I CAN SEE THE MOON
Hello everyone! I pray you all have a very cool new year going on!!! SO… here is the 4th recording from the dusty old attic tapes! AND, it is the last one about our daughter (who became our Guardian Angel many years ago)… Listening to it again, I realized how emotional I was… You can hear me gasp my breath after the first line, as I suddenly realized I had subconsciously written a song about Linda! What a wonderful "attic" discovery!!! This is an emotionally RAW recording in the truest sense. It expresses my deepest, most tender feelings in a pure, innocent way… I hope you all enjoy this trip into the realm of the most beautiful things in life!

Tell Me Again (song about Linda...)
Просмотров 472 месяца назад
Hello again my dear friends and fans! As promised, I am sharing this deeply personal moment in my life... This is the second piece of music I recorded with our daughter's little Casio keyboard. (Thank goodness for the record feature it had!) THIS recording was a few weeks later, as the reality of our loss was sinking in... I just sat at her Casio very late one sleepless night, and just played a...
Linda's Casio (A short instrumental piece for our daughter...)
Просмотров 2032 месяца назад
Shortly after our 12 year old daughter, Linda, went to heaven (1991), I picked up her little Casio keyboard, with the miniature keys, and as I imagined her playing it, this simple, wonderful little tune came to me. Luckily Casio had a "record" function, and I had pressed that button. This was lost to time, until I discovered it a few years ago, and placed it in my music files, to listen now and...

And thus begins another chapter of my musical journey!! This recording is the last of my iPhone series of recordings (using only my iPhone). NOW begins full production work on all of my original songs... Yay!! Ciao Yawl!!!!!!!!!!!
Medley carries all away at LCFA show!
Просмотров 1767 месяцев назад
I recently created this Medley of some of my favorite songs growing up. The audience response was so powerful, that I am surely going to do more Medleys! This one includes SIX of my favorite artists: Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Moody Blues, Jim Morison, The Beatles, and a SURPRISE jazzed up movie score at the end!!! This is my first public performance of the piece, at the League City Folk Associa...

After 46 wonderful years with my wife Terri, I finally managed to write her a love song worthy of the magic she has given me in my life. This is my FIRST time performing it in front of an audience (at the famous Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe' in Galveston!). It was also the first time Terri heard the song! She caught a nice video of it on her iPhone! (Ain't she sweeeeet!)
YESTERDAY (LIVE with Madeline Herdeman)
Просмотров 333Год назад
This is the classic Beatles song YESTERDAY, with a new twist! We jazz it up a bit, with my interpretation of this wonderful classic! Madeline Herdeman adds her improvisations as well. This was our first time to play together on a stage. We only had ONE rehearsal prior to this! (And I absolutely LOVED what she did with this!!) The audience did too, as you will hear! It was another wonderful even...

Waiting Around To Die (Townes Van Zandt)
Просмотров 873 года назад
This is one of the Townes Van Zandt songs I have been working up for the TVZ Wake, to be held in a few days, (January 1, 2022), at THE OLD QUARTER ACCOUSTIC CAFE' in Galveston. Waiting Around To Die is still a work in progress, but this recording I made during a rehearsal last night, just had the right "feel" for me. So I thought I would share it with my fellow Townes fans! Like most of us who ...
THE SOLDIER
Просмотров 2683 года назад
This is my signature piece at my live shows, and my most important work! This was a gift from heaven. I share it with everyone as such... I wrote THE SOLDIER a few years ago, about a key figure in history that nobody writes about, nor talks about. One evening, he came to mind, and I realized his fate from birth, was to become a horrific tale. I imagined I was he, and I could not bear the dark p...
SILLY BOY (Mike Kiser and Voyager)
Просмотров 2533 года назад
This is a lament about losing someone you care about. Not due to death, but to circumstance. The subject of regret is at the core of this song. I wrote it a long time ago, yet it still rings so true, and literally bites at my soul when I hear it. Though I have tried all my life to learn from my mistakes, and to improve the effect my life has on others, I still can find myself on the wrong side ...
BEAUTIFUL WORDS ("Live" solo audio recording)
Просмотров 1893 года назад
When life seems too much to bear, I have at times wished and prayed that I could simply hear God's voice telling me He knows I am here, even being so bold as wanting to hear He is pleased with me. A few years ago, I was remembering when I was near death with Stage IV Cancer (2013), and wishing once again to hear His voice, and this song came to me out of nowhere. I suddenly realized the exact w...
WHEN YOU CALL ("Live" solo audio recording)
Просмотров 2023 года назад
This song expresses my deepest feelings about how the end of this life is actually the beginning of our heavenly journey with God, and all who have gone before us. Soon after writing it, and playing it for family first, I was asked by my my sister-in-law to sing it for her father who was dying. He had asked her to ask me if I would sing it to him in person. Through tears in my eyes and his, I g...
Linda's Song ("Live" solo audio recording)

