Which filters do you install first? The new one say stage one and stage two dual filters along with the reverse osmosis filter?

Someone answered you … well asked you a question anyway. You could just call whirlpool and ask them to look up the serial. The WHES series has literally been in production for like 19 years so unless there’s a serial decoder formula out there you’re going to have to ask them.
How old is my whirlpool softener: WHES20, SERIAL 1131, CODE 04087, PATENT 7262865.

This Water Softener is killing me. Always salty water coming out. I try to fix it but not work. Even I called the Whirlpool technical team, they said all bully answers.I think Whirlpool stop manufacturing water softener. If anyone planing to buy water softener please don't even look at this product.
If I unplugged it by accident do I need to reset and set it up again? Or will it automatically work
After adding the 3 gallons of water, can a manual regeneration be done? I ask because I did just that and the brine tank filled with water during the fill stage. I let the regeneration complete. The brine pulled from the tank and the water level did drop but there is water still above the salt level. Wondering if I forgot to do something. Should I have skipped the fill stage and skipped to the brine stage?
My softener, WHES44 , makes soft water but the scale seems like it still builds up. It's been about 9 months now and I thought it would start to clean up or get rid of lime-like scaling by now. Is it defective? thanks

The light came on at the fountain to change the filter, but we can't remove the filter, what can we do? when to remove the filters can you help

Hi Whirlpool Water Treatment: I installed mine without using the bypass valves, is that going to be a problem?

I am not an expert, so I can’t guarantee anything for you but theoretically it is not a problem if you have a bypass somewhere else in your water supply before the softener . The point of the bypass is so that if there are any issues with the water softener, you can just turn on bypass mode and then the rest of the house go on using the water supply even though it will not be soft. My house has a bypass that is separate from this because the original owner wanted to have a water filtration system and I’m guessing he didn’t want to have to have two bypasses. Having no bypass at all is going to be trouble for you if you ever need to replace your water softener or work on it. You will need to shut off the water supply in two places and then expect potentially a considerably larger amount of water that will come out when you disconnect the water softener from the pipes.
Where can I find a replacement cold water fitting as shown 0:57 into the installation?
Can you still install this if your sink doesn't have the hole from the dishsoap dispenser?

What happens if my entire house is plumbed with 1/2"? The manual says use minimum 3/4"
Ask a plumber. Are you measuring that pipe right? I have never heard of a supply line that is only half inch. How do you get any flow into your house? I may be totally wrong here because Ibam just a regular home owner, but I think you’re trying to put the water softener on a branch somewhere. Get a plumber to find your real supply line and redo the branch if needed so that you can put the softener in properly.
Anyone got a part # for the water supply fitting (looks like 3/8" to 1/4" tee?)?
How do you add 3 gallons of water to the tank?
Using any container, like a bucket.
They forgot to mention: Use syringe to squirt some bleach into the yellow tube to sanitize system prior to 1st use. Then pressurize and purge system.
What number should it be set to for softness level
It should be set according to the hardness of your water. You can get that number from your water provider.
Installed in about 30 minutes. No issues I even routed the water to my refrigerator for the ice maker
Can I ask how you did both? I would like to do this too and am trying to figure out how to route it so it involves the icemaker too.
Chris Smith so i set it up like normal, but on the 3/8 in blue line I snipped it and put a 3/8 in. 3 way polypropylene push-to-connect, so that It still has flow to the faucet. The other one I send it towards the fridge but the fridge line is a 1/4 inch. So, I got maybe 6inches of 3/8 inch line cut that in half put a 3/8 inch polypropylene valve (to control the flow that way it doesn’t overwhelm the 1/4 inch line) so now we have the (cut) 6 in 3/8 connected with the valve. One of those will go to the 3way tee (with the blue line to the faucet) and the other will go to a 3/8 to 1/4 in polypropylene reducer fitting. The 1/4 in line will be the line that heads to your ice maker.

So I just saw something online about how to “program” it. - 10 “ easy” steps. 10 long, long, ridiculously complicated steps. And 10? Why stop there. How about adding 46 more. (I especially loved the one where you have to press the button 5 times. 5 times. Who engineered this thing? Someone from the Big Bang Theory?)

I’ve had one for four years. Have no idea if it’s working. The “control” stuff on the left - don’t understand any of it. Program - program what? Schedule - schedule what? Start - start what? What’s it supposed to do, take off? And that little screen, can’t even read it. It does need salt from Time to time, which I buy and put in, along with that cleaner a few times a year, but still don’t know if it’s working or not.
if you feel gross during showering, it means the softener is working :). I recently moved into a house with this model and searched the instruction manual online. After reading it a couple times, I was still lost as to what on earth I was supposed to be doing.

Yes. In addition to water being filtered, water is also continuously "flushing" the RO membrane, traveling up the red tube to the air gap, then through the black tube to the drain.

I installed mine using those Sharkbite flexible adapters and it really reduced the water flow in our house. I finally found the proper FPT to PEX adapter so I can just run straight PEX. Save your $ and just invest in the PEX tools.

I install mine about a month ago , everything works fine but now the light on the faucet is blinking . Is that normal I thought the filters last about 6 months ..
Hi Greg! The faucet has a battery operated timer. The LED light will flash continuously after 6 months has passed, indicating that it's time to replace the battery, prefilter and postfilter. If the LED light on the faucet is repeatedly flashes two times (with a small pause in between), the battery is faulty and needs to be replaced. We use coin batteries CR2032's in our faucets, which can be picked up anywhere that sells batteries. Once the battery is replaced, the LED light will flash six times and turn off, indicating the battery is fully charged. Hi my name is Siri and my no really want to see you guys so can you tell me when you can I have the three me injuries
My drain adapter is more like a cradle and the manual instructs me to drill a 3/8” whole into the pipe but 1) that’s contradicts what the outside box instructions says and 2) the 3/8” whole is clearly larger than the red tube which could cause leaking. How can i get the drain adapter doesn’t require any drilling like the one illustrated in this video?
The drain saddle requires a 3/8" hole to be drilled into the drain pipe. The 3/8" black drain tube would then connect to the drain saddle. The old style drain adapter (#7208489) is still available for purchase at www.whirlpoolwatersolutions.com/replacement-parts or by calling 866-986-3223.
What are the symptoms if the brine tank stops working
The most obvious symptom would be evidence of hard water in the home. You can call 966-986-3223 for troubleshooting assistance, if you feel there may be a problem.
Salt is collecting around he discharge hose and salt in the tank is solid (hard), could water lines be hooked up incorrectly?theres no water in the tank just hard solid salt
Model WHES33 is considered a "dry-tank" system. During normal operation there should only be 2-4" of water at the very base of the salt tank. If the salt in the tank is bound together (we call this a salt bridge/block), it will need to be eliminated and replaced with loose salt. You can dissolve the hard salt from the bottom up by adding 1 gallon of warm water to the brine well, waiting 1 hour, then recharging the system. Repeat this process as many days in a row as needed, until the hard salt is dissolved. If you have any additional questions, feel free to give us a call at 866-986-3223.
