THANK YOU! I agree with everything you said and I’m so grateful to find a likeminded community.
One of the best birth stories/vlogs I've seen, and I've been watching many throughout my pregnancy. Your way with words left me feeling inspired and less fearful of my birth to come. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for giving us parents a chance to grow and also understand ourselves and children❤ love and light to you and your family
This really encouraged me. Thank you!
5 kids here two hospital births, and three home births - they’re all married now - 16 grandkids. My oldest daughter is a midwife and I spent time over in Africa as she worked with the people there in midwifery. My youngest daughter is a Doula so we are a family who loves appreciates respects, and honors the birth process. I watched your first birth and compared to your second, it’s a massive difference. I’m not really going to say the things that I saw in that birth video that troubled me…. But the difference between the two is pretty dramatic. So happy you got the birth you deserved.
Brilliant. Have you ever considered doing a TED talk?
💞
What a beautiful birth story. I love the extra commentary too!
The single greatest video I’ve watched on YT from start to finish. Thank you for sharing your story. This is beyond words
I've followed your channel since back when I was pregnant; my child is now 4, almost 5 🥰 Thank you for everything you've taught me Mellow Mama 🙏🏽 I resonate so much with your content, and you give me hope that I'll find love again 💛
Love it! Always do. 😊
Good to see you back in this space! Missed it soooo much!
So glad you’re back!
Always appreciate your videos sooo much wisdom.. thank you for sharing
Hi! I have to tell you, I always enjoy and look forward to your videos but seeing this notification really brought me some relief... I was feeling overwhelmed and anxious and thought "oh, good. Her voice and videos are SO peaceful and calming." Tuning in now 🧘♀️
Great job 👏 and thanks for walking us through all aspects and sharing both sides of hospital and home! Wish we could have heard dad’s perspective, he looked terrified but his support was so beautiful to see 😌
Thank you for being brave enough to share these very intimate, raw and sacred moments with the rest of us. I'm now 33 weeks pregnant with my second child and I am looking forward to birthing him. Our 1st birth was a pain free home birth and we are preparing to have another. Your story is so beautiful and yes "surrender " is the name of the game!!!! My 1st homebirth was just me and my husband and our doula and photographer until the very last minute and then the midwife arrived. I think i loved this hsnds off approach...no bp or baby monitoring...just nature and instinct and support and love and worship...we sang worship songs and invited in the presence of the Lord. It was so peaceful. I remember that rest period...I instinctively laid down in bed and slept until my body was ready to push...I just kept breathing and remembered to remain open and I did horse lips a lot ..I never pushed my daughter out and I also didn't experience the ring of fire. Getting into that tub of warm water w essential oils diffusing was the best feeling ever!!!! Thanks for making this video. ...I feel super ready for birth
It's all in God's timing. We weren't ready for our 1st until I was 29 & then did'nt feel like we wanted a 2nd until 4 yrs later & hoping to have less than 5 yr age gap at that point. We unfortunately miscarried & I was bummed that it will be over 5 yr age gap now. We were blessed with another pregnancy 3 months after we lost & the age gap will be 5 yrs & 3 months. I see God's timing is perfect though & our 4 year old daughter will be an amazing big sister. Starting to see all the advantages to waiting & glad we didn't rush ourselves 🙏🏽
I had an unmedicated and unassisted birth with my 4th child. And it has definitely transformed me. I have so much more confidence in myself and faith in God. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant with baby #5, and I am so excited to give birth in a few weeks. I have no fear, I trust my body, and I trust God. I love watching birth stories! So I will be sharing my labor and delivery here on RUclips as well.
Good advice dear
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
I am 5.5 years apart from my sister and we are 2 completely different people as we were essentially raised by 2 completely changed people (same parents but they were in their mid 20's with my sister and early 30's with me). I rarely speak to her. I really don't believe spacing will do anything as I se comment below talking about how wonderful it is. Have kids at whatever pace you want.
@@leanne9102 I’m sorry to hear that… My video doesn’t make any sort of promises but I would say that the physiological aspect of the conversation was completely overlooked in this comment & is one of the more important ones for mothers to consider.
I really want to hear you. Turn off the music.