This video is my love letter to my daughter, Linda, who went to heaven ahead of us on January 15, 1991, when she was twelve. The emotions were so raw for so long, It took over 20 years to finally be able to write this song. God blessed Terri and Me with this beautiful soul, and entrusted us with her short life, and for that I will be eternally grateful, for she is the heart and soul of my life,...

Awe inspiring. Thanks for sharing, my friend.
Heart rending. Thank you, my friend.
Wow Mike 👌
Thank you Sir Jimmy!!!
You really put the Kiser ethereal to this old classic and made it your own.
Thank you Mr Ron Rost! Always such an honor to hear your comments. Love the term ethereal!
Absolutely brilliant!! Best version of this song I’ve heard!
Thank you for the very kind comments my friend!

Thank you!
How wonderful, Mike!
Thank you Sir Tex!
Merry Christmas!
🎼Merrrrryyy Christmaaaas toooo yoooooo 🎶
Keep up the good work Mike.
Will do sir!!! News very soon!!!
Keep writing and singing those songs Mike.
You know how it is... We don't seem to have any choice in the matter. What a great gift THAT is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo My Friend - vocals clear as a Colorado spring. Congrats on finally getting this one out of you. She deserves one! ;)
Thank you Sir! Yes, I was long overdue writing this, but I feel this one so much, it was worth the wait!!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much my friend! This song takes me back to when Terri and I met. Back then I wrote her a heartfelt poem which I gave her with some flowers: Simple, but beautiful, The flowers as well as us, It is as it should be, Neither of us wants for much, The reasons, as the skies, Are often so very clear, We have in each other, The very best... You... And I... here. It set the "love" bar pretty high, as she still has that poem on top of our fridge! This song, after 46 years, perhaps finally approaches that bar...
Nice version !
Thank you! I get a very FEW who think I went too far changing it, but most people love it! Me too! I absolutely LOVE playing this arrangement!! Especially with Madeline on Cello! WOW!!!
Love it , love it Mike !!! My son David said “tell him I like it mom”. Thank you Mike !
I am so happy y'all liked it! It was a very special performance for me! Twas Fun! Fun! Fun!!! And tell your son I really appreciate his interest in my music. I LOVE it when I hear that YOUNG people are tuning in!!!! Take good care of yourselves you guys!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you my friend! I love that our first time together was at your event! The League City Folk Association is an incredible new "place to be" on the music scene!!!!!!!
Love it Mike and Madeline!! 👏🙌🙌
Thank you Theresa! Yes she is wonderful! We will be recording together soon, and also occasional performances as her schedule permits. I absolutely LOVE how much this expands the depth of my music! (And how I now get to hear what has been in my head for so long when I write my songs!) The sky's the limit in my view!
Outstanding, my friend! Madeline, I look forward to hearing more.
Thanks Sir Tex! We will be recording together soon, but there will also be live performances together as her schedule allows. Surely one day soon at The Old Quarter at your Song Writers Night!!!
Awesome Mike, love you!
Thank you Rachel! Thank you for the kind comment! I am finally back to healthy enough to get back into this 100%, and I am excited as I can be about it!!! I just signed a contract with a brilliant young concert celloist (35), and she is unbelievable! She will add that Beatles style element that I always hear in my music!! Really exciting! And she believes in my music enough that we are going for broke with this. Also have a young jazz bassist interested too. It's going to be FUN FUN FUN!!! I really miss you guys. I pray we get to visit before too long!!!!!!! Love y'all too!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good job! Thanks Mike !
I am so glad you enjoyed it! This is a new beginning for me, and I am very excited! We shall see where my music goes in the near future! Keep your eyes and ears open for me!!!!!!!!!! Ciao!
This is just one of my favorite Moody Blues songs!! Could you ever sing "Somewhere Out There" by Moody Blues? Great job Mike! I love your voice, I wish I had more of your songs. Do you have a CD with your songs? <3 Do you sing country music? I have a challenge for you. The song is "Ribbon of Darkness". Shelly and I sang it all the time when we were little girls, our dad Delbert taught us the song. "Ribbon of Darkness Over Me" by Marty Robbins. Others sang it but I listened to this version and I think it's the best. Any way, cuz, GREAT JOB, I love this song!!!
Thank you for the kind comments Cindy! I will check out "Somewhere Out There" and see if it fits my style! And YES, I do have three CDs. One is my old band (the one that got on the charts and the radio back in the 80s!), VOYAGER, Sound Barriers LP. Another is a collection of LIVE recordings of my performances around Houston. A third CD is a collection of audio cuts from my RUclips Videos. Send me your address and I will send them to you!!! Finally, YES, I do a bit of Country because nowadays, I am more of a Folk singer/songwriter, and I hang out with mostly Folk singers. I will also look at "Ribbon of Dardness" and see if I can work it up too!!! Great hearing from you cuz!!!!!!!!! Hope to see y'all someday soon!
I can’t find that song. Did you mean ‘I know you’re out there Somewhere?” (Or something like that)

