I don't know anything about WH but I feel like White Scars would definitely be my chapter if I could choose. Mainly the having hobbies and smaller missions parts. They seem like one of the few chapters that don't treat their space marines as cannon fodder.

I have the 1st ed of 40k, the last I played, still sitting on a pile of books downstairs, the pages coming out. The 8th (wow) edition, and this book, are much more colorful and organized, and just as mesmerizing. One thing that persists between editions is the overwhelming sense that one doesn't have any money. Very relaxing and enjoyable, thank you. So the issue is the blatant, fictionalized hypermasculinity of space marines at the exclusion of females is... exclusive? No complaints about the ritualized torture and abuse of male children at the expense of their identities? I'd think that would be something to be relieved about being excluded from, lol. You settled it pretty concisely; a creative person doesn't see limitations and exclusions, they make it theirs.
