@@RockyLikes no, after you focus during install, you’ll focus it from 3 feet to infinity , and never have to touch it again. great at all distances short-long, but not ultra close…you couldn’t read a map with it or see really really close.

@@A101stNCO it is a scottie vest jacket with removable sleeves that they discontinued. called the enforcer vest. they have a new edc jacket without removable sleeves. i’m not sure if it is exactly the same pockets as the enforcer. The Napoleon pockets, the large front pockets that are big enough for a laptop. are also big enough for a 10 x 12 soft armor insert. I will take a single level 3a 10 x 12 soft armor panel, and split the 30 layers into 15 each, and get two panels that are level 2a that are much thinner and much more invisible to the public. But it will still stop 9 mm full metal jacket.

@@A101stNCO the body armor levels, are over engineered by 2X anyway. a lot like aerospace industry that may have twice or even triple strength required. armor testing requires soaking in water for an hour, to weaken the armor by 50% and then test it. so out of the gate, armor at half the thickness, will still stop the rated rounds, assuming it hasn’t been underwater for an hour

@@A101stNCO the back actually has a large pocket also, but added armor to the rear makes public use impossible. meaning you never put it in the backseat in the first place. you never put it on when you heard the car back fire only to realize minutes later that was the was just the first shot of 50 shots to come behind it. even perfectly concealed armor is divulged as you get patted on back several times day and don’t realize it. if you can’t wear it in public, you simply will NOT have it. definelty get better armor that you could wear in an emergency and throw it on the AR in the trunk. odds are hard armor and an AR will be useless…but at least the hard armor can be visually concealed

@@kevenpiquette911 the eye box on the 10 and 30 is small. 10 times harder to align to eye when using a dual tube bino. i try to talk people out of binos with the 10/30’s but it’s impossible. one tube with wide fov is usually a better solution.

@@kevenpiquette911 yes. it’s a crystal clear image. you can see some video of the nvg-10. the 30 uses the same lens as the 10.

@@macmac9371 no. the 10 is for the 10. the nvg-30 1x is for the 30. i don’t have the iR flip cap finished for the 30 yet

@@KyzoFox on the 30 that collar is threaded on to the factory lens. and even without the 3 micro screws holding it on…it is TOUGH to unscrew..but in all cases, you still just use wrench to unscrew the module to install my new lens and lens adapters. then screw back into the nvg body.

@@OzzieOz74 eventually i will, but it’s the same FOV as my nvg-10 video. it’s more sensitive to low light as the 10 and higher resolution video, BUT neither performance increase will transmit to a video much better than the nvg-10 video i have made

i guess some call this fish-eye effect along the edges. yes. my wide lens removes this.

@@mag-brace9378 I use night vision for stargazing and the NVG30 lens distorts the stars quite a lot, unlike the NVG10.

@@mag-brace9378 Would be nice to see some footage (including stars) with this lens adapter so I know what to expect.

@@starsandnightvision you probably won’t see the stars! it’s not a light amplification device. when wide FOV is installed, sensitivity also is reduced. seeing 5x more view needs 5x more iR…or range is reduced 5x. it’s turns the 30 from a good medium scope that can see pretty far, to an amazingly good short range scope that can see medium with a focused iR.
