McIntosh MC-2105. How I Hear IT Claudio Martini.

My take on these early generation McIntosh amplifier and how they sound. Thanks for watching. What I meant to say at 25:20 is McIntosh MC-501 not 502 my apologies. The MC-501 MC-402 MC-252, all came with the 3D face plates, it is my opinion that these were the last McIntosh amplifiers that had the older vintage McIntosh sound. The amplifiers coming after are more neutral faster and tend to soun...

McIntosh MC-250 MC-2505 MC-2100 MC-2105 Were the first generation solid state McIntosh Amplifiers developed from the-1967 throughout the-70s these amplifiers have a very unique sound to them very tube like sounding, good base extension and overall very very musical and pleasing to listen to is how I would describe these early generation amplifiers. My favorite of all these is the MC-250 I love ...

Claudio Martini, How I Hear It. Klipsch Forte Ones Review.
I just picked up a pair of original owner Forte I's for $1100 with original boxes and manual etc. Only a few VERY minor imperfections but otherwise in stunning condition. REALLY enjoying them!! Powering with a EAR864 preamp and Threshold S/200 amp currently but also have an EAR890 I'll be swapping in to compare.
Even though I am more muscular and physically intimidating now than when I was 20, the reality is skinny 20 year old me could easily kick 64 year old me's butt. IMO 85% of self defense as an older man is just looking like you can defend yourself to deter the vultures hunting for an easy mark.
Unfortunately your statment is so very true, old is old, and we can in no way ever expect to be able to kick ass on someone half our age, But if you look the part and feel confident in yourself that will picked up the vultures. It is always good to train for self defince anyway.
What is crossover?
Yes, there is a crossover inside the speaker. It makes sure that the right frequencies go to each driver: the woofer gets the lows, the midrange gets the mids, and the tweeter gets the highs. It's not adjustable, it's built by the manufacturer to work just right for that speaker, and it's inside the speaker.
@@Claudio-Martini I have a recent modle Marantz NR 1200 Receiver Amp….would another style/ type amp make a significant difference in performance? 75 watts per channel….I play CD’s and stream these days gave record collection to family….
The Marntz NR 1200 is very good, with 75 watts it is all you will need for what you are doing, and they sound very good. Take Care enjoy the music.
@@Claudio-Martini Thank you! Enjoyed your review…
I ran two Bryston 2b amps in the 1980's and I bought then from Harry's HiFi in Regina, Saskatchewan. Amazing journey for this company. p.s. Frank Zappa used Bryston. RIP Frankie
fun review
Thanks for the review. I have one coming in a few days . Lookign forward to listening to it.
Thank You, Enjoy your new Bryston DAC 3, I am sure you will like it.
chill papi
I may pull the trigger on a pair of Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2EX V2 for my nearfield setup at my PC 😀
That would a very nice setup for for near field PC, Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2EX V2 are very very nice, if you do pull the trigger, let me know your impressions on these speakers, I say go for it.
Νo testing on classical music at all.Every company does the same in Hi-End shows.
A lot goes into best sounding besides the amp.
This is true, it is the whole system that makes for good sound, but is is my belief that the amplifier and the speakers play the must important role in the system.
Best ever really,
Jerry Garcia, said the same thing, McIntosh the BEST.
Okay, so what’s the second best 😅
Bel 1001 MK 3 Class A Amplifier, This is the second best 50 watt amplifier, ever made, only thing is these will be hard to get serviced as the creator of these amps, Richard Brown, has died some time ago I was very saddened by his passing as I have had many conversations with him way back in day, I would say early 90's The Bel-1001 amps were all the rage at that time, and boy did they Sound Good.
VERY Nice! !!
Thank You,
I really like the sound of my Forte 1’s. I’m thinking of upgrading to Forte 4’s or Cornwall 4’s but you are giving me something to think about. My only concern with my Forte’s is that the bass sounds soft. What do you think?
What amp are you running.
@ A restored Pioneer SX-1250 receiver. Thinking since I posted, maybe have to play around more with placement. They are 12 inches off the back wall, but maybe I should rearrange the room to give them more space to breathe?
