Great explanation
What a great viedo! Thank you for that!!
What I’m waiting for is a cure for Deafferentation Does anyone know anything about this? Even if it's something experimental it doesn't matter, I'll take it, I can't take this permanent pain I have
Very nicely explained, movement of axis of rotation
RIP Dr.Wally

TRUELY AMAZING HOW WONDERFULLY WE WERE MADE. Also makes me appreciate the mad skills Doctors / Surgeons have. Wow !
Pleasant surprise from the algorithm👍
this is amazing
Hi, can someone please explain more about muscle imbalance in the quadriceps and what exercises can help for 1:38 ? Thank you in advance.
This theory is not proven by litterature. The patella not gliding in the trochlea groove is mostly due to poor tibio-femoral alignement, which requires an assessement of the hip and foot.
Thank you so very much for all the knowledge you share.
I knew he was a Leo by the way you described him. : )
i search and cannot find a doctor in new yrk city who believes as you do. are there any?
Hi Michelle. Do you have the video of Dr Wally's presentation and demonstration of Injury Recall Technique (IRT). Thanks . Terry
I watched this video in an attempt to understand the knee joint at full bend (femur and tibia ~parallel). Sometimes when I am in this position ('sitting' on my heels with my shins flat on the ground) I experience sudden, sharp pain when extending my knee (for instance, raising up to kneeling) which requires me to drop back down as if to 'reset' and correct the movement of the joint (which quenches the pain). I'm trying to diagnose this. Any insight would be appreciated. This video has been the most helpful I've found so far.
Hi Kerry....where can i find some songs by your group Dayspring from the 70s...much love
wonderful video, useful !
wonderful animation indeed
I have a total knee replacement, after surgery my knee cap has been hanging up, locking, and most doesn't glide right.been dealing with this for a lil over a yr
Go to a PT rightaway,
Domenica lupold why u replacement
I had an injury on my right knee for years ago, done all kinds of therapy, knee braces. Now a year and seven months later, I am worse know then before.Had a total knee replacement, scope surgery, and now was told I am in need of a revision of the total replacement. Seen another surgeon and say this may not work, my outcome will stay the same be worse...
Now how work u r knee
My left knee have problem and I don't no what I do
Wonderful animation! Hello Dr Schmitt, we would like to video the knee motion you have in this presentation and use it for a free educational video for taichi practice, talking about proper hip and knee coordination, May we have permission to do so?
what a fucking quack
Pretty cool to see the movement so well. Thanks.
Great job Dr. Schmitt!
Walter Schmitt is one of my favorite human beings. Check out Chris Astill-Smith as well. They're good friends and it shows.
swagging
Yes
first disliker you only live once hahaha
Funny, the condyle does slide yet Stryker created the Triathlon knee that esposes that the knee actually rotates from a fixed axis. Does this create problems for the patient using the said prosthesis?
possible current data shows somewhere between 80-85 % satisfaction post total knee what is happening to the other 20%? that's the million, sorry, Billion dollar question!! this kind of data could help fine tune knee arthroplasty in years to come, it sure looks like native knee pivots around medial condyle and slides laterally, imo as for Stryker, that is simply the design rationale behind the system, remembering that knee is 20 +/- years old. Also remember the articulation of the implants dictates motion as well. there is data, (Howell et al) that show a cylinder through the femur, but is often difficult to reproduce A lot of attention is being given to more Kinematically designed knee systems. But to add to the mix, there are Kinematic implants being introduced to the market as well as Kinematic surgical techniques being developed to help with patient satisfaction scores. problem is it takes years to validate any and all of these ideas hope that helps in any small way
@@devinthomas4866 thanks for the reply. I used to work for a small orthopaedic implant company and I still find these intersection of medicine and engineering fascinating.
I had a lateral release surgery of my right knee Patella, due to a work related injury,,and now my knee locks up when I attempt to fully extend my ... Good video.. thanks..
best animation and description of knee ever!
Very revealing..
Thank you so much for that statement. That's what I say for the last 4 years in Med School here in Germany, and it's making me crazy. You get stigamtized if you ask for the function behind a test. Especially in biomechanics or kinesiology, in which I want to specialise in. I'm trying to learn some kinesiology on the side though. Any hints how to improve my situation and learn something for real?
Caffeine affects the neurotransmitters. If someone has issues with this they need to get off the caffeine
Elevated homocystene can be caused by caffeine. The body uses folic acid, b-6 and b-12 to lower it. Chances are if someone is coming in with elevated homocystene it's either all the coffee, soda, tea they are drinking and or all the animals.
If i compare my kneemotion it seems that mee kneecap (patella) is sitting higher then in this video. My patella is also sticking outwourds not on the lateral or medial side but just sticking out. But i have verry thin vmo muscles.
agreed!
Dr. Schmitt makes it very clear of the importance of homocysteine assessment early on in your patient assessment. Concise and clear!
Very informative. Thanks for uploading.
Dr. Schmitt is still the best teacher there is!!
Great video. Thanks!
Its amazing!!!