The worst non supportive partner at birth. He was weirdly sleeping on the tub. Odd reaction from him when the baby was born. I got weird vibes entire time watching his odd behaviour. Geez
THAT WAS ONE OF THEEEE MOST BEAUTI-FULL ome births I've ever watched on You Tube....😮 Your Darling Hubby was so totally in the whole experience with you! 🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
i’m not a mom or anywhere near the season in my life where i’m ready to have a child. But i am so grateful to women like you that share their experience as well as the wisdom you gain throughout it. It gives me more peace of mind because birth and pregnancy is something i so look forward to in my life. And it’s nice to see people sharing their experiences. Its so empowering to hear women talk about what their bodies are capable of🥹
Your birth was beautiful! I had my son February 25, 2023 and Kathy was my midwife as well! So cool
What is a good place to get your
What background music is playing? Its so peaceful
Dude 3 minutes to get to the actual video….
@@msjoby89 well without it people like you will also take to the comments section to say whatever offended you or bothered you, so I try my best to acknowledge what I can to mitigate that- however there’s always a way to complain and you have found it. 😂
I can hear your mother heart wanting to school at home. Schooling at home can be super simple. My youngest of five wasn't schooled until grade two. I let him play with lego and be creative while I educated the older children. In grade three we started school with Eythan. By then end of the year he was caught up to his peers. We start children in education way too young when their brains need to be creative and they need lots of outdoor play.
Thank you for sharing your story! What hypnobirthing did you do for your first birth?
I used Kathryn Clark's tracks!
The mirroring part sounds redundant - until someone does it for you. 💡
Beautifully put. I felt this comment, 😌
Maybe the best aspect of this video was your response to Donovan’s interruptions. So inspiring. 🙏 Thank you.
I’ve probably watched a total of 20 videos on women speaking about their labor experience and even though they were positive this video is by far the most helpful and has given me the most peace of mind and has made me feel so empowered. Thank you so much for sharing 🤍
I'm a soon-to-be mom, and I'm trying to learn everything I can about different parenting styles. Thank you for laying out the basics of RIE parenting with examples! However, I'm uncertain about the point about people "objectifying" the baby if they want to touch or hold him. It seems to me that that's a natural instinct, and that it would help the baby learn interaction with lots of different people. Super early socialization, if you will. Lots of other animals pass their babies around, because the group takes care of the babies and looks after them, together. Isn't that natural? Also, that sometimes people DO touch you in social interactions, and it's not the end of the world. I'm obviously NOT talking about any kind of abusive touch here, but in the adult world, sometimes a new acquaintance will touch your arm when they're laughing, or go for a hug, and it's not their fault, and it would be MORE weird for you to say something about something so small. What about that? I'm not trying to poke you here, (no pun intended lol), just understand better.
Can't watch.😢
The background music is distracting.
This video made me cry!! So so beautiful!! Your words and encouragement so uplifting, motivating, pure, and powerful!! Thank you so so much for making this video!! I have it saved to watch in September when I’m due and again for any future babies I may have as a beautiful reminder!! Thank you!! 🙏🏻 ❤😍🥰
I'm on my fourth pregnancy and I've had a baby at 36, 37, and 41 weeks!
Thank you so much for sharing this vulnerable and beautiful story. I’m pregnant with my first and this made me feel so empowered and normal to want to have my baby at home. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I’m pregnant with my first and always knew I would home birth. It has been so hard to find someone who showcases a TRUE home birthing experience… and a positive one. This was beautiful to watch, thank you for sharing such an intimate experience- this gives me so much confidence!
I’m not a parent nor am i married, but i’ve talked with my partner before about children and how many we want. My reasoning for wanting a minimum 4 year age gap is more so to be able to financially recover so that if and when they want to go to university i can support them equally
I am pregnant with my first and am planning an unmedicated home birth. its never something I thought I would ever consider... I always just assumed i would opt for a hospital and as many free drugs as I could get... but actually, now, being pregnant and speaking with my midwives and my doula... I believe I can do it. I am afraid, but excited about it. Your story and others are so encouraging!
Good job!!!! ❤❤❤❤
This video is very good, and I love your calm voice.
❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your birth! I am due in September with my second baby. My first I had at home too, and I definitely experienced pain, and I didn’t have as much of a controlled birth experience as I wanted. Your video makes me feel even more excited to do it all again, and I will be using the same strategies you used. Surrender!! Thanks again 💕
God I remember, can't believe I have to go through this again haha
Thank you so much for showing us this. It was beautiful! I am a 69 year old widow. I cried so much. God gives us beautiful gifts from heaven. She is beautiful and your husband was so sweet during all of this. God Bless your family. Wish I could hold her. My kids are grown and I have 11 grandchildren all grown the youngest is 16. I wish you the best. Thank you so much. Love you videos.