@@cindyk.studio1960 I have always LOVED that song! I don't usually do their more recent stuff, but I do really like that album. SO.... I will work on that song and let you know the results!!!!!
Sounds great Mike!
Thank you Sir Hap!!! I am so glad you enjoyed it! Brings back memories doesn't it!??? I just LOVE this song so much! SURE DO MISS YOU GUYS!!!!!!!! i hope we cross paths again real soon!!!!!!! God bless you both always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved it Mike!!!!
Thank you so much Theresa!!! Yeah, when Deana forwarded this to me, it really got me going! I think I am mentally right back where I was when I was doing this in my thirties!!!!!!!!!! What a blast THAT was!! See y'all very soon!!!!!
Thanks for posting, Mike!
Hey Tex! Thank you for chiming in!!! I am especially glad you enjoyed this. My friend caught a little magic on film it seems, so I just had to share it! I knew this felt good when I played it that night, but even with a very scratchy recording, it comes across pretty well! See you soon my good friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That monolog was stellar!
Thank you so much EchoM...! I am especially proud of that aspect of this performance. I do recall how much I enjoyed your style when we heard you at The Old Quarter, and that makes me understand why YOU noticed the monolog most! It IS something so very special to me! (BTW, you are the only person to single that out, and I am right there with you.) It MAKES that song!!!!!!!!!! Keep on making great music my friend!!!!!!!!!! Ciao buddy...
Nice job.
Love it, Mike! Se y'all Saturday!
A sermon I once attended as a teen postulated that the soldier who pierced Christ's side was a humanitarian. They said some centurions did that for those being crucified out of mercy, hastening death and shortening their suffering. I can't remember who that preacher was, but they claimed it was a known practice.
Sounds like whoever that preacher was, he wasn't quite up to snuff on scripture. Actually it was two things. (Breaking the legs was the method of speeding up death because they could no longer raise up to breathe.) The soldiers were ordered to break the legs of all three, to hasten their deaths, which was ordered because evening was eminent, and the Romans needed the bodies down before nightfall because delay would defy Jewish tradition. They found Jesus was already dead, so they did not break His. Then the Soldier pierced his side to make sure he was dead. BOTH things were to fulfill Old Testament prophesies which say not one bone would be broken, and He would be pierced!
@@mikekiser8071 it was long ago, may well be I who has gotten things confused.
@@TexRenner LOL! Yes, at our age it's almost the way of things. ( Oh say it ain't so!) BUT... It is just as possible you recall correctly, because some preachers tend to preach to their intended message, more so than to the precise scriptures. (The end justifies the means) And I can't be critical of such. We ALL embellish stuff all the time, in our minds it's often to try to help someone understand something, or believe us about something. Same thing about preachers. They are only human, and have a VERY tough job!!! All due respect! (So let's call this one a "push"! Harrrrumpffff!!!)...
Wonderful Mike
Thank you so much! I am especially fond of this one myself!!!!
@@mikekiser8071 I really like it Mike !! Loan
