follower version. Usually I'd say use oem glock mags, but in this case you would get better reliability out of magpul or ets 10 round mags. You can always buy pinned 10/15 round oem mags.

    I had the same exact problem. This seems to be the fix. I followed your steps and the bearings were rusted. I cleaned the bearing as you did in the video and then packed it with dielectric grease. Wow!!! The horn is now working!!! Thank you for posting this video.

    I had bought a new clock spring but watched this first so I cleaned out the bearing and re greased it. Put everything back together and now horn wont stop. I'll pull it apart. I must have pinched a wire. I went back this morning. Turns out I connected the wire directly to ground on the side instead of the correct tab on the bottom. Moved it t the correct tab and everything is good. 170,000 miles????? Man it isn't even broken in. Only 248000 on mine.

    I tried your fix and changed the clock spring. No air bag light. Horn fuse ok. Not sure what else to check. Any ideas for what to check next?

      Did you clean all the rust from the bearings with Deoxit and then pack the bearings with dielectric grease?

  • @alansupra94
    @alansupra94 4 года назад

    Can 100% confirm, this guy was right. Cleaned the bearings out, packed new dielectric grease and horn works fantastic now. No new clock spring needed. You need a Philips screwdriver, LONG extended T30 and a 19mm socket. I used regular contact cleaner since I couldn't find deoxit locally

      Same issue…how do I proceed after removing the clock spring to get to the bearings? I am afraid to start pulling and disconnecting stuff

  • @RobMob
    @RobMob 5 лет назад

    I know this is a old video but I was having the same issue until I changed my follower to a gen5 Orange follower. It’s designed a little different with the raised base ledge of the follower extending the full length on the follower. Where the gen3 follower base has a ledge that only extends about 75% of the length and the drops. The drop would be near the tip of the bullet and allows the nose of the round to dip and ham on the feed ramp
