I quite agree with you about the F Major. It’s my favourite of the lot too. I don’t mind the original key though but I find F sounds more beautiful to me than its original.

For me I love Bb major. Something about it screams beautiful to me when hearing this piece. Interesting what you said about Bb minor. Will have a listen to that now. 🙂

@@pianosymmetry You were right, e flat minor is darker. But the b flat minor version is for me difficult to listen - there is something eerie and worrying in it. E flat minor don't have this quality, it's more calm although dark

Fair enough, I actually prefer Eb minor.

You are both right and wrong at the same time. lol. Paganini originally wrote it in 1838 but Liszt did a revision of it in 1851 I believe (dates may be a little off). The version I’ve done is the revised version by Liszt, hence why I’ve titled it “Liszt la Campanella” etc.

He didn’t copy it. He revised it. Loads of composers did this. It’s like doing a cover version of a song that becomes well known. Like Whitney Houston when she revised Dolly Parsons “ I will always live you”. Anyone can do it so far as you don’t claim that it’s your original work.

I can see you’re not a fan of composers revising theme. Chopin Fantasie impromptu isn’t entire original either. It’s very similar to an another composer (forgot the name) but Chopin didn’t want to release the Fantasie because he felt so bad about it but look how beautiful his piece is even it it’s not original. Also Handel passacaglia was originally composed by Halvorsen and revised by Handel. I see your frustration with it all but another way to look at it is that the original music is so beautiful that it inspired others to revisit and revise it because they love it so much. I compose too so I know the feeling but I see it slightly different from you.

Thank you for you kind and encouraging words. This has been in my mind to do for years to be honest. It first started when I learned to play arabesques no 1 in Bb major. I was so moved by it in another key that it intrigued me to hear other pieces too. It’s grown from there.

Glad you liked it. The change of key definitely highlights things I didn’t notice in the original key. Minor keys were interesting too.

Not familiar with him but I’ll look him up and add his pieces to the mix.

I love them all. Changing the key deffo adds more dimension to an already great piece.
