Summer 2024 is over, so it's time to get on the Speedy Beaver bus to Oregon with Dipper and Mabel Pines. This is going to be a great roller coaster ride for you.;) "Gravity Falls" and "Bob's Burgers" kids have solid sibling relationships. There’s a quote from the Perks of Being a Wallflower that I think applies to Jenny’s character: “sometimes we accept the love we think we deserve”. Her past is tragic and she doesn’t think she deserves any better than that. She cares for Forrest but doesn’t know how to accept the goodness in the world. She also didn’t want to drag Forrest into her messed up reality. Once she was ready to get past her trauma, she wasn’t afforded much time left with Forrest or her baby boy.

For so long the Bubba Gump restaurants didn’t have a deal to sell Dr Pepper in their establishments. That’s the *one* drink they absolutely should have. They’ve remedied that though. The last couple of times I visited I was finally able to order a Dr Pepper and I felt balanced again 😂

18:23 I always thought that Charlie stood for Cong, as in Viet Cong, I may have misheard you as "code"? Let me just repeat what others have written, it's SO great to watch someone who gets the historical references! I've seen reactors (from the US too) who didn't get the Watergate reference or didn't know who John Lennon was. I also appreciate your understanding of Jenny. The channel Cinema Therapy did a video on her just recently, it's worth watching. Anyway, I just glanced at your channel and I saw Firefly and a Ghibli movie, so I had to subscribe 🙂 I wish you all the best and many new subscribers! I have yet to delve into your channel further, but have you seen Jojo Rabbit? It's also a comedy that takes place during the Second World War, may be a good thing to react to.

Also the Godzilla franchise is broken up into different eras the showa era from 1954 gojira - 1975 terror of Mechagodzilla, this era is enjoyed by a lot of fans but it’s probably the most heavy criticized era due to how goofy some of the films get at times next comes the heisi era which most Godzilla fans including myself say it’s the best era the heisi era basically ignores all of the showa films except the 1954 film the first official heisi film is 1084 return of Godzilla and this era ends with 1995 Godzilla vs Destoroyah which is probably my favorite Godzilla film it’s so great Next is the millennium era it starts with Godzilla 2000 and ends with Godzilla finals wars, this era other than the two Mechagodzilla films are all set in their own time and aren’t connected with anyof the other ones, gmk which is one of the films in this series is fantastic one of the best of the entire franchise Currently there are two eras of Godzilla existing at the same time one being the monsterverse which is the American Godzilla universe it’s not connected with the 98 film the mv starts with Godzilla 2014 and its most recent film Godzilla x king a new empire 2024 In Japan they are currently in the reiwa era similar to the millennium era in terms of each project set in its own universe this era stars with shin Godzilla 2016 which most people really love and the most recent one Godzilla minus one 2023 it’s probably tied with Destoroyah as my favorite Godzilla film it’s so good it even won Godzilla its first Oscar this year for best visual effects it didn’t even have a $15 million budget and it dwarfs anything Hollywood has done in the past half decade

My favorite line in this movie is when the assassin tells Mal there are innocent people dying because he brought the reavers into the fight. And Mal says you have no idea how true that is... Be the assassin is saying the soldiers are innocent, but Mal was saying the reavers were innocent. Because they may be killers now, but the alliance did that to them

Inara was diagnosed with a terminal disease for which there was no cure. She could lead a normal live until the end if she got proper care on one of the inner core planets. She decided to leave and go see the verse before she died, thereby guaranteeing her life would not be extended. She still had to make a living so she leased a shuttle on Serenity. She fell totally in love with Mal but didn't want to hurt him when she died, so she avoided a relationship with him. When Simon came on board she confided to him about her disease and Simon started to treat her, extending her life. When Nandy was killed she realized that being with Mal was where she belonged and decided that it would hurt her too much to be around him and not be in a relationship with him, so she left. This was all revealed by Joss Whedon years after the movie Serenity came out.

The Miranda storyline was supposed to be at the end of season 2. The show was cancelled halfway through season 1. Joss tried to get it moved to another network with no luck. He was able to get a movie with a hope of a trilogy if the movie did well. Book and Wash wouldn't of died if the series didn't cancelled. It was said that Alan and Ron couldn't commit to additional movies. There are comic books/graphic novels that tell back stories and future stories. Book's back story is in a comic book called A Shepherd's Tales. Titan books has a series of novels/audiobooks that are placed between the show and the movie.