Thanks, what age are you and how many years have you been lifting?
I am 69 years old, and I have been training with weights lifting for about 5 years, Thank you.
Why should i listen to you over any other fitness youtube?
I never said you should listen to me nor should anybody else. I am simply pointing out my beliefs, my experiences and my philosophy on physical culture that is all. I'm not selling anything I am not trying to convert anyone. I do not profess to be any type of an expert. I am just stating my point of view that is all take it at face value if it works for you that’s awesome. If it doesn’t move on. So to answer your question, why should you listen to me well, I will say that you should be listening to yourself see what works for you. Study training programs get as much information on training diet and then listen to your own body and see how you respond. I’m just giving out information for you to sift through just like you would when you go to a library and pick out a book and read it. You can toss it or you can put it in your book shelf. Have A Nice Day, The Old Man.
Do you do rampup sets for only compound movements or isolation as well?
I do ramp-up sets for all compound movements and for isolation exercises I will do straight sets as you very warmed up after your compounds lifts. But remember experiment and see what feels right for you. The must important part of this routine is the the frequency and the order of the exercises and the recuperation that is gained. I hope that helps.
Thank you very much sir!
Thank you!
Tu fai allenamento in jeans??😮
When I workout in the garage it can get very cold in this video it is like 35 degrees, so I usually wear jeans and sweatshirt keeps me warm that's all. What's the big deal for wearing Levi's 501 jeans ?
Fai pubblicità a levis 501
Very nice. I follow the mentzer approach i must admit... all eggs in the intensity basket on some select exercises. Build them overtime and allow time for not just full recovery, but also overcompensation to occur. 30 yo man here love the videos
LMFAO --- you look better than that guy from I am Longevity? `That guy would literally destroy you. You look like a corpse and an ey drunk. I cannot belive you have the audacity to even compare yourself to him. I am literally LMFAO. I mean, just look at you. Can you even move? I can set up a meeting with you and him. Would you like that? I mean in person.
Your 💯👍👌😉
100% agree and this is how my training runs now. I work on the exercises that I feel work best for me and limit injury risk. I rotate them, hitting a push, pull, and leg exercise in each workout. Maybe some calves or Stretching as assistance to finish. Getting more gains and better recovery and the workouts stay interesting.
You ought to see my ADS 1230s, purchased in 1983. Talk about mint condition. Not for sale. Not yet at least.
nice video
I agree 100% on the idea to train to live and not live to train analogy. Health is the absolute treasure and training helps to achieve that.
The Press Behind the Neck gets a bad rap, but it has always helped my shoulders feel good. I don't lower the bar as far as you do, I go just below the bottom of the ears. Stay Strong!!
Thank you Sir, I like your channel, very nice I have Subscribed, Stay Strong my friend.
@@Claudio-Martini Thank you! Subbed and Bell Rang on your channel as well. Keep up the Strong Work!!
I am doing some crazy training at the moment, I am just using it to help the fat burn, a temporary phase. In recent years I find my training has become very seasonal, I tend to go heavy barbell in the warmer months and light and fast and voluminous kettlebell in the cooler months. I doubt this is optimal but there is a good argument that doing what keeps you interested in the process trumps perfect robotic programming.
I agree being fixed in a routine for 12 months can get boring, I brake my training into 3 months intervoles, then change.
the kinobody and leangains guys are on gear. Just saying, you cant use them as examples of abbreviated training.
I use myself as example, I am 68 years old soon to be 69 here in a month, and I am not on any gear never have been, never on any TRT what so ever. Have a nice day the old man.
not even close to a vintage Tannoy unless you demoed with tubes and a sub
needs a sub and tube gear
Top alnico sound ❤one of the best demos, very impressed
30 yo guy here.. just found my new favourite fitness channel
I have to show this to my coworker who is about your age. He has.given up on himself physically and spiritually. He ridicules me for continuing to get after it.
Do not listen to anyone keep your training up, but be safe at all times, train hard and rest rest rest. Thanks for watching.
