Solo Winter Camping + Photography
Hey guys! I got away for a night by myself last weekend to do a little camping and photography. I shot some clips with my iPhone and decided to put together a little video. I camped up in the Cache La Poudre Wilderness and it was beautiful!
All video was shot on my iPhone. Stills are with my Nikon ZF, 40mm f2, 28-75mm f2.8, and Sigma 150-600mm f5-6.3. Video and Photos graded with 606 Presets from Eric Floberg and DVLOP.

A Foggy Morning with the Leica Q (Anamorphic Short Film)
Просмотров 54510 месяцев назад
I woke up to some crazy fog a couple of days ago and really felt the need to create so I grabbed my cameras and ran out the door. The images were made with my Leica Q (Type 116) and the video was shot on my Lumix S1 in 6K open gate log with the Sirui 50mm t2.9 1.6x anamorphic lens. I graded the footage with Dehancer in Final Cut. I know this is a bit of a departure from my previous video but I ...
Character Review - XF35mm f1.4
Просмотров 42 тыс.Год назад
Hey guys! Welcome to the first video on my channel. This is a character review of the Fuji 35mm f1.4. In character reviews I am doing my best to review a lens for its personality and character and not its technical quality. No more boring lenses! The Fuji XF35mm f1.4 is probably my favorite lens of all time. I hope you guys enjoy. If you have suggestions for what lens I should review next, let ...

This is the best lens review I have ever seen. You actually explain the characteristics of this lens with robust examples. Thank you so much. I have fuji 35 f2 + xpro2 and trying to make decision to buy or not 35 1.4

Great review. People talk about the magical character of this lens but none have explained what it actually is. Well done for clearly showing why its faults are actually its strongest points. I'm subscribing to your channel. Looking forward to more from you.

The old 16mm 1.4 and 35mm 1.4 definitely have that character look that brought us all over to Fujifilm, but they dont keep up as well as the WR counterparts when it comes to the auto-focus the market is evolving towards.

Great review and I’d love you to do the same with the xf18mm f2 and xf60mm f2.4 both quirky, unloved, “imperfect” lenses but released at a similar time to the xf35mm f1.4

I've owned this lens for almost 10 years and I never knew about the field/focus curvature, but now I've seen it I can't unseen it ! It's kind of awesome, explains now why I love this lens, but I could never put my finger on why ! Thanks.

I'm here a year late. I'm sure RUclips wanted me to see your review after I saw GxAce say great things about the lens. I've already bought it now (like a few hours ago). But what made me push "Subscribe" was when you said you preferred things with character and quirks. New subscriber because that sums me up, too.

I liked it a lot. I've got the lens and it is a favorite. You take very warm images, not in color temperature, but in human emotion. Good work, Gilmer.

I bought an X-Pro2 and 35mm 1.4 in 2016 and fell in love with the images. I never knew about the "bubble" but wow, it has always been magic for me. The music you chose is beautiful and complements amazing photos.

I have a full Canon system. Great for pro work, great af fast shutter speeds nice L lenses.... And yet.. As I grow old I have move from craving the technical best to something that I enjoy using. I find myself loving a analog Kodak retina IIc.... Not because of film but because of how it feels shooting, how distorting am I with the environment... Nobody likes a huge black and white chunk of a camera on their face.

Hey, great video! This is an actual review of someone that has use the lens and really knows it well. Your comment about the intentional design of shooting medium distance from the subject caught my attention. Do you have any reference for further reading regarding this lens, I did a google search; but with no lock on the topic as you mentioned. Thanks for the video!

i always noticed the characteristic of the field curvature but never realized that is exactly what is was. this is my all time favorite lens. it's amazing how it enhances/isolates subjects, but yet stopped down it is super sharp all over.

Wow. Instant subscribe. That's what I want from a lens review. Tech side matters, but the "emotional" side of it gets neglected more often than not. And it's THE side that makes photography what it is.

I don’t own this lense but I had the same inexplicable feeling with photos I took with the 60mm 2.4. I also have the 35mmf2. A very good lense but it’s like it’s too digital. if that makes any sense. Now, let’s talk about you : you have a good eye! Amazing pictures! Amazing colors too. Do you use any “Fuji recipe”, or do you edit Raws?