    1) I am sorry. No, I didn't do anything, but I've been there, and I'm sorry. 2)You know that brown coat I suggested? You can pin a "leaf on the wind" on it 3) Zoey at funeral wore a slinky dress. (Shindig) Not word of Joss but of Gina Torres (actress who played Zoey) she (Zoey, the character, not the actress) was pregnant. 4) Now for Jayne/River theory. Jayne in pilot said (to lawman) "it's a girl. She's not all there but not all of her has to be." If River is a willing woman, his part is set. In Ariel when she first wakes up she says to Jayne, "Copper for a kiss." When she is going on about Christmas presents everyone ignores her gibberish, except Jayne getting pissed. Those are his memories and for some reason she finds him fascinating. In the bar in the movie he can sneak up on a effing psychic because in a fight he does not think, he just does. When he thinks on the ship, she takes him easily. (That also explains why she couldn't dodge his blow after the butcher knife in Ariel, although that might just be her being nuts.) No accounting for taste and River might be well advised to keep a guy who can sneak up on her loyal to her, and she likes him for some reason. BTW, I saw this described as Mal trying to be a criminal but always being annoyed by having a conscience. Then finally acting based on it. Did you notice the lighting for his, "I am to misbehave" speach? Long enough comment already, but again, I'm sorry.

Note, the movie was made in a way to introduce random folks to the 'verse, hence there's a lot that Firefly fans already know. Jubal Early (the character) was based in part on a real Jubal Early, who was a Confederate General in the Civil War. He was partially deaf in one ear, and they used that here, that's why he misheard Simon a couple times. General Early was also thought to be one of Nathan Fillion's ancestors, but I'm not sure if that was actually the case. From his writings after the war, it is clear that General Early was a white supremacist, which makes the choice of this actor nicely ironic. The actor does a superb job of portraying the character, who is a pretty unique villain. My head canon is that because Jubal operates solo and is out of his ship a lot, he probably has a "come get me" beacon to bring his ship to him on automatic pilot, which is why he wasn't too worried in the last scene, and why he really didn't want River messing with the controls.

"Objects in Space": A ruthless bounty hunter invades "Serenity." You have nearly reached the end of the Browncoat Trail, with the movie, "Serenity" up ahead. Please stand for the complete Browncoat anthem: ruclips.net/video/gUn-eN8mkDw/видео.html At the Nakatomi Plaza building, Fox TV executives are "in the air": ruclips.net/video/l5aZJBLAu1E/видео.html Actor Richard Brooks, whom I remember from the early days of "Law & Order" as "ADA Paul Robinette," is "Bill Cipher" powerful here. When he went into private practice as a defense attorney, he "crossed to the dark side" and became a convincing adversary. The phrase, "Does that seem right to you?" should be an internet meme.;) Like other Browncoats, "Whelp, here I am" sums up our sense of loss. On to "The River Tam Sessions" or "Serenity" (the movie.;)

When River saw Wash and Zoe making love, she felt exactly what they felt. The whole intro showed what River perceives. Her reality. She knows some of what she sees is real and some isn't and she's always trying to figure out which is real and which isn't. When she picks up the branch she knows it isn't a branch and she says to herself "It's just an object. It doesn't mean what you think". Then, when Mal says that the branch is a recipe for unpleasantness and asks "Does she understand that?" she says "She understands (that it's an object) but she doesn't comprehend" (what is really is or why it's a danger). It's not the medication doing it. It's what they did to her brain. Buckle your seatbelt for Serenity the movie. It's fast and furious and will leave you mentally and emotionally drained.

She isn't leaving because of everything that happened. She is leaving because she loves Mal too much to be near him and not have a relationship with him. It hurts her too much. The reason she won't be intimate with him is because she loves him too much to hurt him when she dies. In the next episode listen for a line that Inara says "I'm a big girl. You can tell me." Sounds like what she would say to a doctor that just examined her and is hesitant to tell her what he found, doesn't it? River doesn't read thoughts. She reads intentions and takes on the memories of other people, especially tramatic memories. In the next episode she will hear the memories of those on board. This is River's world and the way she perceives everything around her.

I'd say that's your interpretation, not fact. River can clearly read minds, which includes both thoughts and intentions. The Inara line is subjective, it can mean multiple things and the doctor suggestion doesn't make sense in the context of the conversation that they were having.

    • @michaelrunnels7660
      @michaelrunnels7660 Месяц назад

@@lazerx1828 The sentences "I'm a big girl. You can tell me" and "None of it means a damn thing" have nothing whatever to do with the conversation Mal and Inara were having, just as River seeing leaves all over the floor and a tree branch has nothing to do with a gun laying on the floor. The episode deals with River's perception of the world compared to reality. She hears Kaylee and Simon talking, then perceives another statement that Simon made in the past. She hears Jayne and Book talking, then perceives other statements that were made in the past. She hears Mal and Inara talking, then perceives other statements that were made in the past. Current converations and memories appear exactly the same (as spoken words) and are jumbles together. Remember from the episode "Safe" that River knew all about the little girl because she thought that the little girl told her the story by speaking words, but when she learned that the girl didn't talk, she was surprised. In her mind she heard the little girls' tramatic memory just as if the little girl were talking to her. I believe this is precisely what happened to her again in this episode, interlacing present reality with things that happened in the past, all in the form of the spoken word. River knows that some of what she perceives is incorrect, but she doesn't know why or where it's coming from. That is shown when she says about the branch "It's not what it seems. It's just an object." As River says "She understands, she doesn't comprehend", meaning she knows what is happening but doesn't know why it's happening. It's easy to say "River can read minds" but it's harder to explain exactly how it appears to her. Does she see words on a page, or does she just know what is in someone's mind, or does she hear words? Can she pick through someones mind for specific thoughts, or do their thoughts just appear in words? I believe Objects in Space is an attempt to show just what River perceives, how she perceives it, and how much control she does or doesn't have over it. Without revealing a spoiler, remember the line "They are memories and they're not mine. I shouldn't have to carry them."? Please don't expound on this point lest a spoiler is revealed.