This is very timely. I'm taking a few days to travel visiting family. I was already looking forward to work out with my brother in his garage gym. After watching this I think it will be better to chill with mom by the pool.😂
Yes relax, then get back at it. Thanks for watching.
I'm ten years younger than you and training since 13. I needed to hear this from someone like you. My biggest problem is doing too much. Thanks for sharing brother! Just found your channel and working through your catalog.
Thanks for watching, keep up the good work, train hard and rest hard.
Great advice! 2 weeks off most people get stronger afterwards.
Yes this has always happen to me after a week or two off, I come back stronger. Thanks for your comment.
I agree! It should alway be about getting stronger and staying strong as we age. There is no reason to "slow" down as we age. Of course the weight on the bar may come down because of aging but JUST KEEP PUSHING! As long as you do it relatively safe (there is always a risk) being older should never stop you. Learn while your young not to overtrain and be reasonable with your form you will remain structurally sound. Having big muscles is definitely part of why we lift but should not be the sole reason. Being stong for life is a far, far better reason to lift. A stonger muscle will definitely grow so just get stronger. Stronger muscle will also keep you healthier. One more thing, stay strong with awkward lifts also. Heavy sandbags, stones and logs. Chop wood, jump, sprint and throw stuff.
Thank you for your comment. I could not agree more. You’re absolutely correct being strong is very important as we age. The grim reaper is always at our door. We must do everything we can to avoid him as long as possible. Thank you for your kind words. Have a nice day the old man.
I bought my Forte 1,s in 1988 and still have them, they're almost in the same condition as yours with a few minor blemishes, they still sound great on all kinds of music 😊
good video bro
Came very close to buying the Forte in 1986. Got a deal on Polk SDA1-C's I couldn't turn down and I still have them in mint, upgraded condition. I am finally getting the Forte lV ( in Cherry) and will be picking them up 9/10/24. They will be my main speakers in my new "retirement" home. I'm very much looking forward to relaxing, looking over the lake and playing every CD and piece of vinyl in my collection. I'm also happy knowing my 2 sons will have to figure out who gets which pair of speakers. Boy....living would be great if that is the most difficult decision they have to make in life.😆
That’s awesome. I’m very happy that you’re retiring and will be able to relax and listen to your music. Because at the end of the day, what we have is good food, good music and you’re good to go. The forte fours are an incredible speaker. You will enjoy them. I’ve listened to them here locally and I can tell you they are really nice. Give them about 100 hours to break in and you will be very pleased. Cherry that’s what I would’ve picked. Also thanks for the comment and enjoy.
I bought the first gen round box version new…use them with my Panasonic VT60 Plasma.…also have 1 forte 2…They look amazing…
Nice find. Loving the dance tracks.
Great discussion point and those are good numbers. I agree around the need for safety when lifting. My rack has let me push my limits and not fear failing a lift. I value the importance of the basic exercises but have moved to the variations to overcome long term injuries and what i feel works for me right now. Will still return to the standard's as a strength test once in a while to mark my progress. Its a long process training totally natural but i just enjoy the privilage to work out the health benefits and see the gradual improvement.
I agree just about 100%. In my 40s I had a 330 lb bench, 470 squat, 590 deadlift. But life got in the way, I emphasised work and I also got into endurance sport. Not terrible but it chipped away at my strength and only at the beginning of this year did I decide I need to address this, so I am making a comeback with the barbells. The problem is that the mindset to succeed this way, naturally, flies in the face of current societal values. It is very hard, it takes time. It’s not the instant consumer self gratification. It is “ old school”. All you need is a basic bare bones set up, no shiny machines, no real need for the attractive commercial gym. A bar, plates, bench, rack. That is it. And a gut full of fight.
Try some quicksilver amps on them if you want to step into the music
Ive had an audio business for years and everybody that comes in likes the forte 1 better than current speakers. They were also Paul Klipsch favorite model. The 2s have a nasy peak in the upper mids and the larger horn will tear your head off
Great to hear! Haa!
These are great speakers. N9ne of the other Klipsch are as good. Ive had them all. The 1s are much better
Have you compared them to Chorus II's?