@@quycung4799 Thank you Loan! It is very special to me! (So nice to hear from you too!!!!!)
This is a really good tune. Enjoyed it.
Thank you Ron! It's a real honor coming from a master song writer / instructor!!!
Hi this is Jazmine Hayward my dad used to work for you at flame seal his name was Joe Hayward and I love the song.
Thank you Jazmine! I really love your father. He is a very good man, a faith filled man, and I have the greatest respect for him! I pray the very best for you all. It is always especially flattering when younger folks enjoy my music! Thanks again!!!
I really like this one! Why this wasn’t a national hit, I don’t know!
Thank you so much for the kind comment! And yes, we came SO close to making big waves back then!!! Terri and I were negotiating with an exec (Hamilton Alexander) from Columbia Records who wanted Voyager to be the star band on a new label under Columbia Records, called Soft Records (Soft Rock). After many weeks negotiating every Thursday at Red Lobster (his fave!), we were about to sign and he stopped showing up! The band broke up (disbelief on the other guys' part), and years later I saw Mr. Alexander on Channel 8 saying he walked away from his job "that day!" Turns out his daughter died of sickle cell anemia during our negotiations with him! I told Terri "God must not have wanted me to make it in music!" Looking back, I think that might be so. I was a mess and might have ended up in a very bad place! He wanted me to wait until I started writing Christian music!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!! Now, He might let me gain that recognition by the public once again!! Hey, you never know!!!!
@@mikekiser8071 you never know. Interesting story!
So beautiful Mike. We thank God you're using your talent to bless others and our Lord and Savior!
Thank You Rachel! Indeed, I am SO thankful I am given more time (heart surgery looks like it will be successful in the end!), so I can continue to share my music with more and more good folks out there!!!!!!! Yay!
Mike, Rachel and I love both recordings! Beautiful scripture along with our beautiful cousin.
Thank you for the nice words Y'all! I do try to stay true to myself and write about spiritual subjects and ideas with at least half of my songs. Most of the rest do end up with a spiritual lesson behind the lyrics. The best basis for vocal music in my humble opinion!
That is beautiful, Mike. Knowing it was "a live solo performance" is very impressive! I look forward to hearing you do it in person.
Thank you Tex! YOU ARE TOO KIND!! (lol!) I will definitely play it at 3DD soon! I'm hoping I will be up to singing again real soon!!!!!!!!! I miss all of you fine folks (and great singers/songwriters!!)
Another nice effort. I like it!
Thank you Hap! Glad you like it! (Even though it can be viewed as a bit of a downer, it's saying how I feel about this... and that's what us songwriters do best!!!) As always, I'm very appreciative for your very kind words.
Another winner Mike Kiser. Beautiful. I'm sharing.
Thank you Sir Hap! I really appreciate your kind words! As I have said, THIS song is so very special for me, as everyone can see in my details / comments about the back story behind the song. We ALL owe our wonderful lives to the fallen ones who paved the path for us!!!
Beautiful song, oh the lyrics are awesome!!! God bless the songwriter... JR
Thank you so much for the compliment Joyce! God bless you right back!!!
