Key Fob Key Stuck in Ignition Port: How to Remove

In this video you will see the removal of a key from a key fob that is stuck in the key fobs dash port or slot. You will only need 1 tool for the removal process... A flat head screw driver. ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE CAR BATTERY BEFORE WORKING WITH ELECTRICAL WIRING OR AROUND IT. I DIDNT IN THIS VIDEO BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON CARS FOR YEARS AND KNOW MY LIMITS. DONT DO ME.

No idea, but I hope that person got out safely. I saw that at a gas station after work that night. Thank you for watching. Seen autoracks derailment Altoona Pennsylvania. Cleanup they were scooping up brand new F150’s with a front end loader and dumping in a dumpster. Some looked brand new .
When people spray graffiti on these rail cars, does it ever get on the autos inside?
I didn’t come across any that got the paint on them. If so, it would only be noticed by the detailers at their final location. A lot of the vehicles often had some kind of hardened coat on them also. It was usually on the hood of the car though…

im on training for this, kinda feeling like its not for me but im gonna hold through!!! Because its just part of the process, like doing the plates im so short... it's stressful.
Yeah those plates are pretty high. And the 54s or 56s definitely have some weight to them. I can’t remember what the number was but throwing plates definitely wakes you up lol.

@@Entre1099 I did finally get called from CN :D so I will start there in a couple weeks as a temporary driving the cars like here but not plates lol also gonna see if i should become an engineer because i was going to school in the meantime but im in my 30s

Definitely wasn’t. But as employee, I was loving it. Not every minute of it, but I got OT for extra purchases I needed to make, and I got paid to workout all day lol. Now I own a business and can’t believe I accepted being paid that amount for legit labor.

The same thing happened to me. The AAA guy was able to get the fob out of the port. But now whenever I exit the car and shut the door the key port light flashes on the dash as if the key is still in there. It eventually goes out but I'm concerned, could it be draining the battery?
Sorry for the late reply, does it beep fast and can be heard clearly with the door shut?

Went to pick my car up after it had been at the repairers shop for 4 months (not at fault accident), both key fobs weren’t working so this is what I did. The repairer couldn’t get it out so has been left with them yet again, spent the entire afternoon crying because they told me to replace this part it would be very expensive and could take a while to get the part. (We just waited 4 months for a washer jet….) I’m going in first thing in the morning to try this, I’ll leave an update tomorrow!

I honestly can’t remember. But we did get many opportunities to chat with the spotters for the train. Maybe they can hook you up with a position. I think you have to go away for like 6mo of nicely paid training though…

This was in West Columbia SC. They shut down that facility though. I think we were some of the last ones to work there. They literally couldn’t keep people working there lol

For video purposes lol. Nah probably because the Manager was on site. When he left we had them cars at least 15-20mph through those rails lol. I think I have a shot or 2 of it in the video recording from underneath as they flew by
@@Entre1099 makes sense. Used to for 12 years at Lansing LDT Terminal. It wasn't uncommon to see everyone doing 20-30, sometimes faster thru the trains. By far, the most fun I've had at a job. Also the most annoyances.
Damn nice. I only worked there for about 10 months until it got slow. Probably the best job I ever had. I still hear the plates dropping and cars flying through the rails to this day. I fid this job after coming off the road for truck driving and now I feel like I can drive anything through anything lol.

Lol it was a lot of people who couldn’t drive them. Those who can drive manuals just take over unloading until an automatic transmission pops up. Then we can all unload the vehicles as normal

Finally found you. Yes I am a she just like her and did the same thing 😂 My car s battery was dead In jumping the battery the engine would not do a complete turn over. So I was trying different things, Including sticking the key in the key port when it is supposed to be the Fob that goes in there. Then I found you and u know what? When I was messing with the key port I felt inside the port inbetween the key and what ever inside was holding it. I felt something that could be pushed down so today I was going to take a flathead and pry and pull. Back n the day I used to do something similar to this in getting jammed CD s out of players or Walkman’s. 😂 Thanks for validating my solution 😊

Way late to the party but that was a cool video. Another job thats never thought of but so vital for how this country runs every day. I live near the Jeep plant in Toledo, Ohio and they park their vehicles the same way in the yard. Driver's side tires ON the yellow line. Why is this? To ensure the vehicles are spaced well? Thanks for the video!
Thank you for watching. If I remember correctly, the tires are on the line to ensure the driver can exit the vehicle without banging up or door dinging the vehicle to the left. To be honest, parking on the line was one of the hardest things to get used to doing.
That makes sense. I can see how that’d be so hard to get used to haha. Did you ever catch yourself parking on the yellow line out of habit outside of work?

I’m honestly not sure if you can just get the port without the surrounding pieces. But, you don’t actually need to put the key fob inside the port to use the car so I wouldn’t worry about it too much for now
@@Entre1099 i was asking because it’s broken and now my key needs to be reprogrammed a new one was programmed but it’s now not working locksmith he couldn’t and that was the reason
Ahh ok. Idk how to solve that issue but a google search might help you out on understanding why the new programmed key won’t work. If not then try contacting the manufacturer or dealer and see if they can help fix it

I’m 21 years old, skinny, but tough. I recently applied at Inter Rail near my house. Start pay is $17 an hour. I am currently at Tractor Supply. Dealing with customers isn’t for me. Especially $12.50 an hour dealing with them alongside moving heavy farm equipment around. I don’t mind working in heat, cold, rain, or snow. I do realize people my age aren’t willing to work anymore. I do realize there is a high turnover rate for the Inter Rail near my house. It’s nothing at all with the people or managers, but rather the work itself. I don’t mind working hard, and I don’t mind taking a risk in doing this job, because, I need money, and I’m trying to save for a better vehicle than what I have. Thanks for this video Entre 💯
Man I apologize for the late reply. You’re absolutely correct. Not many ppl want to “work hard” nowadays. But can you blame them? Lol everyone is built different. Physically and mentally. Over time I learned that I myself am built to work hard. I learn to love shit that I hate. Makes the process easier plus secures your position. Also, turnover rate doesn’t mean anything when it comes to a worker. A worker will more than likely excel at the work, which means you won’t be included in the turnover rate. Except when you move on to the next career. With the work ethic you have, consider starting a business bro…