@@michaelrunnels7660 Some things wrong here. Simon's perceived statement is from the future not the past, later in the episode, in fact. Though, he cuts himself off before he finishes it when he realizes how it sounds. In _Safe_ River didn't think the girl talked to her, and wasn't surprised when she "learned" the girl couldn't talk. She knew that Ruby couldn't talk and even told the woman that was happy River 'got her to talk' that she doesn't talk and "her voice got scared away." Last, this whole thread is a spoiler for the next episode, so I hope he's already watched it.

Plan for season 2 THAT WAS ABANDONED AND NOT CANON FOR THE MOVIE:: Inara had inoperable space cancer or whatever (Simon knew and was alleviating symptoms). She avoided any emotional ties - first at the temple, then Serenity. An episode they were going to have: They are close to but not in orbit around a world and Inara is off on business. They attacked by reavers, but manage to escape in the other shuttle and the radio is damaged somehow. As they leave they watch in horror as Inara docks with Serenity. They get help and we learn that needle was not to commit suicide, it turned her mucus into a contact poison. With a "sane" person raping her it is like Ben Gay on your weiner and you stop. With a Reaver they rape her until they die. Then the next one starts. When they return with help, all the Reavers are dead in a pile in Inara's shuttle and Inara is in the fetal position and crying. Inara stays on board and does not ply her trade. NONE of that happened before, after, or during the movie.

A dulcimar is sort of a cross between a guitar and an auto-harp. You set it on your lap and play it by plucking or hitting it with your fist. Look up Joni Mitchell playing California live, she plays it on one.

It’s so refreshing to watch someone who understands all the meaning and psychological contexts, as well as all the historic references from this movie. TBH I’m getting sick of so many people reacting to this movie but I’m glad I took a chance and watched yours. I’m looking forward to other top quality movies you might try out.

Kudos on urinalysis ... no, wait ... that ain't right ... I meant, "your analysis" 🤣😂🤣. Great memory ... Simon and River used the same drugs to appear dead in the Ariel episode. Also, you are one of the ONLY reactors who has figured out that Jayne may be uncouth and a musclehead, but there is a reason why he does what he does, and it ISN'T because he's greedy for his own gain, and most just don't realize that.

Jayne is the sole bread winner for his family. If you recall when he tore the statue of himself down he said "Do you think they're just gonna give you money? Money they could use themselves?" He didn't say "Money they want". As Jayne said to Shepherd Book, "My kind of life don't last long". He has to get all the money he can for his family before he dies. Tracey learned that if you try and shoot Wash, you've got Zoe to deal with. You mess with any of the crew, you've got Mal to deal with. You mess with Kaylee, you've got the whole crew to deal with, including Jayne. You have your thoughts about the relationship between Mal and Inara, but I want to tell you what that relationship REALLY is before the next episode. Mal is VERY attracted to Inara and would like to start a relationship with her. Inara is head over heels in love with Mal and has been for some time, but she WILL NOT allow a relationship to develop with Mal. She will go to any lengths to avoid it. The reason why she will do anything to not be intimate with Mal is a major spoiler and I will tell you after you've watched the movie. It has nothing to do with her being a companion. It has everything to do with a secret that she and Simon share. Joss Whedon had a LOT of storylines going on in the backround that never got fully developed.

Forrest was clearly an example of someone who "benefitted" from the 1960s Pentagon program officially known as Project 100,000 initiated by Defense Secretary Robert McNamara...which was often referred to as McNamara's Morons. The purpose of the project was to recruit volunteers and draftees that were below the normal standard for physical, mental, or intellectual fitness for military service...the end goal was to increase the pool of manpower that the military could draw upon. The US was having a tough time keeping up its manpower for our global defense commitments during the ever growing buildup of troops in Vietnam, and the thought was that modern training techniques would allow the various services to find ways for a wider range of men to be useful soldiers, sailors, airmen, or Marines. As a college graduate, Forrest would normally be recruited as an officer, but his low score on the military's ASVAB would keep that from happening. In reality, his low IQ/ASVAB scores would normally make him ineligible for military recruitment, but Project 100,000 was what allowed Forrest to get in. Another very famous example of Project 100,000 seen in cinema is in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. Which would make an excellent first time reaction, assuming you have not seen it already. If you have seen it, then you know the character to which I am referring. 👍
